Lets give a BIG THANKS to DIS boards!!!

Hey Everyone,
I have been on the Dis Boards for a few years now and I know that without it I would have missed so many codes,etc. Knowing about the Disney Free Dine was a big help for us. I really wanted to take my family to WDW again!! And knowing early about the FD helped not only talk my DH into going but also his mom and dad!!
So I just wanted to say a BIG Thank You to DIS boards and those on it who really help us with info!!!

The list is too long to include everything, but most recently thanks for the heads up on free dining dates (so I could make ADR's even before booking the trip), on advance booking dates for Disney VISA cardholders (so I could make sure to get a Disney VISA 2 months ago), and most of all, thanks to all who were there with me on hold for over an hour at 4 am Monday morning. Being in it together almost made the wait fun.

This is exactly what I told my dh last night. I have been a Disney Visa holder for several years. I did not get the email about the FD, I did not get a postcard in the mail like I have many times before, and I even got my bill Tues or WEd and there was nothing advertising it there. If it weren't for DIS there is NO way I would have known about the discount. I had a great time hanging out online with the other callers on hold Monday morning!

YES!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I have learned SO MUCH from these boards in the last 2 years. And now our Grand Gathering is FREE DINING!! Only problem is, now that I'm used to checking 100 times a day because of the free dining info, I can't stop.

I have to agree! I feel bad for the people who go and have no idea about the money they could've saved, among other things that we all learn from the DIS.

For example...

Last summer, DBF and I were in MGM complaining about how crowded it got after free dining rolled in (we are AP holders so did not get free dining.) Anyway, I started chatting up with a woman who was saying she also thought it was very crowded and they had arrived on Sunday (the first day of free dining.) I asked if she was on the dining plan and she said it was too expensive.

Me: You know it's free, right?

Woman:

I felt soooo bad for her!

And just think about the 1000's that are not on the boards everyday. LOL

I almost didn't post when I first saw the free dining rumor on March 16 because I would have hated to get people excited about something that might not be true. That thread had 53055 views and 717 replies and, thankfully, turned out to be accurate, so I am very glad that I did. I hope it helped people with their plans and I love reading about the great deals that so many have gotten by sharing information on this board.
