Let's hear about about L & M car rental

and we had very little trouble with L&M. When we arrived at the counter the car was not ready for us, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes. The car we were assigned was a 2002 Toyota Corrola (economy class). It was very nice (still looked like a new car, and so did all of their other cars that we saw). The staff was courteous; however, most of them had accents that were very hard to understand. We were asked to show our insurance card when we declined the insurance. Like someone mentioned earlier, they do charge $4.99 a gallon for gas, so make sure you return it on full. Gas prices ranged from .95 to $1.05 in the Orlando area. We were able to complete the return paperwork in the garage. This took just a few minutes.

We booked through Travelocity, which was $10 cheaper than booking through L&M's website. Their website says that you will get a 10% discount if you call and mention the website.

We will definitely use them again- their prices seem hard to beat. We have also found great rates at Payless, but they are outside of the airport terminal.

Why don't you change your status to DIS Senior Citizen

My profile will not let me change that line. I was going to put in

"The second coming of Disnydad!" :D

Maybe I need more posts to do that?

We used L&M in December - got a KIA Sephia minivan for $149 for the week, which was substantially less than anyone else had. Car was in great shape; we declined insurance but were not asked for proof of ours.

Just one other customer in line when we got the car, but a bit of a backlog when we returned it in the garage. Returning took maybe 10 minutes. We did not have to go into the terminal to complete any return stuff.

For the savings, I'd take them any day. :-)

Dumb question - where are they located? Do they come and get you and return you to the airport? How convenient are they? I have some horror stories of offsite rentals. Thanks for any help!!!

Thanks for the great tip on L&M car rental. After reading this thread several days ago I decided to make a reservation on their Website. They said I would receive an email confirmation within 12 to 24 hours but I never did receive one. So I followed it up with an email note to their reservations area and still have not heard from them. So, today I went to the Travelocity Website and made a reservation through them for L&M. I'm glad I did because not only did I receive written confirmation but I wound up getting a better price for the same days and car category. Savings of over $20!

Yeh, they seem to be a little slow on the web. Obviously, judging by confirmation numbers, just getting it off the ground. I'm sure that will change...

Yeah, I got a real low number when I made mine. It's ........... Thought I was going to tell you?

Just checked Travelocity for an intermediate at L&M. The price of $78.50/wk and $13.50/day was better than L&M's direct web site by over $30.

How do you change the car type on travelocity. I noticed it is automatically assigning me to an economy car and i'd like to have a full size quoted. I want to see if travelocity web site with L & M beats the $18 a day rate that i got for full size directly from L & M site. thanks.

I went to the L&M web site and put in my dates. The rate for a full size came up $147. before taxes. National's rate is $120.93 before taxes. Guess National has them beat this time!:)

Donna,

On travelocity, hit "more search options" under the box. Then put in your dates, change the car size and change the featured partners to "+others". I got $18.50 "estimated weekend daily rate" for your dates.

Pluto4President....thanks for starting this thread!! Its seems that L&M is going to be a great alternative to some of the other companies at MCO. Has anyone noticed how much their rates have gone up in the last week or so? I reserved a compact for 11 days in April/May and got a rate wlky for$65.80 . It has more than doubled now. I hope everyone who does try them out lets us all know how it goes.

well DVC Don is there now, we'll have to hear is report upon return. I try them out on Saturday...

I rented from L&M on Tuesday, January 15. I had gotten a price of 114.83 for 10 days
for a mid sized car. When I checked the web site again it had gone up to 174. In had
printed out my rate and brought it with me. I have to say In would highly recommend
them. There was no line & it took about 5 minutes. They said they upgraded me to full
size a Kia Optima. When we got the car we realized there was no radio antena so I
went back and they gave me a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant with jut 1200 miles on it. Even with
having to get another car it only took about 20 minutes.

We are leaving on the 28th and rented with L&M THRU travelocity which was cheaper than their web site..for just me & hubby got an economy for 62.50 which I thought was pretty good..with all the extra stuff added on I think maybe about 100. which is pretty good for the week...have fun Pluto and I will let everyone here know what happened after I get back..Marianne :earsgirl:
