I searched but didn’t find mention of this anywhere, so I hope it’s not a duplicate report. I’m reading Bill Diercksen’s page in the Spring issue of Disney Files, and he makes reference to “a new tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows.” Can’t get much more definite than that.

I really hope that’s not the name they go with. Like you said, it’s too long.

Even something as simple as “the aloha tower at PVB” would be good in my opinion. It’s short, fits the culture, and pays respect to where the spirit of aloha dinner show used to sit.

Here are zoomed in images of the two cutouts on the monorail side. The larger cutout area looks similar to images others have posted of at least one cutout on the lake side. Notice the light coming in from the top right area. Pretty sure that's from the corner walkout area where the middle and next portion are angled.
The smaller cutout seems significantly different that others.




Here is a zoom of their lake view cutout (left side) middle tower area on left side.

If I'm seeing things correctly, on the fifth floor there will 1BR, 2 studios, or 2 duo studios (lake view) across from the monorail facing large cutout. That means they will be next to the larger lake view cutout (5th-6th floor).

Seems those rooms will have a lot of foot traffic in the hallway outside their doors.

@aka Charles had a good summary of rooms in September of 2023, using a public document @Jwaire found.

After looking at the artist rendering, there is no divider in the room adjacent to the main tower large cutout facing the lake. I think that means it will be a 1BR.

Personally, I was thinking a shorter version: Seven Seas Tower.
"Seven Seas Tower at Polynesian Villas and Bungalows"

We're here now. Everything is wonderful. Grounds exceptionally lush & well-kept.
Pool chairs at 2pm are taken, but not at 10am. Some "saving" still goes on & I did see somone remove towels from 2 chairs that had been unoccupied over an hour. Shade seems to be the priority, instead of sunny locations.
GCH is more crowded when guests wait for Ohana seatings, but otherwise lots of empty chairs to lounge in.
Capt Cook's has not been to capacity seating during our meals there.
Best surprise is that I expected Tower to loom over the resort, but from DVC area, it's hard to see it at all. Of course, from boats & monorail, it's there but the only disadvantage I see is to the Wedding Pavillion...Not sure how they'll manage the audio & visual impact of the looming Tower. Otherwise, I think it will be a perfect compliment to PVB.
BUT....That pool is one seriously sorry mistake unless they have some pixiedust that will make it MUCH bigger.

Did anyone read the article by bill diercksen in the newest Disney files magazine? He talks about new projects and references the “new tower at Disney’s Polynesian villas and Bungalows”. Seems to make it pretty clear it will be part of the old association. Was really hoping for new so I’m kind of bummed.

Yeup. I didn't read it but someone else said it as well. Now back to speculating on those tower holes..
