So in light of the news today that Flynn is being removed from WDW (and possibly Naveen too) I felt like they deserved their own thread. Well not just them, but ALL of the male characters that Disney seems to give so little credit to.
Share your photos (and stories too!) of the guys who bring a little silliness and smolder to the World - because the World needs more of them!

DD decided to take her own character photos on our last trip. Naveen could not stop hamming it up and coming up with pose after pose for her. He would say "now how 'bout one like 'dis?" "and then what about 'dis?" "oh oh, did you get that one?" He was a total hoot.

And Flynn....well, what can't you say about him! He is funny, full of himself, and totally charming. He's the first guy to make my 7 year old blush. She just adores him, and THIS wonderful CM will always be the "real Flynn" in our eyes. He is amazing! We were lucky to meet him in Nov '10, and again during our last trip May '11. I think seeing him again after so many months only convinced dd more that he was the "real" deal.

He also provided some lovely artwork :lmao: in our autograph book, and then told me how he had drawn something really special for me and was taking lessons from Rapunzel. He said he use to only draw a turkey with his hand, but he was getting better thanks to her. I jokingly said "so I can probably sell this on ebay, right?" and he replied "yes, probably!" :thumbsup2

When we walked away I looked at the book and there was a funny stick figure drawing of he and rapunzel, with him climbing up the tower with her hair. The scowl on her little stick figure face still makes me laugh.

I don't have anything to post, I just wanted to say I love this idea! I agree that the "Boys" don't always get enough attention. I think it would be great to see pics and hear stories of how that made someone's trip special.

Also, I had no idea they were removing Flynn from MK! So sad!

ETA: I love his smolder in that picture! Priceless!

I love Prince Naveen. Last june me and DH was at WDW to celebrate our honeymoon. Well i like to get character autographs, yes i am an adult and still like getting the autographs. Well we waited to meet Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. While they were signing my book they saw that we had met Cinderella and the next part of the conversation i will never forget.

Tiana: So you met Cinderella?
Me: yeah
Naveen: What about what's his name prince...?
Me: Charming
Naveen: That is not a name, it's a adjective.

I will never forget that. Me and DH still laugh about it to this day.

LOL, so true!!! At least Flynn & Naveen are real characters and not just unnamed "hero" who swept in and saved the poor girl and made her a princess. But I guess guys with names and personalities aren't important enough to keep around.

Adding these photos from our first Tangled meet in Nov. '10. DD took the photo of Flynn herself. :lovestruc

I always love the perspective you get from a child's viewpoint!

You know I think that's the main problem with all the princes before The little mermaid came along. They were all so Blah and boring! Snow White's prince also doesn't have a name, they are there because they have too be. They are so absent in the movies that you don't miss them when they are gone.

However, after Mermaid they became not only part of the story but an essential part of it. They talk, are angry and make their presence known in the stories. Without them the movies wouldn't be the same, and that's why is so frustrating to see them being taken away.

So in that line let me just add that I hate that most boys stuff is related to Pirates. My nephews are not completely sold out in the pirates stuff and prefer the super hero type of character. The princes fit perfectly with their train of thought. They like the idea that they have a kingdom, and are in charge of stuff, or that they, as they say, save the day. Boys are an untapped market that apparently marketing people hasn't realize it exists.

Yes pirates tend to be thieves and villains in their own right...even if we like them, they aren't "good" guys. At the princes can be positive role models for them.

DD still can't get over meeting the princes at the Christmas party. Especially since Snow White's prince signed his name "The Prince." She will still look at her autograph book and say "what in the world is that!!! he's just THE PRINCE???"

I hadn't heard they were getting rid of the boys! That's awful. We loved Prince Naveen and Prince Eric. DD was so excited about meeting Flynn next time.

Most of the characters we met were amazing but it made the little girls feel so special when the prince would tell them they're beautiful. Although we thought Prince Charming was a little odd. DD did not care for him at all!

Great Pictures. I don't have any of Flynn since we have never met him :(
