I recently rented with Hertz in OK and returned the car at 6 pm. There was a sign to leave the keys and take the shuttle to the terminal and the receipt would be emailed to you. I should have gone with my gut that this didn't feel right but at that moment when you have a flight to catch??
Needless to say, I received an email saying my car was returned on the 28th of May, 5 days later than when we actually turned it in, making my original rental price of $135.89 jump to $470. I was furious! They said that another rental of the vehicle we had been using overlapped my rental. They are trying to fix it but I have been on hold for 30+ min so far.
I at least have my airline tickets that were stamped at security showing the proof we did fly on the 23rd and the agent isn't really questioning whether or not we turned it in or not, she just cannot seem to get it adjusted back to my rate.
