I'm planning my 8 yr old's first trip to Disney. We are thinking Thanksgiving week or the week before Easter so she doesn't miss an entire week of school. Any BTDT experience with these weeks and what I can expect?

Thank you

Thanksgiving. Much cooler and the Christmas decorations are beautiful. The crowds seem less, too.

I agree. Thanksgiving. We took my dd there for the week of thanksgiving, leaving the sat. after, and we are on our 3rd yr! Up til' Thanksgiving Day it is not crowded at all.. so, just plan on doing your parks and "must see's" before then, then after TG day, you can go hit any things you want to do again, or spend time at the resort, or at DD or the boardwalk. Weather was about 70-80 during day (swimming weather!) and then cooled down to the 50-60 range at night.. perfect!

Definatley Thanksgiving. As above poster stated, it's beautifully decorated for the holidays, cool weather and much CHEAPER! I think end of November is value season while end of March is peak season so you're talking a pretty big difference in price. Plus at the end of the year you can go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candelight Processional (if it's on that early).

We are going for Thanksgiving this year. The kids will miss 2 days of school.

My sister went last year for Easter...she said it was PACKED and she would never go again during that time.

Oh good point!! I forgot about the decorations!!! That is a BONUS! Also, to see the osborn lights!

We had a Thanksgiving celebration in 2004 which included:

Me 23 (and a Disney CP Cast Member at the time and the reason for the trip! I would be in FL for the holidays so down they all came!)
Mom, Dad, Sister, Neice 2yrs, Brother, Nephew 7yrs, BestFriend, Fiance
(it was my parents and neice and nephew's first trip)

We had a blast and NEVER had long waits! They were there for a week (Monday - Sunday - over Thanksgiving).

Thanksgiving we ate at Kona and it was SO YUMMY!!!

Another vote for Thanksgiving!

We go nearly very November. Went one year at Easter for a band trip and won't do it again. :crowded: Also agree with the other posters on crowds, cost, and decorations. (Although it was downright chilly the year we went in April for Easter.)

I'll join everyone else in recommending Thanksgiving. We went in 2005. I agree on the weather-it was great! And the crowds weren't too bad.

We went the week after Thanksgiving, but the people who were there before us said the crowds were not bad. The weather is usually beautiful and the Christmas decorations are not to be missed!

Have been both times at Thanksgiving the decorations are up in the parks etc and we got there the fri. before turkey day and that weekend till thanksgiving was crowded.Spent thanksgiving day at Sea World and there was hardly anybody there. Have been the week before and after Easter and find the crowds like it was summer time. But if u are not used to the crowds during the busy times then u will be surprised. Found both times like the summer months.

Thanksgiving..Easter is a nightmare.....

Don't shy away from Easter...yes it is busy, but if you follow Tour Guide Mike's Advice......you can beat the crowds! W brought our 10 year old daughter for her first trip last Easter and everything worked out great. Parks in the morning...pool in the afternoon. Make dinner reservations early!

We are trying Easter 2007.
Lots of people - not a problem. We wer just at WDW the last week of June 2006 - WDW was packed.
We do early morning and always have an ADR for a late breakfast or early lunch. Yes in the afternoon - pool. mini-golf, DTD, ir EPCOT (good for crowds).
Busy or not - The Pooh Crew will be at WDW Easter 2007 :goodvibes
