Hi Everyone! Hope no-one minds me starting a planning journal on here so far in advance ... September .... 2014 :lmao:

EDIT: This trip might now be brought forward to 2013!!!! OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

What can I say, this girl loves to plan!!

Can't wait to share ideas with you all and follow your plans too :wizard:

Our 'Cast' is just me and the Husband  That's us in the photo over there and I'm sure you all know who the blue dude is ;)

We've been to Disney 3 times before & got married there too :cloud9:

Obviously we haven't got any plans 'set in stone' yet as its too far out to book - but I've already started my planning spreadsheets and doing research

Hopefully this will be a two week trip over the date of our 6th Wedding Anniversary. We are going to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel @ Universal for the first 4 nights and then move over to Disney Wilderness Lodge for the other 10 nights

This is assuming we can get the dates & prices we'd like and really hope for free dining too!

Some details of our previous stays:
September 2005 : Split stay between Hard Rock / Animal Kingdom lodge / Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge.
September 2008 : Hard Rock Hotel / WL villas / Boardwalk
December 2009 : Wilderness Lodge

As you can see we love the Wilderness Lodge

I've been doing some research into what places we might like to eat at, we've already got a couple of favourites which have now become a 'must do' on each trip but we also want to try a couple of new places as well - which always leads to much stressing on my behalf - there's too much yummy stuff to choose from!!!

Must admit : I LOVE FOOOOOOOOOOD :lmao: and Cocktails too :worship:

Also been stalking some of the food reports on here to try and gather ideas too :surfweb:

Some of the one's we'd like to do again are:
Breakfast : Ohana, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace
Lunch or Dinner : Rainforest Cafe & Sci-Fi Dine In

We really want to try these on this trip:
Yak & Yeti & Ohana for Dinner

So, as you can tell we've still got A LOT more food slots to fill so lots of research is needed and hopefully you guys might offer some suggestions?

I've never got around to doing trip reports for our previous stays so maybe I could merge them into this thread and then you could see what we've done before? Plus, who doesn't like drooling over disney food photos

Wow ...got to give you credit for starting your planning 2-years(+) in advance! One place I think I'd put on my list would Be Our Guest in the new Fantasyland. It should be interesting to see how your plans develop over the next 2 years. Keep Calm and Carry On.

YAAAAY my 1st reply - thank you  Nice to know I'm not talking to myself :rotfl: Yeah, 2 years is a long time out but I'm missing my disney fix so thought chatting on here might help :goodvibes

Oooo thanks for the tip!! I'm sure we'll definitely want to go to Be Our Guest, just waiting for the menus & photos - the castle and the whole area looks gorgeous doesn't it!

Have you got a trip planned at the moment?

I'm so pleased to have found this!!!!! Now I don't feel so crazy for planning our next December 2015 trip!!!!! I too have spread sheets!!!! I'm so excited

What restaurants did you go to during previous visits?

YAY!! You've made me feel better too :thumbsup2 and extra YAAAAAAY for the use of spreadsheets!! lol

December is AMAZING! Have you been before during that time of year?

You need to start a planning journal too so that we can read about your plans and thoughts too :goodvibes

We've racked up quite a few restaurants on our previous trips - I shall make a list and post it on here :surfweb: Might need to look through all our photos to try and remember them all

This is a list of some of the restaurants we've eaten at before, mainly table service one's. We've eaten lots of counter service too, but I'm not sure of the names of them as it was a case of 'need food - lets go anywhere' :lmao: and we used room service quite a bit on the first couple of trips too.

Yes, we went early December when we went last. It was AMAZING and I don't want to mess with a good thing. The weather was lovely, not too hot not too warm. There were no crowds and the line ups were very short. It was rare to wait more than 5-10 minutes for anything. Then there was the added perk of seeing all the Christmas decorations :D

As for dining, looks like you've covered a lot of places already!!! I'm jealous! Some of the ones that I went to that I highly recommend and are on my repeat list are Boma and the 50's Prime Time Diner. I start to salivate every time I think about the food at 50's mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm good!

Our last trip was in December time and it was lovely, everything was perfect & so pretty.

Yeah, when we went last time I was determined to visit some of the other resorts and eat there so we could see the xmas decorations as well :cutie: Turned out a good plan, have you visited the other resorts? Where do you normally stay?

Funny you mentioned 50's Prime Time, I keep looking at people's reports of it and thinking that we'd like the food but I get a bit worried about the cast member interaction, we're normally 'in the background' sort of people - do you think we'd still enjoy it? :confused3

Oooo you've started a journal, will pop over to it! :thumbsup2

Last time (the only time) we went we stayed at All Stars. It's a value (we're cheap!) but I was quite impressed as it certainly exceeded my expectations! We visited the Animal Kingdom Lodge when we went to Boma (I absolutely loved it there!). Next time we go I would like to explore more of the resorts. We'll be staying longer next time around so I'll have to squeek in the time!

And I definitely think you'd enjoy the 50's Diner. Has there been anyone who hasn't??? :confused3 If there was I've yet to read their reviews! The interaction really isn't all that 'intense' or at least it wasn't for us. Perhaps it's because hubby have such good manners :rotfl2: I suppose it really depends on the individual serving you, but I think for the most part they're good at reading people and knowing just how far they can go.

I saw that you went to Whispering Canyon twice? I've heard that that's quite the interactive place? We never went there though I would love to go there for breakfast next time around. The prices seem reasonable and it seems as though the kids would have a good time.

We've never been over to the All Stars resorts - but to be honest, I would like to go over and have a nosey! They look so cute, have seen people's trip reports with pictures of all the giant items etc.. Would also like to have a look around the Port Orleans resorts as well, they look very pretty! Yeah you should definitely go for a look around other resorts, we love doing it :goodvibes

I'm thinking we should add 50's prime time to the list. Like you say, we've been to WCC and survived lol Although, the first time was a bit daunting, the second time was really quiet, so it probably just depends on who your server is and how busy the place is. Maybe they act up a bit more when they've got a crowd :cool1: You should try WCC, am sure you'll like it and the food is good!

Sooooo i'm currently freakin out a bit ... ok .. ok ... ALOT!!!

Why you ask?!?

Because my husband has just suggested that we move this trip forward a year because HE can't wait!!!

My reaction?!?!

:faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

Yep, you guessed it! I'm still freaking out

We now can't make up our minds where to stay, our heart belongs to Wilderness Lodge, but I've always wanted to try the GF at least once in my lifetime even if just for a couple of days, so we are now considering even more of a split stay :confused3

And now things have got even more confusing ... but in a good way .. the UK Disney site is offering free dining for September next year!! :wizard: :wizard:

My brain is going to pop with all these decisions

Well, we've made the decision!! It's now set in stone .. September 2013 :yay: I'm sooooo excited :cheer2:

We are going to book it through the UK website and snap up the free dining offer popcorn::

Wilderness Lodge HERE WE COME!!!

:dance3::yay::cool1::woohoo::cheer2::dance3:

Hope you are all ready for what comes next .... LOTS of planning, drooling over food, shopping discussions and OMG i'm getting too excited already :lmao:
