Lesson learned. Need more days in Disney!!! Aug 2010 (NEW 1/20-COMPLETE)

Wow Yuki! That is really cute! I love it! I think those kinds of bags can still be fashionable but I fear I'd only use it at Disney. But I love it!

We anime geeks have to stick together. Haha! :) Are you going to a Con any time soon? I just got back from one in Jan and I'm working at one in March. My first two cons in like 6 years! Eeee :happytv:

Oooh, did you end up dressing up for it??? How was it for you?

I'll be going to one in May. It's the largest anime con in Canada! 5th largest in North America. I always volunteer as a panelist.

I love my new wristlet! I'm already out and using it. I feel like showing it off to everyone.

I am looking for the perfect Jewel thief bashing bag like that Granny in England do you guys have any pix of suitable "Bashing " bags:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Very cute! I love my Dooney bags, hopefully I will add a Disney Dooney to my collection this summer!

Oh that would be great! I'm drooling at the anniversary and balloon bags. I can't wait to get myself a larger Dooney bag!

Have you seen their Harveys bags from Disney Couture? Absolutely gorgeous!

Just looked it up. Cute but not my style.

I'm glad you liked it! I am also glad you got the black - I carried my white one around in a black bag for a while, and the trim got a little blackened, but hey... it happens.

My mom got the Harvey bag when she came down - the Mickey comic one, not the Minnie one. I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me. I hear they're releasing new styles soon, so I might get one. I love how sturdy (and environmentally friendly!) the seatbelt is.

ETA: Also, if they come out with a 40th anniversary Dooney for WDW, I am all over that! The Disneyland one is cute, but I haven't been forever, so it's not relevant to me.

Yeaaah, I really love the Mickey comic strip one. I think it's wonderful that they're made of seatbelts. The inside of the bag is so nice too!!

Omg, I'm sure they'll come out with 40th anniversary, they have to! I'd be all over that. I really like their anniversary designs.

Chapter 17. Day 4 pt.2- Yes, I want the beard! OR Hey, I’m manlier than you!

Cause that’s exactly what every boyfriend wants their girlfriends to say, right?

My initial plan after HM was to grab an FP for Splash or Thunder, ride the one I didn’t get an FP for, then ride the other one. BUT, my timing was a little bit off and it was already time to check in for my Pirate’s League appointment! I had hoped to go at least after going on Splash, but I ended up going on with all my make-up...Which is more an adventure in itself, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

So, I checked in at 9:50am (only 50 minutes after park opening and I had gotten so much done!) for my 10:10am appointment. Before my trip, it took me a while to choose which of the faces I wanted. This is what I had to choose from.
Pirates%20League%2003.jpg

I mean, a bunch of them were really good! I was very tempted by the cursed pirate and multi-eyed Jack, but thought that my parents probably wouldn’t want to see pictures of me like that, so I was considering the Captain Hook or black-eyed Jack. I knew FOR SURE, I didn’t want to do the Empress look. If I wanted some glitter on my face and lip gloss with painted nails, I could do that myself. I talked about this on my PTR, and everyone convinced me that this was MY day and I should get whatever face I wanted, whether or not my parents would like it!

Soooo, I ended up choosing the Multi-eyed Jack! Can you believe that that one hardly gets picked? I have no idea WHY. It’s so freakin’ cool. While I waited for my appt, Andrew went to get an FP for Splash. Andrew hadn’t gotten back until after I got my pirate name, so there are no pictures from then. I wanted a boy name, but they said they weren’t allowed. Sooo, after some really cool stuff like rolling the bingo drum, my pirate name turned out to be....Eliza Darkgrin! I got a scroll for it and everything. Forgot to take a picture of that.

So after I got seated inside the room where all the make-up is put on, Andrew showed up and took some pictures of the room.
DSC00429.jpg

It was very cool and very well themed. I loved just looking around at it.
DSC00430.jpg

It was also pretty dark in there, so the pictures aren’t the best.
DSC00433.jpg

I want this flag for my room.
DSC00436.jpg

Andrew took a photo of me while I was waiting.
DSC00437.jpg

I’m a lot more excited than I look, I swear!

While I was waiting, I saw a lot of little boys around. Most of them seemed under 10 yrs. About 2/3 were dressed up in the Disney pirate clothes. I only saw a few girls in there, but I LOVE the girl pirate costumes. They’re so cute!

This is me, doing my best pirate “Aaaaarrrr!” in my make-up chair.
DSC00441.jpg

I’m sad I didn’t get the name of the pirate CM that did my make-up. She was AWESOME! So much fun to interact with! I’ve heard that the CMs there are very in-character, and I felt it was just enough for it to be fun. She was very cool. We kept chatting as she did my make-up. Andrew would say something funny which would make me laugh, but she would say, “Stop making her laugh! I can’t do this right if you’re so funny!”

Andrew took a pic of this cute group of pirates.
DSC00442.jpg

I love that they were posing and everything.

So here I am, getting ready for my transformation! With a neck thingy to keep make-up from getting there?
DSC00444.jpg

I expected all those eyes to be painted on, but they’re actually temporary tattoos! She laid those on my face first, and then started working on the large eye on my eyelids that is supposed to “appear” when I have my eyes closed. Well...turns out...I guess you’ll have to see in a sec.

DSC00446.jpg

Here’s a better pic of the temp tattoo on my cheeks.
DSC00447.jpg

The rest of the make-up is painted on. She told me to just sleep and relax while she worked on me, but it didn’t take long at all. The bug she drew on my nose is to “hold up all my extra eyes”. I think she named is Gerald or something. I should’ve written that down, but I guess I was a little bit busy. Busy having too much fun!

While she was painting on my face, she asked us what we were planning to do after this. We said, “Splash Mountain!” And she was like, “Spla-splash mountain???? Good luck with that!” She was seriously very awesome. I just loved her.

So...ta dah, this is me after all my make-up!
DSC00450.jpg

After she was done with painting the eyes and the bugs, she asked me if I wanted the beard too, to which I replied, “Of course!!!” And she said, “Well of course you would!! It’s not every day you get to have a beard!” Then I said, “Yay, I’ll be manlier than him (Andrew)!”

Here are more pictures of my pirate glory. Me fixing my Minnie ears back on after I took it off.

Me trying to look like a tough pirate. Did it work?
DSC00453.jpg

Our awesome CM tying the bandana around my ears. She was very good with this. At first, girls are only allowed the pink bandana, but I REALLY wanted the black and red one, so she snuck one out for me. Then she tied the bandana differently for me because I wanted my Minnie ears on too. It’s usually supposed to cover your head. I think it looked really good with the Minnie ears!

After becoming a pirate, I had to take a pirate oath. So I repeated everything she said, even the “Ok, let’s get started” cause I’m lame like that. Then she got to a part where I’m pretty sure they improvise while they talk VERY FAST. All I got was “parley”, so I just said that. She said since she liked me so much, she would pass me. Then I was taught a pirate salute and voila, part of the Pirate’s League! Afterwards, I had to sign some papers I think and Andrew said, “Paperwork for pirates?” And the CM replied, “Well, when you’re becoming a part of the crew, you’ve got to have the proper paperwork!” She was hilarious.

Me doing the Asian “V”’s. As if I didn’t look odd enough.
DSC00455.jpg

Andrew took a bunch of photos while we were waiting to be escorted into the secret pirate room, but they all turned out really dark. Just for comparison with a picture I’ll be showing later, here’s me with my eyes closed, again trying to look tough.
DSC00461.jpg

I would love to tell y’all about what went on in the room, but I took an oath NOT TO. Sooo, you’ll just have to keep guessing! I DID get a very cool medallion in the room that resembled the one from the first POTC movie. It was very shiny and very pretty. As part of the pirate package, I also got a little pink pouch about the size of my hand to keep my pirates stuff in. Such as the AWESOME clip-on earring (I was very excited about this one because my earhole has been closed for years and I haven’t worn an earring since I was 15, so that was exciting), fake teeth, eye-patch, medallion and bandana. You also get to wear a sash just like the princess ones except it’s for pirates, and it has a little loop that holds a plastic sword.

After we left the room, I paid and they asked me if I wanted to go on stage with Captain Jack and I said, “Heck yeah!” So I signed myself up for 2:15pm show. We just had to be around the stage area where he appears around that time.

I obviously didn’t want to wear the eye patch and the fake teeth, so Andrew did, and we looked like pirates together! He had to take the eye patch off because it obviously messed with his depth perception.

Later on in our day, I’ll tell you what I learned from all this...If you guys have any questions at all about the experience, please just ask!

Up next: Being a pirate in MK, and a skipper that is totally lacking

That is some seriously cool makeup! That pirates league experience sounds like a lot of fun! Were there are a lot of adults there or was it mostly kids. Kudos to you for trying it though! It sounds like you had a fantastic experience.

Wow what a great experience! Those eyes are so freaky. I wish I could get my daughter to do this. She's did the BBB but not is too old for it now. Being a pirate sounds so much more mature and cool.

Oh my gosh you look AWESOME!!!!! Your CM really did do a great job and you look like you had a blast!

But why do they only give the girls pink bandanas? What is the point of such a silly rule? Good for your CM for getting you what you want!

I had a busy week and not much time for reading, but I am all caught up right now!

All I can say is ...........

YOU are an AWESOME pirate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for letting us all tag along during your "transformation"! What fun, can't wait to read more!

Good job on requesting what you wanted (black and red bandana, etc.) I mean you're paying for it, I'm don't understand what the deal is with names/colors. Discrimination I tell ya! :lmao:

You look great! Your CM did a superb job; even better that you had so much fun with her. As always, enjoying your posts and looking forward to reading more. :surfweb:

pssst...don't forget to drop in on my TR.

I'm thinking the multi-eye is the way to go.

Yesssss!!!

Very cool...I've never seen this.

So...ta dah, this is me after all my make-up!

Awesome! I'm surprised you went with the whole beard and everything. You must have gotten a few looks throughout the day.

After becoming a pirate, I had to take a pirate oath. So I repeated everything she said, even the “Ok, let’s get started” cause I’m lame like that.

Exactly what I would've done.

Then she got to a part where I’m pretty sure they improvise while they talk VERY FAST. All I got was “parley”, so I just said that.

That sounds like a riot!

I love the look on the lady behind you in this picture! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

You have more balls than I ever would have! You look amazing, how fun!! I love the pic of both of you in the pirate garb, too funny!

That is some seriously cool makeup! That pirates league experience sounds like a lot of fun! Were there are a lot of adults there or was it mostly kids. Kudos to you for trying it though! It sounds like you had a fantastic experience.

Yeah, it was a great experience!!! I was the oldest person becoming a pirate. No other adults....And most of the children were 10 or younger.

I'm all for trying stuff like this out. I've always been a fan of pirates too. I was already a ninja, so that day I became a ninja pirate!

 Love it! I would never have the guts to do it but I admire those who do. :thumbsup2

Hahaha, oh, I have a LOT of guts.

Wow what a great experience! Those eyes are so freaky. I wish I could get my daughter to do this. She's did the BBB but not is too old for it now. Being a pirate sounds so much more mature and cool.

Yeah, those eyes look pretty weird in pictures. Especially since the "eyes" on my eyelids are supposed to be hidden. If you don't pay attention to my eyes, my expression just looks REALLY happy all the time, and that I'm looking straight ahead.

Haha, maybe she WILL do it! I would try to score a deal cause if she's only interested in the Empress package it's NOT WORTH IT. Just the experience of the CMs, they were fun, but the Empress package doesn't come with as much stuff and you would HAVE to get her a costume because you can't really tell with her make-up that she's a pirate.

Oh my gosh you look AWESOME!!!!! Your CM really did do a great job and you look like you had a blast!

But why do they only give the girls pink bandanas? What is the point of such a silly rule? Good for your CM for getting you what you want!

Yeah, my CM was such a great person. We had such a good time with her!

Well, with the bandana situation, they only hold onto a limited number of "boy" and "girl" bandanas. So if they give away too many "boy" bandanas to girls, they may not have enough of them left for boys. Most girls are ok with getting a black and red one, but I don't think any of the boys would be ok with a pink one.

But I REALLY wanted the "boy" one

I had a busy week and not much time for reading, but I am all caught up right now!

Hey Karin!!!!! It's too bad you didn't get to see me like that. My next update will tell you why..but you're leaving so soon!!! Good luck with last minute arrangements!

Good job on requesting what you wanted (black and red bandana, etc.) I mean you're paying for it, I'm don't understand what the deal is with names/colors. Discrimination I tell ya! :lmao:

Hey Lisa, thanks for the compliments! Not only was the make-up good, she just had a very playful personality. If you scroll up a bit, you can read why I think they discriminate between the colours.

I would've liked a boy name though!
