tell me... do you love or hate it? and why?

I have a dinner ADR for our first night... my mom will be with me for the first few days before DH comes and it's her first time on the dining plan... I would hate for her not to like it!

So tell me about Boma's dinner...

My favorite place to dine!

I'm not too keen on trying new things , especially when it comes to spices and meats.
I was a little worried it would be so different ( some of the foods were difficult to pronounce) that I wouldn't like it.

The servers explain all the different cuts of meat , how they are seasoned , and prepared etc.

Everything we tried , we loved.:thumbsup2

I was so pleasently surprised.
The soups are amazing!
I can't wait to go back.
Give it a try.

Boma is a great restaurant! The food is wonderful, from fruits and salads to desserts-be sure and try the zebra domes! The resort is beautiful and fun
to enjoy viewing the animals! Enjoy!

LOVE LOVE LOVE BOMA! We enjoyed everything we tried and the food was so good! The soups were out of this world and the selection was great as well. Here's som eof my pics from last years trip....

We have dinner at least 2x per trip at Boma. We all love Boma.
Their dinner buffet is the best buffet at WDW. The brea kfast is also great.
I can't compare their breakfast buffet with others as this is the only breakfast buffet we have eaten at.
12 more days and Boma awaits....my mouth is already watering.

Our whole family loved Boma. Even our 5 year olds had no problem finding lots of things to eat. I especially loved the different hummuses (sp?) and all the salads. The one thing I wasn't thrilled with were the dessert choices. I didn't care for the zebra domes (I think I just broke a DIS rule by saying that :lmao: ) and the rest of the desserts were just so-so. However, since I was already stuffed by all the other wonderful foods, I didn't really even want dessert.

We've got our ADR for Boma for Jan. 08 already!

what IS a zebra dome? I mean I saw them in the pic (thanks KatGarcia)... but what exactly does it taste like?

Boma was our very favorite meal of our trip. I ate way too much because everything was sooo good. For me, the zebra domes were OK but nothing really special. But there were lots of really good desserts! Enjoy!:)

Loved Boma, and the AKL is beautiful. My only suggestion is that some of the spices and seasonings are unexpected and kind of different. Especially for the less adventurous eaters in your party, you might want to try very small servings of dishes that look interesting, just to taste them and see if you like them -- then go back and get what you like best. I loved all of the desserts I sampled, except for one -- green tea mousse, or green tea rice pudding, something like that. I was really glad I only got a tiny bit of it to try! :scared: :rotfl2: But there were so many delicious things to eat, we both left very full and very happy :goodvibes If I make it back to WDW someday, we will definitely go to Boma again -- and might even go for breakfast, too.

YUM! Boma has become one of our top restaurants at WDW. We love the atmosphere. The service is great. And the food....it is so good. There is a huge variety and they explain everything very well. Since it is buffet style, you can try bits of this or that and go back for what you really like. And even though you won't have room for them, be sure not to miss the desserts. The resort is beautiful also, so take some time to explore the lobby and walk outside before or after dinner.

Love it! On our first trip, it was our favorite restaurant. We loved it so much we stopped at the podium on the way out from dinner to make a breakfast ADR for another day of our trip (breakfast is fantastic too). On our last trip we had to do dinner and breakfast again and weren't disappointed. Last trip we tried The Hollywood Brown Derby and Kona Cafe - so Boma isn't exactly the favorite anymore, but it is a very, very close running in the top three.

We ate at Boma recently and loved it!

I think one of these soups is carrot-ginger and the other is chicken ????. Both were good.

I've read on the Dis that some people think the zebra domes are over-rated. I think they are to die for!

I am not an adventerous type when it comes to food. I think I am picky. I was hesitant about trying Boma but we did and have been back 2 times since then.Next trip, we'll be doing Boma once again. We love it!

My husband and father loved it! My DH particularly loves the prime rib.

Me, on the other hand, I totally dislike it. I've tried it twice and just do not care for it. Probably has to do with my dislike of curry and coconut (they were everywhere both times I went). The desserts were not what I had hoped for (disappointed with zebra domes) and the kids food choices were cold both times I went.

I did get awesome deep fried oreos my first time though ;)

LOVE IT!

It is, IMHO, the best buffet we've ever eaten at.....anywhere.

The variety of offerings is really good...and pretty much anyone can find something they like. Even picky eaters have the prime rib and the potatoes...as well as the "kids" offerings (and yes, i've seen many adults eating them).

The soups are just to die for. The BBQ ribs (when they're on the rotation) are sublime. The breads and salads are amazing. Really, I've found VERY few items (and I've tried a lot of 'em) that weren't, IMHO, just fantastic.

Oh, and lest I forget...Zebra domes.

We love Boma-I agree though, you need to get small amounts of things first to see what you like, but i found things that I like (well, love) on their buffet. Its the one restaurant we are planning on going to again for our next trip-my DH really loved it!

I love Boma! It is one of my favorite restaurants on property. (Unfortunatly, I can't say the same about its neighbor, Jiko.) The food is excellant, though there are some items that I don't really care for, but that's a matter of personal taste, not because the food is poorly prepared.

Some of my favorite dishes are the crusted prime rib, butternut squash soups, creamy she-crab soup, sweet potato mash (which I believe is called fufu,) and most of the desserts I've tried have been excellant. The salads are also very good, though I forget the names of the individual salads I've tried, I just remember liking them.

I  Boma for breakfast and dinner. I think my favorite thing at Boma for dinner is the pasta salad! It is fantastic. I also love all the carved meats and different sauces. There really is something for eveyone from the blandest to most adventurous of tastes! The only thing I really don't care for is - GASP - zebra domes!

We had them at Mara last year, they are ok but I think overrated by the Dis...

Sponge cake on the bottom, a coffee like Kahlua tasting mousse covered by white chocolate with chocolate drizzle.
