Ok, it's a political thread, but a different kind. Let's see if anyone has the guts to take this on.

1) State who you are supporting in the Presidential election.
2) Give one reason why (It must be a valid reason. Not a "because the other guy is worse" excuse.)
3) Say one thing that you like/admire/respect about the other candidate. (It must be real. Not a backhanded compliment or a sarcastic response, but something that you genuinely like/admire/respect.)

I'm doing a little experiment to see whose supporters are the most honest or reasonable. So let's show that it is okay to support one person and still see a positive aspect in another person.

Any takers? :cool1:

One more thing: No political debates. No negative "how can you say that about (blank) when he..." retorts

Ok. I'll try: 1.I'm voting for McCain
2.I'm voting for him because I think he is the best qualified for the job.
3. I like that Barack seems to have a strong marriage and seems to be a good father.

I'm leaning towards Senator McCain. Why? He strikes me as a honest person, and I feel that, as President, he will again become a "maverick' and follow his own beliefs.

I think Senator Obama has really energized people into feeling like they can make a difference in government.

1. McCain/Palin
2. They represent the change that I want to see. I have confidence in their desire and ability to seek reform. McCain has a proven record of working across the aisle.
3. I respect Obama's passion for what he believes in.

1.) I'm voting for Obama
2.) Because I respect him, see him as a good leader and he has been against this war from Day 1, that holds a lot of weight with me
3.) McCain...I LOVE John McCain and would be honored if he led this country. Unfortunately I cannot vote for him due to Medusa Palin.

1) I'm voting for Obama.
2) He is smart and reasonable, sees things from different sides and POV.
3) McCain was a brave soldier.

1) Obama
2) His stance on the war. (You asked for one, but I have many)
3) I admire McCain for his obvious love of this country. I admire Palin because it must be hard being looked at as a woman politician instead of just a politician.

1. I am voting for Barack Obama
2. I share the same values of social responsibility
3. I think John McCain served his country admirably.

I am voting for Obama because he believes in a woman's right to choose and supports homosexual marriage. I respect that John McCain spent 5 yrs in captivity as a POW.

I am supporting McCain.
I admire many of his qualities but especially his stand on the war in Iraq.
Obama is a wonderful speaker.

Great question! I like the idea of answering each question in a simple sentence!

1. I'm voting for McCain.

2. I strongly agree with his stance on domestic drilling for oil to release us from foreign dependency.

3. I agree with Obama's stance on sex education with the opt-out clause he described.

1. I am voting for Obama/Biden.
2. I am voting for them, honestly, because I consider them the lesser of two evils. Truth be told I don't like either candidate.
3. I like McCain's personality and sense of humor...um...um...ah!...I think Palin comes from a beautiful state and would love to visit there someday. (Sorry, best I could do.)

I'm voting for Obama/Biden

I like the vast majority of his platform, but especially his health care plan.

I highly respect Sen. McCain, he served with honor in Vietnam and when through a hell I can't even imagine. He then came home and served his country again in government. I don't like ideas, but I admire his commitment to his country.

1. I am voting for McCain.

2. I am voting for him because I feel he is the one person that can bring some unity back to our country as he has a record of working with both parties and isn't out to win a popularity contest.

3. I respect Obama's passion that all Americans should have access to affordable healthcare.

1. Obama/Biden

2. I feel they have a better pulse on the situations middle class people are facing right now; between the economy, healthcare, the war, etc., average citizens are struggling greatly.

3. I respect and admire McCain's perseverance in working towards the presidential office!

OP, great thread!! :thumbsup2

1. Obama/Biden
2. His position on health care.
3. I admire the service McCain has given to our country. I can't even fathom what he has gone through in his lifetime. And to still be able to stand up, and speak about it with grace, I admire that immensely.

1. I am voting McCain.
2. I agree with his stance on the War on Terror. I trust him to keep my family safe.
3. I think Obama is a very intelligent man.

1. Obama/Biden

2. The economy and healthcare are very important to my family and I, and I like where he stands those issues.
I think he will make a great diplomat and I believe that's what we need most right now.
I also like that he was against the war in Iraq from the beginning.

3. McCain was a great soldier and has served our country a long time as a Senator. I respect him a lot.

(1) I'm supporting John McCain.
(2) I disagree with Barack Obama's position on taxing the "rich" as he defines the term. I do not feel rich, however, I cross the $250,000 demarcation line. John McCain does not believe in forcing me to shoulder more of the load.
(3) I respect Obama's positions on a number of issues. I believe that more does need to be done in this country with respect to increasing the quality of life for everyone. My main disagreement with him stems from his position that only "rich" Americans have a responsibility to help make that happen. I believe that everyone should have responsibility for making the country better. Still, even though we disagree on that point I do think he has some excellent ideas, especially with respect to energy.
