Lets Talk Booze - Best Cocktail in the World

Mudslides from the pool bar at POR. They are the best. Served in a glass drizzled with Chocolate. I can taste it now!!!!

Another fan of the Lapu Lapu. Too bad they are so expensive.

Can anyone tell me what the beer is like at the brewery at the Boardwalk?

The Big River Grille has a beer selection much like every mainstream micro-brew / brewpub you may have ever been to. There's nothing on the beer menu that's unpleasant, but not a lot that you'd write home about, either.

The Southern Flyer Light Lager is a plain light beer. Fans of Miller Light will rejoice.
The Steamboat Pale Ale was quite good, and reasonably bitter. I'm a fan of bitter pale ales, however...
The Sweet Brown Ale had a taste that was a lot like one of my home-brew attempts.
The Pilsner and the Red Ale were both refreshing and good, particularly on a hot day.
All in all, I can't think of a better place to spend an hour or two sitting on the Boardwalk than in front of the Big River Grille sampling beers. You're not going to find a diamond in the rough, but the beers are good and fresh, and the view can't be beat. They're better than anything served at ESPN, anyway.

Thanks NotQuiteGeek,

I appreciate the input. I have just become a beer fan and have been trying different brands and styles. Look forward to trying some in December. :thumbsup2

We really enjoyed the Glowtini- this is the new drink made for the YOMD celebration. Tried it at Kona and at Coral Reef...Great taste and not too strong...

I liked the aple martini'sd but I don't drink very much, so I haven't had a lot of others.

My favorite is the Sultry Seahorse at the Gurgling Suitcase at OKW. DH loved his Mudslide there.

Torontopolitan at Le Cellier and Wasabi Bloody Mary at Kona.
Too bad the Lodge Fizz at WL Trout Pass Pool bar is gone.....

:drinking: It is definately the Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge!!! But be beware! :tilt:

All rignt. I have been home for 2 and 1/2 hours (left this morning from Beach Club, now back in RI) and I want one of the drinks you all had. How did I miss some of those. I guess I was just to full to sample these goodies with the free DDP. Now its back to reality. YUCK!!

I had this at Le Cellier last week it was yummy.

I'm taking notes, since we're doing our first-ever Monorail Drink-A-Thon in two weeks with our best friends.

My faves:

Backscratcher at the Tambu (it gives off fumes!)
Goombay Smash at the Banana Cabana/CBR
Hurricane at River Roost at POR
Lost on Safari (I think that was it) at Dawa Bar at AK

Anyone have a link to all the drink menus at WDW?

I turn 21 in January and will hopefully be going to WDW shortly thereafter and I am looking for opinions on some of the drinks I've seen that look yummy for my first legal WDW drinks (I did have a frozen fiesta margarita in Mexico and a pineapple-y thing at Kona Cafe, but those were ILLEGAL!! drinks).

- Kona Cool Sundown at the Kona Cafe (sounds like a Cosmopolitan, which are yummy)
- there's this drink at the WL pool bar... something about orange vodka and vanilla ice cream maybe... something creamsicle-like

My favorite cocktail is at the Nine Drangons @ Epcot. It's named after a flower, something rose maybe....I can't remember it but it is so darn good. Anyone think of it??

A French Martini at the bar at the California Grill made by Denis.
The best!!! :thumbsup2

I love the Backscratcher at Tambu Lounge at the Poly. It is a rum/jack daniels concoction using fruits juices as a mixer. YUM!

And don't forget, it comes with a real backscratcher as a swizzle. I don't much go for fruity drinks, but something about this one works for me -- maybe it's the whisky, which isn't a common liquor base for a tropical drink.

At the Akershus, it's worth trying a crackling cold shot of Aquavit with dinner. Apparently, the Norwegians drink shots of this during dinner, as opposed to before and after. Makes sense, since it's flavored with caraway, which kind of goes with the food.

Otherwise, I'm somewhat of a martini snob, which is all about the bartender. You can have the best ingredients in the world, but if the bartender isn't up to par, you end up with a lukewarm glass of premium vodka with olive guts floating around in it. So far, the best bartenders we've found in on property are generally at the Boardwalk's bar. Although if you go offsite, we've had great martinis at both the Ritz Carlton and Gaylord Palms.
