Lets brag about ourselves!!!!

I know more about cars then most males. I can diagnose them, repair them, can smell a blown headgasket a mile away...

Totally God-given: I can quickly discern the heart of the matter, how a person is thinking, feeling, and the direction they need to go.

I was recently selected as one of the 20 best professional boxing officials in the world. I have been a pro judge since 1979 and it's good to be recognized by your peers in such a positive manner.

I went to your website! Wow, I'm blown away by your talent. Everything is beautiful.

Thank you so much!

I am not the best quilter but I do love it. Thought I'd share a picture of my latest creation with you. It's a big guy 80x103 and was recently accepted to be in a juried quilt show. Very exciting for me!

You are too modest! That's a fantastic quilt and congrats on the show! I used to work at a quilt shop and have seen a ton of quilts, that's a beauty.

Have you ever said to yourself, "I'm the best at _______!!!!" ?

Actually, no. But there was a time - a looooong time ago! - when I used to sign notes to friends, "My Name, the great of course!" :p

So, brag about yourself a little bit. What are you the best at?

1. Saying a lot yet saying nothing at all -- and with a rather limited vocabulary to boot! At times, doing it really fast.

2. In my adult years, I've excelled at living according to one simple maxim:

If at first I don't succeed: fail, fail again! :upsidedow

3. Turning a reasonable, "simple" endeavor into an out-of-control, "neverending" monster (just survived another one of these - barely :faint: - and I'm still not sure if DH is going to pull through this time... ;))

I'm the best at being a total dork(like dancing to KC and the Sunshine Band in Old Navy just to embarrass my DD's). I am good at packing the van for vacation. I am a pretty good baker and make a mean pie from time to time :) . I'm good at eating. I'm great at bargain shopping! I'm good at writing(can't tell from my posts, but I have received straight A's in two college writing courses).

What a great idea for a thread!

Ok...

1. I am a good planner/organizer--I thrive on it.

2. I am good at listening to people and giving advice (when asked). Many people say that they feel like they can tell me anything and that I don't judge.

3. I am a good finder....my son and/or DH can ask me where anything is and I can find it in an instant.

4. I have an excellent memory. I can remember things that were said years ago (can be a bad thing).

5. I give great massages.

6. and I am a good thread killer..so this will probably be the end of this thread. :)

I'm impressed!! Congratulations!

For a nice Irish boy from Brooklyn, I am ONE GREAT ITALIAN cook! :ssst: Don't tell Marie Barone!

However I am a IT guy for 28 years, and developed a process & code for something that is familiar in every household in America!!!! Contractually I can't really tell you excatly what that is....and really most people don't care...but I worked very hard on this & was very happy with the results.

Did you ever get a envelope in the mail to buy magazines, and they also told you that you MIGHT be the NEXT millionare in their CONTEST announced on TV? Some of the papers in the enveloped are seemingly 'handwritten" on post-its & personlized with YOUR NAME????? Even though you KNOW it's all computerized!

Well I developed the whole software process for this company to be able to do that!!!!!!
Also, if you ever get mailings from your retirement company with the BARCODES on the side.....thats me too! It dont really mean anything to you...but it saves the COMPANY MAJOR $$$$ processing cost, etc.

My oddest specialty: I have a great mind for dates. Like when a friend says "My first date was to see the premier of the original Friday the 13th movie." I'd say, "Oh, that was May 9, 1980." Birthdays, anniversaries, first steps, getting a drivers lisence...you tell me when it happened, and I'll remember it (almost) forever.

My most ordinary specialty: I'm a compulsive planner/organizer. No, make that organizer/planner.

My nicest specialty: I can hold a pleasant conversation with any stranger in any situation. You name it.

My proudest specialty: I don't judge. I'll give everyone the benefit of the doubt...but only twice.

And my favorite specialty: I LOVE old people. The older the better. I'd die happy if I could get to meet everyone born before 1925.

I'm an awesome soprano...
I'm good at yoga...
I make really great Mexican food...
I'm very patient...
I can read and type very fast...

Wow, this is great for my self-esteem! I'm getting warm fuzzies all over the place!

So you've contributed to the junk mail I receive. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

1. My kids say I give the best Back Scratchies.

2. I make the best Christmas cookies, according to family, former co-workers (who still request plates even though I haven't worked there in 8 years), and staff members at mom and dad's offices.

3. DS's only complaint at Disney was that the food wasn't like mine.

4. The local post office thinks I'm the best at sending packages to Iraq and should teach a class.

5. I am my kids' best fan.

6. My children say I am the best mom :)

I am a really good at worrying. Now, I'm worrying because I can't think of anything else at which I truly excel!

I'm a pretty good cook meal wise... not a very good baker though. That's about it. I'm quite ordinary.

It took a second for me to figure out what I am really good at....And I finally figured it out. I am really good at figuring things out. If I have any type of problem or challenge. Just give me a second and I will try to come up with a solution, I rarely panic. My talent can range from decorating, putting furniture together, figuring out how to stop carpenter bees from eating my mom's house, making thank you cards, whatever. Just give me a second and I will try to find the solution. My current biggest failure that I haven't been able to solve is "POTTY TRAINING" :sad2:

Here's your solution: QUIT TRYING.

My second daughter changed her own pull-ups for a year and a half before giving it up. I told her (at age 3 yrs., 2 mos.) that if she was old enough to change her diaper after pottying that she was smart enough to do it on the potty.

I didn't push her. I just bought her some pretty panties, which she wore over a pull-up for most of the time...until she just decided she didn't need it anymore.

Then it took less than 2 days.

It'll happen in it's own time. Push it and watch your child rebel...give her the opportunity and watch her excel!

I am an excellent gift wrapper. Sometimes the receiver will take pictures of the gift before they open it. I have even had people suggest I open a business around the holidays. I handmake my bows too.

I am a pretty good baker too.

:wave2: Thanks for asking!
