Lets go for the opposite: most adventurous dishes at Disney

I know I won't be going to Disneyworld soon, (but with free dining I might be able to pull something out) Me and my friends were talking about it and we are 3 guys and 1 girl, the girl doesn't care about food much and will eat mostly some type of salad everywhere, one of the guys loves to try new foods everywhere he goes. My dad is a chef so I always try to order something that my dad couldn't make for me. The last guy is a human garbage disposal that is happy with massive amounts of food to eat, and with the DDP he will probably just order something random and finish off all extra appetizers and deserts the rest of us don't finish.
Now that you have the background, what are some of the more adventurous dishes there our at Disney, lets get away from all the plain and picky eaters and go toward those who love the tastes of truely good food.

Got to try Victoria & Alberts. The antewlope I had there was great. Many dishes where I simply didn't know what exactly I was eating, but great!

Most of the food at Jiko--while maybe not truly adventurous--is a bit different.

I would LOVE to know some places with adventurous dishes. I've tend to come to think that most food at Disney is for "mass appeal / mass marketing".

The sushi served at the few places I have been to has been just average faire. Epcot offers the World Showcase, but then again....I think a lot of it is different but far from adventurous.

V&A certainly has some more "exotic" offers, and we love it there, but I would say we're at a loss as to other places (beside Jiko.....which as Uncleromulus says is different, but probably not adventurous)

DH and I are adventerous/exotic eaters, and I also love to cook, so when I go on vacation or out to eat anywhere, I'm always looking for new ideas I can incorporate at home. Another end of the spectrum for me is to order meals that I know I could never prepare at home.

I've never been to V&A, but after all I've read, DH and I are looking forward to trying it. I am curious about the wines, tho. Are they just like a "tasting" or do you get a good-sized glass of wine with each course? Either way, we'd still like to try it.

Another vote for Jiko. I love mac & cheese and I love filet...but I would have never thought to put filet on mac & cheese! Plus, the wine sauce they serve it with is very unusual. This dish actually turned us on to both drinking and cooking with South African wines.

The appetizers at Jiko are also very interesting. I just love the microgreens they put on their flatbreads. I had no idea you could eat, say, a radish when it was just a little bud.

We were lucky, too, I believe with our servers. Both were so knowledeable and helpful. They each explained every ingredient in our dishes we ordered. One even let me go back home with their wine list after she put stars next to the wines we ordered with our meals and underlined other wines on the list we might enjoy back home. The same server also gave me the number of several South African wine distributors who cover central Florida, who were able to tell me where in north Florida I could find these wines.

IMO, Jiko really took care of us, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

oh, when i went to disneyworld last we skipped animal kingdom b/c my cousin hated it before and since i was there families guest i did whatever they wanted (he is spoiled rotten and gets what he wants) anyways AKL restaurants do seem like they would be awesome, and the buffet esspecially for my friend who just likes massive amounts of food, only problem is that he probably wouldn't let us leave for a long while. also what about world showcase morroco? is it americanized and stuff or semilegit.

hmmm, lets see Boma has some pretty tasty stuff, Spoodles - is good, Morocco definitely, Jiko and Artist Point are both excellent!!!

We've never done the pairings because you do indeed get a glass. Too afraid we wouldnt be able to walk out after a glass with each course!
