A gal on a local CO board let us know she was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent a masectomy and due to her age (she is in her late 30s), they will be treating it very aggressively. They were slated to go to WDW in end of September and had already told their 6 yr old daughter and 3 year old son that they were going. Of all things right now, the sweetheart's worried how her kids will take the WDW trip cancellation. They have tenatively rebooked the trip for May pending the outcome of the chemo and her health.
We on this local board are pitching together to try and let the kids down a little easy and making a little basket with some Disney things like travel book, a doll, plush stuffed animals, coloring books, etc. and would love to have one or two letters to the kids from certain Disney characters to help them feel a bit better about the trip cancellation. We're looking for a letter (or two -- could be one to Ivy and one to Calder or one from each of their favs addressed to both or just one big letter) to basically say something like everyone gets sick some time and we are so glad you are giving your mom time to feel better so you can all enjoy WDW together, can't wait to see you in May, WDW is so great in all seasons that you will love seeing all the fun things we have to offer in spring, etc.
The two kids are Ivy (6) and Calder (3). Ivy loves princesses, particularly Snow White and Rapunzel. Calder LOVES Mickey Mouse and also Woody, Buzz and Mater.
If any of you could help us, that would be fantastic. Many thanks in advance!
