Less than 10 days to go, any advice for us?

I everyone! I have been lurking for about 4-5 months now and am finally introducing myself! I am a 26 year old married mom to two children. I mostly stay at home, but work one night a week just to get out of the house.

Well, we are leaving for Disney World in 9 days. We are flying (2.5 hours, hope I don't have a panic attack, I have control problems) from Indiana, to Florida with our children. My oldest is a girl, she is gonna turn 8 while there (she is STOKED!!!), and my youngest is a boy, who is 20 months. My husband will turn 30 later this year.

We are staying off site, at the Ramada there on the main hwy. We'll be in Disney for 3 days and I would like to be able to go to all of the parks, minus the water parks. We have parkhopper tickets. Would it be too much to try to do two parks in one day? Probably, huh? lol

It's been 12 years since I was last there, and this will be my husband's, daughter's, and son's first time to Disney.

I have everything pretty much ready to start packing. I went through the 36 page organization thread, and got some of the things that were mentioned there. I also went through the print off activities for the kids. So I feel like I have my ducks in row. Is there anything else I should know? Oh! Are we allowed to bring snacks and drinks with us in our bags in the parks? I heard they check through bags at the gate....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I hope you guys are having a fabulous day, as it is overcast and raining here.

I hope you guys have a great time. The weather is HOT and the afternoon storms are starting now so be prepared and stay hydrated. I think 2 parks in one day is doable. As long as you get an early start in one, go back get a nap and maybe a swim and then head to another park. We have done 3 in one day but that was really pushing it.

As far as snacks, we always bring them in for the kids. They do check the bags but no one has ever said anything about them.

Just make sure you drink lots of water.

The park hoppers are very nice and will be helpful in trying to get to all the parks. Keep in mind too that AK usually closes around 5pm (I think?). So after you leave there, you can head to another park for the rest of the evening. You won't be able to get everything done, so make sure you take a look at the park maps and do the things that are very important first. Then if there's still time, you can fill it in with other less-important things.

Stop at guest services in MK and get your dd a birthday button. She can wear it and will get "Happy Birthday" greetings from many CM's throughout the day. She'll probably be thrilled about that! I think it's at guest services. If that's not it, they'll probably be able to tell you where the correct location is (or someone else here on the board will know).

Have fun!

We did AK and Disney Studios the same day a couple years ago -- we had breakfast, did the safari and saw Lion King at AK (skipped everything else) and then saw two shows at Studios, ate and wandered around.

You *can* do two. But you can really only "see" the parks, not really explore them. It is a great way to get a taste of what's offered.

Good luck with your decision.
