Let's talk about feet

About a year ago I got heel spurs and was in so much pain. My daughter introduced me to dansko shoes. Now thats the only brand I wear. I have aquired at least 10 pairs.

I am a Teva girl! I had my first pair for 10 years and I just replaced them this year with the leather ones and they are so comfy! I have to have my piggy toes exposed in the summer... no more closed toe shoes (unless I excersize!) for me when the weather gets warm!

DH tried the Keens, but found that when rocks/sand got inside, it hurt. Other than that, he said they were comfortable.

I'm sorry...did someone say Birkenstock OUTLET?! WHERE?! OH my goodness I am SO THERE!!! :cool1: I absolutely adore birks...they are fantastic. I have brand spanking new pair on my feet right now...just arrived!! Black patent leather Sydney's!! My "dressy" Birks!!! :rotfl: They are just so dang comfortable. I too have so many pairs, worn so many pairs to the ground after years of wearing them. They last for ages and can be refurbished as well! A lot of times I will buy mine direct from Germany...the prices there are SO MUCH better and even with the $15 air ship, they are still cheaper and so many more choices! www.baumhouse.com is a great site with tons of options you would never find in the states!!! I got the Pink bejeweled Heidi Klum birks for my "wedding" shoes!!!! :cool1: I LOVE THEM!!! Have found nothing better and tried them all! Tevas give me blisters and I'm sorry Croc fans, but somehow they just do NOT cut it in terms of support and comfort...at least not for me!

I'm getting my first pair of Crocs and am so excited! I tried on a pair the other day and it was like walking on air! Now I just have to make up my mind....plain black or white or someting really out there like like neon pink with bright yellow splashes. I'm thinking something bold...I mean they are already so ugly and and are going to stick out no matter what the color I might as well go with something fun :sunny:

Ok, my last post untill i have to go to work so i'll make it count!
Background, i'm a bit chubby and need good support for my feed in order to walk long distances.

Tevas: In my opinion have no support on the footbed. If you have good feet then go for them they are a cheaper version of keens. They do have more expensive versions of Tevas with more support...i have not tried them. They are $70 + .... at that point just buy a pair of keens.

Keens: I just bought a pair last week and I LOVE THEM. They have all the support of a all terrian sneaker but but more "air!" I wish i could wear these to work! I love the fact that no one can step on my toes too!

BIrkenstock: I love birkenstocks just as much as the next person for around the house sort of stuff. Running to the stores.... They would not give me the support or cushion i need for long distance walking.

Crocs: I just bought my crocs last week with my keens. I'v been wearing my keens so much i'v neglected the crocs. The crocs, in my opinion, need to be worn with socks or they are stick and hot. The crocs are very light and comfortable...but i have'nt decided if they would be good for long distance walking. Most ppl on the board swear by them at WDW. I though they where ugly at first... still think there kinda ugly...but who cares when they feel so good. I suggest a pair of crocs for "hanging out" even if you dont buy them for WDW.

I still cannot get on the Croc bandwagon yet as they are so ugly! During my last trip July 05' I wore flip flops from American Eagle. I have them in every color & wear them every day during the summer but didn't know how they would do in disney but it was wonderful! They are the most comfortable sandal I have ever owned. The straps are made of an elastic material that doesn't bother your feet. I'm going back in Dec. and these are definately coming with me! They re on the American Eagle website and they are the AE platform flip flop style # 0417-2001.

I think J Crew also carries very similar flip flops with the elastic straps. Good luck!

I  AE but I got a pair of those type of sandals form the Old Navy outlet for like $4 bucks and you are right incredibly comfortable with the soft elastic straps :)
