Let's get this party started!!! 2 weeks of food, pics, and fun!!! **UPDATE 2/20**

Geese, I'm gone for a day, and I feel like I missed so much!!! Great start to your report!!! I am so glad that you heard from your brother Toni!!! Must be the best feeling in the world!!! Horray for Photopass CD!!! That came really quick!!! Talk to you soon!!

On the day of our departure to the airport hotel, Terry had to work 11a-8p...

:sad2:

Our printer ran out of ink as we printed the first boarding pass... :scared1: SO for the next 45 minutes Terry tried to figure out a way to get them printed while being too cheap to actually buy the ink cartridge... He had just upgraded out windows to Vista so our lazor jet wouldn't work and he couldn't get them to print off his Dad's printers next door... So after me threatening bodily harm for the first time this trip, he finally went and bought the ink cartridge... We are not even on the road yet and El Cheapo has reared his ugly head... :headache:

Sorry, I'm sure it wasn't funny and the time, but

At this point it is time to take Terry to work, so I become the worst mother on the planet, and I lie to my daughter... Daddy's truck won't start and we have to take him to work... She bought it and even shed a few tears for Daddy's truck...

:lmao:

Once we got home from dropping Terry off at work, we got Tailor's room all cleaned up and vacuumed the house, cleaned bathrooms... You know, the fun stuff... ;) Then I started loading the van... Made sure the hotel address was in Ellie Mae, our Garmin...

How funny that you named the GPS! When we were in Nice, Tigger named the GPS "Junklies" (the voice on the GPS was John Cleese - the boy heard Junklies and that was that LOL). Has your GPS been to Beverly? Hills, that is. Swimming pools and movie stars. :rotfl:

I was all set and ready by 2... I watched TV until 3:30 when Alec got home, helped him get his room cleaned, homework done, and unload his backpack and reload it with his plane entertainment... By 4:30 I was ready to leave Terry behind and have him meet us at the hotel when he got off work... :rotfl:

I soooooo know how you felt!

I spent the next hour and a half watching TV and DISing... At 6pm, Terry calls and says, "Come get me!" :woohoo: His Captain was probably tired of hearing him talk about vacation! :lmao: So I throw the kids in the car and lied to Alec about the whole truck/luggage thing...

Bahahahahaha!

I drove like a wild woman to pick him up... I packed an extra set of clothes so he could change and not be in his uniform all night, so after he changes, we head to Wendy's and have a very healthy meal of hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and baked potatoes...

Hey, the baked potatoes were healthy

We threw on our bathing suits and went to the pool... The kids love swimming and they had a blast... We swam for about an hour... We even sat in the hot tub for a few minutes but that water was HOT!!!

Great way to start your vacation! :woohoo:

Ellie Mae took us right to it, and we order salad bars and bread sticks... The kids took off and played, they were the only 2 in there... I guess we are the only bad parents who had their kids out after 10p on a school night... :confused3

Nope, it's not just you! :rolleyes1

Our wake up call was set for 3am... My cell phone was set for 2:45am and Terry's cell phone was set for 3:10... We were not going to over sleep! Or were we???

You do that too? I set multiple alarms for important stuff :upsidedow

Next up: How long is this flight???? Seriously....

Yep, it sure does seem really really long, doesn't it?! :headache:

Today is the day we have been waiting for!!! We're going to Disney World!!!:banana::banana:

I was out of bed by 2:45am... Got showered and cleaned up followed by Terry... We got the kids done the night before so we would not have to wake them any earlier then needed...

WAKE UP SLEEPY HEADS!!! IT'S GO TIME!!! :cool1:

One we were ready and all packed up, the kids saw something by the door... What could it be?? Why, a Tink fart of course... :tinker:

3987896557_2a7d1dcf75_b.jpg

They thought it was the coolest thing that Tink gave them video games for the plane ride...

Terry left to take our overnight bag out to the van, while the kids and I attempted to get a luggage cart and load our massive amount of bags onto it... Alec went to take the elevator down to get the luggage cart, well, he shows back up a minute later without a luggage cart... Says that the elevator is broken it never came up to the second floor to get him... I look at him for a second, dumbfounded, cause I have to lug 10 bags down a flight of stairs at the opposite end of the corridor, then all of the sudden he goes, OH! Opps, I forgot to push the button... :rolleyes1

So, down he goes to get the luggage cart, we get it loaded and into the elevator, while Tailor is whining the whole time that she is tired... T.S. sister, we all are. Keep on movin'...

Terry meets us in the lobby and we wait a few minutes for the shuttle van to pull up... It's just us and a lady who has sold everything she owed to move to England to start over again... She was very nice, but you could tell she was nervous... I would have been too!

We arrived at the airport at 4am. Got our luggage tags from the Delta counter and gave them our checked bags. We made our way to our gate and got comfortable, then Terry went got us breakfast... It was very good, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and biscuits... I normally can't eat before traveling but I was starving! This trip was a lot different for me, my nerves never got out of whack... It was so nice!

Our flight boarded 30 minutes before departure, and we flew out on time. I sat by the window with Alec beside me, while Terry was behind Alec with Tailor behind me... Next to Alec was a lady who had 2 companion dogs with her... They were too cute and they took a liking to Alec and he cuddled with them and they napped on his lap... About 2 hours before we landed in Atlanta, Tailor realized there were puppies up with us so she traded me seats and sat by her brother. The kids did really well sitting together... Terry was able to snap a few photos out the window...

Our flight landed 15 minutes late in Atlanta, only leaving us 15 minutes to get to our next gate before boarding the new plane... We got off the plane and our stroller was not there... We are told to go up to the gate... We do, no stroller... Terry asks the Delta agent and she says to go back down the ramp and it will get there, now we were not in the front of the plane by any means, I have always had the strollers waiting for me when I got off a plane... So Terry turns to go down the ramp and a TSA agent yells at him in a huge attitude that if he takes another step he will be breaching security... He asks how he will get his stroller... She starts lecturing about national security and how it is no laughing matter... By this point Terry is getting irritated, he was just doing what he was told to do by Delta people, so he asks again how she would like him to get his stroller, she replies, "Not by you breaching security and missing your next flight dealing with it..." He says, "Are YOU going to go get my stroller??" By this point the Delta agent has heard all of it, apologizes to Terry and asks the TSA agent if she can go retrieve our stroller and that because of the pouring down rain the guys are not working on the ground getting them, so it's not Terry's fault, he was following the directions of the other Delta agent at the plane doors... So the TSA lady huffs and puffs and says fine, so the Delta lady is gone a few minutes, and the TSA lady decides she wants to be friendly now... Anyway, we get our stroller and we are hustling to get to the next gate which is not even remotely close to where our previous flight landed...

We get there and they are already boarding... There are 2 TSA guys checking ID's and boarding passes, they have 2 lines going and people are just kinda forming into 2 lines when they get to that point, not really organized at all... So Delta calls for all rows to board and a huge mob goes up there, and we are in the middle of it, well one of the TSA guys decides to stop checking ID's right when me and the kids are in front of him with our stuff out and ready... He yells at me that there are not 2 lines! I'm like, okay, where do you want me to go? I have at least 40 to 50 people behind me and all around me... He starts yelling at everyone that the line goes to the left... Dude, there are rows of chairs to the left.. :confused3 How are all of these people going to line right there? It was obvious that we were all where the line should be forming, but noone was in a "formed" line... Terry got irritated cause the guy yelled at me and the kids... And for him this was strike 2 with rude TSA people... So he mouths off and I give him the look of death that says, I will leave your butt behind if they decide to pull you into a room and strip search you... He says something to the extent that if both guys would check the documents like they were before that things would be running smoother... He TSA guy piped off with "Are you trying to tell me how to do my job???" Terry responds, "Well if you did things more efficiently maybe you wouldn't need to yell at people who are just following what you guys have been having them do for the last 15 minutes..." Oh how the TSA guy didn't like that one... All I could think of was Meet the Parents... "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb... Bomb, Bomb, Ba-Bomb..." People ended up getting in between Terry and I and I had his boarding pass... :scared1: Luckily the lady at the gate scanning the boarding passes knew he was with me and that I had his pass and she had already scanned it... I didn't even realize he wasn't with us until he met us on the plane...

Flight to MCO was nice, way shorter then the flight from PDX to ATL... We landed on time at 4:25pm... We made our way down to the Magical Express Area and walked right onto a bus... It was a FULL bus too... This is when the kids starting getting excited... :yay::yay:

Next up: Our arrival at Pop!!!

We got lucky and we were the 1st stop on Magical Express!!

Here is our first glimpse of Pop...

3988657372_af5acb3485_b.jpg

We arrived at Pop about 5:30 which I didn't think was too bad since we landed at 4:25...

We got in line and there was nobody in front of us, we had done the online check in, so we only had to get our folder... We had paid for a preferred room, and got the very last one in the 70's section... 4th floor, room 6401... The people in the room on the other side of the giant Mickey phone was considered non-preferred... O-well, being there for 2 weeks, it was worth the money to me to guarantee a room not far away from everything... We really liked the location, it was quiet and being on the 4th floor, nobody was up there unless they needed to be...

We got our bags to the room and Terry went in search of our 2 cases of water we had ordered, and the box of snacks we had shipped... I started unpacking everything... What a job that was!

Pop brought up the medical fridge for me, and it was the standard fridge that they rent out... This ended up being a good thing because the fridge I snagged on the swap had gone missing... I tried for the 2 weeks we were there to locate it but no such luck...

We were all starving at this point so we headed down to the food court for dinner... Alec got a pizza, Terry got nachos, I got chicken alfredo, and Tailor just ate off of ours and stole my chocolate cake!!! I love the chicken alfredo and that was a meal I ate a few times during the trip...

Now, last year, Alec bought a refillable mug on the first day we got there... He also bought one for his sister, every once in a while they are nice to each other.. :cloud9: So, this year, she wanted to buy one for him... It was so cute... She was so excited when she went and got them and brought his to him... It was almost like the horns that stick out of her head went back in a little...

We headed back to the room and I finished unpacking, then we all got ready to head to the Hippy Dippy pool...

You should all feel very special because I hate having my picture taken, but you will actually see pictures of me in the report... And if any of you have weak stomachs, look away now, cause I am in a bathing suit! :scared1::eek::scared1:

After about an hour and a half in the pool, we decided to head back to the room... We headed in the direction of the little kiddie pool with the pop up jets...

Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go... :rolleyes1 :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

After the kiddie pool, we got back to the room and got all cleaned up and ready for bed... We had an early morning at Crystal Palace!

When I went to climb into bed, I found someone had stolen my spot!! The nerve of a rude person to get all into my nice clean sheets... And to top it off, my husband was in my bed... So I did what any normal wife would do, call the person a homewrecker and grab them by the hair and drag them out of the bed... Here is the floozy now... :headache:

Next up: 6am Florida time is 3am Oregon time...

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
He does get around....I found him sleeping with my dh a few times too.

Oh, I've never heard a man called a floozy before...usually that's reserved for women.:rotfl2:

I love that you son "forgot " to push the button!

Sounds like you had an interesting time getting to Florida, you must have been happy to be done with airplanes and tsa agents for awhile.

The water jet pics are too funny

Great, great pictures so far! You guys have already captured some great moments! Looking forward to seeing more.

Don't get me started with TSA. While I believe there are some nice (and good) TSA agents out there, I have come across so many that seem to abuse the "power/authority" they have (and the guys at MCO are the WORST). I'd like to know how the TSA screens for new agents.

(bomb ba-ba-bomb, ba-bomb-ba-bomb-bomb) - :lmao: that's a great scene!

That bed was so comfortable..;)

I would quote those pix in the pool, but.....too funny!!!!!!!!

Why are people are sooo grumpy....Those TSA,while doing their jobs, could spread a bit of happiness.....:)

OK, let's see if I remember what I meant to post

Adorable pictures of the kids and the Tink fart (LOL) at the hotel! Poor Alec, a wee bit tired that morning, methinks!

Sorry about the rude TSA agents - honestly, WHY do some of them feel it's in their job description to be so bloody rude?!

I'm glad you managed to catch your connection alright - boy, did I stress about that beforehand!

I  the ME video too - it's like the official start of vacation! Nice ME mojo :thumbsup2

Bummer your fridge swap didn't work out :sad2: How sweet that the kids bought each other mugs :goodvibes

I hate having my picture taken too (perhaps despise is a better word for how I feel about that!). You, however, look lovely in the pictures princess:

Hilarious pictures in the kiddie pool - nice J tribute too :lmao:

That Jordan sure gets around! I believe he's slept with Winkers' dh too - darn that floozy :rotfl:

Yep, that time difference is RUDE the first morning! :scared1:

For those of you....cough...Lisa & Toni....cough, who don't like getting your picture taken, please make sure you get alot of you and your kids. I say this because I have absolutley zero of me and my mom. She died when I was 15 months old and was sick from the time I was a newborn, so no one ever took any of us together.

So, because of that I've always made sure there are alot of me with my kids. I'm sure I'll do something else that will send them to years of therapy....

Ugh... Winkers... :hug::hug::hug:

That just made me cry... As much as I hate pictures of me, I do allow them to be taken, but believe me, there will now be a lot more... :flower3:

More hugs just because I can...:hug::hug::hug:

:grouphug: to you, my friend.

Yes, I have had pictures taken with my boys and dh (a few of which will be in my TR), but I didn't like having the pictures taken  Of course, now every time I balk at having my picture taken, I'm going to think of you and I'll let the pictures be taken

Sounds like you guys are off to a great start! :) Ugh...don't get me started on TSA either. I would love to know the hiring process for most of the agents.

Sorry to hear yall had such a hard time with TSA. Guess thats one reason I am glad I live close enough to WDW to drive.
I like the pictures out the window of the plane! Nice! The picture of your son and the water jet is priceless!!! :lmao: Shame on Jordy for jumping in the sack with your hubby!! I can tell this is going to be a good source of laughter!! Keep it coming! :thumbsup2

Just getting caught up on your trip report. We are leaving in 2 weeks for POP and I'm getting excited. We have never stayed at a value. But we couldn't pass up the free dining and cheap airfare. We were going to stay moderate but have put that money towards are cruise for next year. Can't wait for your next update.
