Why do architects flip when walking through the World Showcase in EPCOT and why did it become an issue?

Righto on the first one!

You have totally stumped me...does it have something to do with the order of the countries if you were to actually plot them on a map?

Also, the tiles on spaceship earth are spaced about an inch apart, so they can expand and contract in the weather. Also, they serve to catch rainfall so that the structure doesnt become a waterfall in the rain. The caught rainwater is then sent through a drainage system and dumped into the lagoon.

Also, another fun tidbit about Spaceship Earth is that NONE of the triangular shaped tiles are perfectly identical. Talk about a giant puzzle! Also, the structure is self supporting (sorta). The leg supports only have to hold up half of the weight (top half) while the bottom of the sphere is self supporting and does not require extra support. This is why it is supported on the legs and not with a giant support down the middle which alows guest to walk right under it.

Here is a hint to my question: Italians who take pictures would flip as well...

I am guessing because Doge's Palace and the Campanile of St. Mark are reversed from where they actually stand in St. Marks Square in Venice, but I wasnt aware of any issues, come on fill us in!!!

Heres a new question

What is the name of the giant paddlewheel boat at the end of Splash Mountain?

Zip a Dee Lady

Some of Disney's roller coasters achieved firsts. What was Space Mountain's first?

It was the first dark coaster ever!

How much did the yeti at EE cost Walt Disney World? :cool1:

I think one question went unanswered. The Wicked Wench is the name of the ship that pirates are aboard.

Thanks!

Now back to the question at hand....I saw this in the travel channel show but I can't remember...

Let's get back to this one. I want to know.

Alright Andrew, fess up...everyone is dying to know the answer, or whether the one posted is the answer...

MetsFan11,

I give up...I have searched high and low online for the answer and can only come up with the cost of the ride in its entirety...just about 100 million dollars...thats some serious money spent!

So, whats the answer?

I don't know but I have always thought it ironic that the American Adventure is in between Germany and Italy on one side and Japan on the other, think WWII.
Anyway, whats the answer? Oh, yeah and the Yeti one too?

Alright, I'm going to post another question since we aren't getting answers for the two we need...hopefully the OP's will check in and give us the correct asnwers.

What US airport consulted WDI in creating their internal transportation system? Hint, check the Imagineering Guide to the Magic Kingdom.

Correct, the based the system on the People Mover at Magic Kingdom.

Do you, or anyone else, have a new question for us?

Since Spaceship Earth is known as the big golf ball, how many golf balls would equal the weight of Spaceship Earth?

That would be 158,000,000 :thumbsup2
new question what is wdw railroad keeping track of

What is so architecturally special about the Spaceship Earth Sphere?

I know part of this but not the specifics:

Because the buildings in Italy are opposite of how they are in the "real" country. Is it St. George Square? I can't remember the name of the "square" where the buildings are located but they reversed them by accident in EPCOT.

Remembered it!!! St. MARK'S Square in Venice.
