I think I messed up the poll-I voted but I've never gotten a code. However, I got a 40% one in my mom's name last year or the year before.

The whole code thing really gets to me, and I think I'm tired of playing the code game. I try onsite, and if it doesn't fit the budget, we go offsite. We have found a hotel that sleeps 5 very comfortably with a free full breakfast just offsite, and that will work for us. Maybe if we stay there enough times, we'll get a code! :)

I've never stayed onsite and haven't been to the World in over 15 years (live on the West Coast and go to Disneyland). Don't hate me, but I got a 40% code in my email. It was in my junk folder and I almost missed it. My best friend had just invited me to join her and her parents this Sept and the code says it's valid then. *fingers crossed* that our dates are available.

Good luck to everyone else!

I JUST received a post card today!

It was for a 40%!!!

Our trip this August will be our 3rd visit to the World in a row!!

I asked the CM if it was b/c I ordered a planning dvd and she "No, this was a random mailing...it's like winning the lottery!"

I wonder if they HAVE to say that?:confused3

there just doesn't seem to be ANY rhyme or reason to the elusive code.

I've been to Disney 3 times. We stayed on site each time. I always get code rates. Some are email codes some come in the mail. The funny thing is I never get one when I have a trip planned. :lmao:

I've never paid rack rate for our trips. (summer, Easter and spring break). Each time I was able to use a general public code.

I don't think we'll ever to be able to figure out how all the codes work. I know in the past some were based on race.

The code I used for our first trip was advertised in a Spanish magazine. Someone here found the code and posted it. The code was targeted for a certain market, but anyone was able to use it.

I've seen codes advertised in Ebony and Essence magazines.
They have issued codes based on residence. A few years ago there were codes for those living in southern states.
I believe a few of the things they base codes on are number of visits, family make up, place of residence and ethnicity.
