Here's the scoop......sharing Disney with a good friend is GREAT!!! :thumbsup2 Just the 2 of us. I'm Linda & my friend is Deb. We've been friends for 20+ years! We met when our sons were in kindergarten. Now, we work together at the same doctors' office! The past couple of years, we had talked about going to Disney...nothing happened. This year, Deb suffered a heart attack. Well, that changed everything with me. That was it! I asked her if she'd like to check out the Flower & Garden Show. So.......we did!!!:woohoo:

We landed in Orlando by 9:30am & boarded ME on our way to POP! At checkin, the cast member noticed that Deb was going to celebrate her birthday & supplied the birthday button. She also gave me a "celebrating" button. Guess what......our room was ready!!! We had requested the 50's section & it was there! After dropping off some stuff, we headed off the MK.
Now you remember that Deb & I work together, another friend from the office was there too! So we met her & her friend at the ice cream parlor. Without realizing, the parade was getting ready to start. So we found a good spot & enjoyed it together.

Very cute parade! The characters came down off the floats & interacted with people.
After that, we had ADR for the Plaza. It's such a cute & overlooked restaurant.
DebLinda-021-1.jpg

Of course, we ran into this lady on our way in....
DebLinda-020-1.jpg

Deb's youngest son actually works at Disney. He works in an office that's located over Casey's Corner. So......he was able to join us for lunch. How cool is that to have your lunchbreak in MK!!! :thumbsup2
After enjoying MK for awhile, we headed over to EPCOT to catch Paul Revere & the Raiders. However, on the way over, we stopped to listen to these guys...
DebLinda-049-1.jpg
They were very good! On to see Paul Revere...
DebLinda-056-1.jpg
What a terrific show!!! Would you believe Paul is 72!?!?!?!?! He gave a great performance for anyone, not only a 72 year old guy!!!
Then it was back over to MK for awhile.
DebLinda-058-1.jpg

We needed to get some rest. We had a very early wakeup call for the next morning......

Keep 'em coming Linda!

I love The Plaza too!

I'm on board! I should really do a girlfriend trip like this! What a great idea.:) Although, my DH probably won't let me go without him!:lmao:

I never saw the British Invasion dressed up so colorful.
Usually they are in just grey suits.

What does your friends son do at WDW.
We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour, and they told us,
some people had offices up there. You could see the steps
when we were in the back leading up to the offices.

What a nice report! How nice you did this for your friend.:grouphug:
We took my sister back in 2000 when the doctor told her that if she did not stop she would have a heart attack so we took her to Disney and since then she is taking life a little bit easier.

The pictures look great! please keep updating us! :surfweb:

Thanks for joining in. I must clarify though.....I did not do this "for" my friend, I did it "with" my friend. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. This was a trip with 2 friends enjoying Disney & each other. And we did! :goodvibes

He helps to schedule the characters in the parks. He started out working monorail and then did entertainment (characters). Once and awhile he still gets over to work on Fantasmic, but it has been awhile. He loves working for Disney. As Linda and I said, it was a fantastic trip for friends. No set schedules, both willing to try and do new things. What a great break from the daily routine.

Day 2

So why did we have an "early" wakeup call?:confused3 This is why...
DebLinda-059-1.jpg

We went on the Segway Tour!!! :yay: That's myself, Deb, her son & his friend It was great!!! The only bad thing about it was that we would've loved to stay on them longer! It was a 2 hour tour, but it seemed to go by sooooooo quickly. Deb & I were a little hesitant as we were "in training". However, once we got the hang of it.......look out! :rotfl2:
After the tour, we had to come back down from our high, we went directly to Soarin' for a Fastpass. Then we headed to Test Track & rode in the single-rider line. It was only about a 15 minute wait.
Off to my biggest accomplishment......I rode Mission Space!!!:woohoo:Oh yes I did!!::yes:: See......
DebLinda-061-2.jpg
Is that funny or what!!! :lmao: Funniest thing about our experience is that I was the "navigator". Now people who know me will tell you the truth......I can't find my way out of a paper bag!!:rotfl: While still laughing at my navigational skills, we made our way over to
DebLinda-062.jpg
Don't you just love these?

We had lunch at Chefs de France. It was wonderful. Deb was so surprised when the waiters brought out her dessert. They sang Happy Birthday in French to her. She was delighted! :goodvibes We continued walking around the showcase enjoying all the beauty around us.

Day 2 continued....
More pics of the beauty in the showcase.

On to Day 3....

Breakfast at Kona Cafe. You know it......Tonga Toast!!!!:woohoo:That is just soooooooo good! Then look what Deb received.
DebLinda-086.jpg
She also heard the entire restaurant sing Happy Birthday! Does she look a little happy???
DebLinda-085.jpg
It was great.
On to MK for the day! Before we could get the day started, I had to say hello to Goofy!
DebLinda-087-1.jpg
Yes, I know. Look at that big mouth!!! What can I say? I was in Disney World! I was acting "goofy"!!:rotfl: Now if you remember, I told you that another person from our office was there too. Well, we met up with them again today. Here they are....
DebLinda-091-1.jpg
That's M, G's friend, G,she's our office administrator, J, that's Deb's son, Deb & myself. What a group we were! We made our way (through the shops) to the Riverboat. In past trips, I had never taken that boat ride. It was very relaxing. Here are some pics from the boat.
DebLinda-094.jpg
DebLinda-096.jpg
After our boat docked, we headed for Tom Sawyer's Island.
DebLinda-097.jpg
Something else I had never done. It was ok. Not something I would do again. Here we are, protecting the fort!
DebLinda-098.jpg

By this time, we needed a Dole Whip Float! So, that's what we did. Sitting in the shade, relaxing, talking, enjoying our floats!!!!:woohoo:
More to come.....

I've NEVER had the Tonga Toast! Hopefully this year I'll get over there early enough to try it!

Linda, I love the Riverboat ride too - and I just did it for the 1st time last May. Very realxing & it's nice to see MK from another viewpoint.

Oh Glenda, you would love it! :goodvibes The only bad thing is that there's just so much, you'll have difficulty eating it all!:rotfl: Here's the description...

Tonga Toast - banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage
