Let's Engage in Wild Speculation

And for what it's worth, while it currently seems possible, I don't want/need to put the kids on the DxDP to cover adult meals. I know nothing is stopping people (currently, with the speculated changes), but I don't necessarily agree with the ideology... But, I also count items in my shopping cart, and if it's over 10, I'm not in the express checkout!

I don't think they are officially going to announce any changes. I think when they publish the new brochure, they will make slight changes to the information based the reported changes. In the brochure, they specifically state you cannot use credits for those on the plan. My speculation is that they just leave that note off, rather than specifically stating that you can. I think they can make other small changes to the brochure that would cover those changes that have also been reported.

Just for the record, I have absolutely no problem with trying to find the best way to save money within the system (i.e. I was planning on having to go through QS lines twice to buy adult meals if necessary). And it seems that with sharing DxDP you could really save some money the way people are talking about doing it. I just think Disney may not make it kosher once they realize how smart people are! :) And yes, they may just slightly adjust the wording rather than make a big announcement. I think it will really depend on the philosophy behind any proposed changes.

I can definitely see this as a possibility for some of the changes, but why wouldn't Disney want to announce that people have options other than dessert? Seems like great PR when so many people say they won't buy the plan because they don't want dessert with every meal...

It's funny, I posted at one point about ordering an adult entree such as a pasta bowl with a credit and splitting it for my two kids in order to save a few credits for use later. I was told I was posting about breaking Disney rules, got my hand smacked and my thread locked. I could not help but laugh as I see ALL SORTS of people talk about creative use of meal plans on these boards, most all of them going into grey areas. I agree that if Disney is allowing it, then it hardly constitutes rule breaking. The examples I have seen here above are good ones of creative use of credits. Ultimately, if Disney does not like it, they'll put a stop to it.
