We just bought a new house end of last year. It's in a good neighborhood. After emailing my neighbor about it, I found out we have 6 cops just in our area of our development. That doesn't stop idiots though. We've had 3 sets of trespassers come through our woods in the past month just that we've caught.

Today dh caught 2 guys at the front & back of our house & a 300lb dude was walking up by back deck which no other neighbor can see since it backed up by our woods. I have a security systems and a big ole' sign which didn't stop them. I love seeing the deer run through our woods, but not humans. Turns out the woods backs up to a dead end road of a neighborhood of riff-raffs per the sheriff. Luckily, the guys were caught within 30 minutes...or so I though. Wrong guy, had warrants to he went to jail anyways. Sleeping with one eye open tonight. I want to put up a big fence across the sides & back of my woods, guessing @ 300ft worth. None of my neighbors can see the back of my property so looks isn't an issue. I would love a privacy fence but not in the budget right now. I have googled a few things about fences but it's a bit confusing to me. Would it be easier & cheaper to stretch & wrap barb wire across the trees or put up a field fence (like for cows/horses)? Thanks for any tips.

Neither type will stop an individual. Fences and locks only help keep honest people honest.

True...it would hinder them some I would hope. I read another thing where barb wire can kill trees, so I guess that method is out.
