Lets go Steelers!!!!!!!!!!

Dear all,

I started the anti Steelers thread and I guess I got what I deserved. I should've expected the flames (being called snarky (good one btw) and there are other tame bad comments about me on there. I was listening to the parade and got to thinking about how the Hawks fans might be feeling right about now. Pretty bummed. I don't want to get too over winded here. The following is what I just posted on the Hawks thread I started (I'll provide the link below).

"You know what, I really didn't have the intentions for this thread to turn out like it has. So, I am sticking out my hand to say, good game Seahawks. There are so many bigger problems, why does this have to be another one in the DIS community. I apologize for MY ______ you fill in the blanks that you feel necessary to be there. It truly wasn't my intention for this to get ugly. Feelings were riding high after the game from every one. You know, the bible talks about no one being righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10) and you know what I went over the line. The line (or post) was drawn and I crossed it. I know Jesus forgives me now and I hope eventually you all will too.

This behaviour is not what I want my children to pick up. As a parent, you understand this comment as well. So, I will not be crossing the line any more here or else where ever.

I've come to post what I want to say. I am truly sorry (I'm shaking) and remorseful. I do hope the Hawks get to where they were on Sunday again soon. Flame away if you want. I am truly done.

This post will be posted over on the Lets Go Steelers thread as well w/ little modification.

Sincerely,
taeja71"

I started thinking about the plank that was in my eye compared to the specks I saw in other eyes today. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? MATTHEW 7:3 NIV

Are you kidding me? I watched for an hour and I missed Bettis!?!?

Someone came in my office when Hines was talking and when I was able to get it back it's over :badpc:

What did Jerome have to say?

please view my post above lovetheparks. thanks all.

taeja, I'm sure you know as well as most of us, we've been waiting a veeeeeeery long time for this. Heck, I've been waiting my whole life! When it actually happened emotions are running really high and stupid stuff is said. Bottom line, people are going to think what they want to think, but the trophy isn't going anywhere but Heinz Field along with the rest of them. It's cool that you admitted you got out of hand and I hope that others will respect that. And now, I for one am going back to the place I like to call, Steeler Euphoria. :)

As promised - some pics from the parade! (My batteries began to die so I didn't get a pic of Big Ben  )

HayGan - thanks for posting the picture of the Gateway Band! My DS wasn't in the picture, but then I didn't get a pic of him, either.

I was on 5th ave in front of Kaufmann's, and it was a total, complete zoo. No police, everybody swarming the cars with the players. Unreal. The "parade" was more like a snail's crawl. Fun, though.

I'll see if I have time to get some of my pix uploaded so I can post them here. I couldn't get a shot of Bettis' face, either - I have 2 nice pix of his arm holding the trophy, but no face!

Better start dinner.....2 hungry boys in my house!

Some pictures my DH took of the parade this afternoon, what struck him the most was how young all of the players looked (I told him he was just getting old, LOL):

Thanks for sharing. A friend of mine that lives in Pgh. said they didn't have the names on the trucks so it was hard to know who everyone was.

yeah, my DH had that problem. He mentioned that at one point, there was a car full of guys and he didn't know Palomalu was in it until one of the guys pulled off his hat (he had his hair tucked in)...the crowd went crazy when they realized he was in the car.

Dang! I tried uploading my pix from the parade, but they're too large. Have a rehearsal tonight, so I won't get a chance to post anything until at least tomorrow.

I agree that the players should have either worn their game jerseys or had thei rnames on the cars so we'd know who was who. I just took a whole bunch of pix and hoped my kids could tell me who it was!

Ok, now let's hope that the city-pride will spill over to getting the Penguins a new arena! (Sorry, off-topic)

This is 1 of 2 similar images of the two opposing coaches together (pre game S.B. shot?). I did a GOOOOOOOOOgle search and it came up w/ this and the other.
I think this is as close as the coaches got to each other that day. when, who knows? here's a link to the article and below is the pic.http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.theconservativevoice.com/ap/img/SB15902052229.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.theconservativevoice.com/ap/article.html%3Fmi%3DD8FJ8M280%26apc%3D9009&h=375&w=512&sz=47&tbnid=aSRRU0vfR7Y1DM:&tbnh=93&tbnw=128&hl=en&start=11&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsuper%2Bbowl%2Bxl%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D]Google result[/URL]

Thanks for the pictures....I would have given anything for me and my kids to be there!

My five year old high-fived Polamalu. Troy and his friends were sitting on top of the car, rockin' it back an forth and just having a great time. All the players were so happy and close enough to touch. Hines Ward looked like he was going to cry when everyone was chanting, "MVP." Joey Porter signed all kinds of autographs. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad we braved the traffic and went down, but DH's camera ran out of batteries after Cowher passed, so, we have no good pictures.

I think we were close to PAW's husband.
