Lets talk strollers

We always rented from Disney. No dealing with it on the bus, at the resort, etc. We brought along a blanket for each kid, that way they had some extra padding in there, and they could snuggle up. Both of my boys LOVED the Disney ones. We brought our own twice, I think, and we hated it. It was a major hassle for us. And it was a light weight jogging stroller, too. We rented from Disney 3 - 4 times, I believe, and it worked so well each time!

In the past we have always brought our own City Mini (the same most rentals companies use).

As others have stated, most airlines will gate check for free.

One word of advice. We had our City Mini stolen from Downtown Disney outside of Rainforest Cafe. Restaurant management and Disney security were very helpful in trying to track it down, considering I'm sure they deal with this daily. It was never recovered and the only upside was that it was our last night on vacation. Lugging my toddler everywhere was not ideal, especially in the airports.

Our next trip we took a cheaper replacement and hated every minute of it. I cannot say enough about the City Mini, especially it's one-handed folding capability. This is a lifesaver for getting on trams, trains, etc.

So on that note, any recommendations on how to secure your stroller? We looked at renting for our upcoming May trip, however, my wife found a great deal on another City Mini - essentially the same price as renting it for the duration of our next trip. So, we went ahead and purchased another one.

Thoughts?

In the past we have used a stroller lock and locked the back wheels together. You can't lock to anything because cm have to move them. We also leave nothing of real value in the stroller. Usually just some extra clothes.

Go for the jogging stroller, especially if your child is taller, or there's any chance they'll sleep in the stroller. It's a little more hassle getting on and off parking trams and busses, but totally worth it in the parks.

We've taken two trips now with a Baby Trend Sit-n-Stand Ultra, and I'm never taking it to Disney again. I'll either buy or rent a jogging stroller. I loved how much space it had for our stuff, but our daughter didn't have enough room. She couldn't really lay and nap; she'd be nearly falling out of the stroller, or her feet would end up dragging on the ground. Also, it was comparable to pushing an umbrella stroller, which got hugely annoying when doing it for more than just a brief trip.

:sad2: I looking at that same Chicco Echo stroller. All we have for DD is the travel system stroller. Which I love, its very easy to push, very easy to pack back up with one hand but it is big. We are driving and that thing folded up is about the size of a suitcase! The price and size is what caught my eye for the Chicco. We saw the turquoise one in Target and it is beautiful! (I also like the purple one I saw online lol)

Now we took it down from the display and it didn't feel so smooth when pushing it and I had a hard time folding it up. In fact, I hate to admit but I just left that sucker! It was lightweight and I like the cupholders for mom/dad (this is also some I love about the travel system we have) and I think it had a little storage tray as well. Also the storage underneath for the park bag. DH is going to carry a backpack as well.

Now I'm looking up city minis on Ebay and the price is what is steering me away, maybe the chicco we looked at when at Target was just a fluke? I really need to go look at it again. I don't want to rent a stroller and I am convincing DH we need a stroller more like this as I consider DD more of a big girl now not so much of a baby. I just don't feel like she is comfortable in the travel system stroller anymore? :confused3 I think I convinced him last night though when I mentioned it takes up a LOT of the trunk (where our suitcases are going to go)
