Lesli's Live Long and Strong WISH Journal

Your trip (and the report) were AWESOME!!

Such a neat experience for you and DD!

Glad you're back and on the way again from all your trips.

Have a great rest of the week!

I'm back from the College Preview (orientation, what have you).

Pearlieq - I am so glad that someone else finds the fruit & walnut salads kind of ridiculus.

Christin - I think you are right on being one of the few to see Pericles. DH didn't know the story (and he's read quite a bit) and DD17 (who knows alot of Shakespeare) hadn't heard of the play before going to London.

Julie - This leaving, being home for a few days, and leaving is starting to wear thin.

Anyway, I am back and now I will do all my updates.

Going back to 6/20 for a brief moment. I managed to stick with my plan fairly well in terms of food. Well, I did have double the amount of tuna on my wrap for lunch because I was starving, but it didn't make a big difference in calories and really increased my protein. I did eat about 8 chips, then put them away quickly. I skipped the pm snack, since I was really drinking alot of water about that time and I just couldn't have eaten if I tried. For supper, DH actually wanted a salad, but nothing heavy like taco, so we made a type of chef salad w/ ham and some shredded cheese. I ate alot of it. For some reason, I was really hungry. At least it was salad. Then I ate 4 chips when the younger kids were eating them. Had 2 nilla wafers and a sm finger swipe of Cool Whip Lite as DD15 put some on strawberries. :rolleyes1

It was definitely a busy day with trying to catch up my work and get ready for the college thing. I did make a point out of getting up and moving though and felt really good all day and had TONS of energy. Water was at least 120 oz. The family had popcorn late and I wasn't even tempted.

Moving on to 6/21 -
The day was off to an early start at 5am. I wanted to leave around 6:30, since there was some road construction closer to the college. Breakfast was 1 egg omlet w/ cheese (I was in such a hurry, that I forgot to season it and it was very, very bland), 2 slices of ham, and 1 slice 7 grain toast w/ jelly. I drank 12 oz of water and filled my mug which holds about 24 oz plus ice. There was nothing that was going to derail my need to keep with the plan.

I did have a problem getting DD17 out of bed. :sad2: I told her that if we missed it, I was not going to reschedule (it's required) and she would have to figure out how to pay for college without help. That pretty much got her out of bed.

We left about 15 mins late, but arrived in plenty of time. No construction going on, just the cones out (IL is so good for that). Of course, we had no idea where the parking lot was or where to check-in since that was not mentioned in all the info. Finally figured it out and checked in. The first thing they did after the students got settled in the room they were spending the night in was to seperate the parents and students. No surprise to me, but a shock to some. Parents started out in an area where they served donuts to us. I wasn't going to, but I did. I had 1 long john. The only thing I can think of why I did it was the fact that you didn't know anyone and eating at least killed a little time until we were told what to do. It pretty much seemed that this was the case with most of the parents.

Off to seminars. Boy these were fun. The most fun I had that morning was when the parents stood up to do a cheer for the students and we sang "Hit the road Jack and don't ya come back no more, no more, no more, no more". Don't get me wrong, I love my DD17, but letting her figure out life (and relieving the I know everything syndrom around here) is not a bad thing. Lunch was at a deli on campus (students got box lunches :rotfl2: ). I ate a Tuna Salad "salad". It was tuna salad (not bad, not great, edible) on a large bed of mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber & croutons. It really was more than I could eat, but I ate as much as could without going overboard. I really hated not being able to take the leftovers home. It also came with crackers and I did take those home.

Later we met up with the students to go to Academic Advising. Then on to meet the department advisors. We were the only ones in the Anthropology Dept. It's a small department, but maybe also one of the reasons why many of the students have some great careers later, because you get more one on one attention allowing for more questions and learning. Then DD17 and I went to check out one of the stores on campus. After that it was dinner. I had to pay to eat the lousy cafeteria food. There wasn't a large selection. Alot of fried food and I couldn't find the salad bar (which I found later was around the corner where you eat, not where you get most of the food :confused3 ), so I thought there wasn't one. I had a piece of fried chicken (thought I could eat it skinless, but I caved), a sm baked potato w/ sour cream, sprinkle cheese, sprinkle bacon bits (at first I thought it was the only thing I would eat since the good choices were few, although it wasn't the best choice), and greenbeans and carrots. For a treat, I ate a mini 100 Grand bar that I won during a seminar.

Then seperated again and off to more seminars. BTW, I was refilling my mug of water constantly. :flower: When it was over, the parents could meet back up with the students, go to the parent lounge area, or leave. I went to the parent lounge to listen to the book store rep. They had refreshments there. I ate 2 baby carrots, 5 celery sticks, and a can of Sprite. DD17 was having fun making friends so I left and went to a hotel. There was no way that I was staying in a dorm on a twin bed and sharing a bathroom. Not when I could have peace, relaxation, and a king bed (same price as the 2 queens). That was it. A few slips. Alot of walking between buildings and a long day. Water was 108 oz. I am counting 45 mins of walking as exercise, when DD17 and I were out and about.

Now for 6/22 -
I was up again early this morning. As I was getting ready, I called DD17 at 6:40am to see if she wanted to meet for breakfast. I had breakfast included w/ my room and didn't really want the cafeteria breakfast, but would have met her if she wanted. Thankfully she said no, which was fine 'cause she had breakfast with some new found friends. I packed up and went down to eat. Not alot to choose from. Lots of breads and some fruit. I had 2 mini blueberry muffins (better than a bagel), 1 banana, and about 8 oz OJ.

Back on campus, we had to split up again. I had my mug, but didn't have as many opportunities to refill today. Today was a real bore. Long seminars telling us how we can let go of our students and how to cope. Puleeeeeaz! There comes a time when kids must go learn on their own. If they fail, they will pick themselves up and try again. Besides I have three more at home to irritate. ;) During this time, the students registered for class, got their University ID's, etc. Some parents were having major cows because they couldn't register their kids. At dinner last night, some were dictating to their kids what they would be taking. Let them do it on their own, they will have to later and how many kids will drop the class that their parents made them take?

Then we met back up and DD17 and I went to the EXPO to get the last tidbit stuff. Oh yeah, she signed up for Military Science (ROTC) for the leadership learning and advantages. It doesn't commit her to the Army (thank God), but will go along way on applications, being a project manager later, and she can possibly be granted a tuition waiver. Sounds good. Also, she is planning on taking a higher Spanish class next semester, where if she does well (she's had 4 yrs in HS), she can get credit for that class PLUS the 2 classes below that. That will put her at Sophmore status before the semester is over (so to speak). Plus she can do a dig in Ireland during the summer. Oh yeah, she is going to have fun. :cool1:

For lunch we went to the deli. I had a french dip (it had cheddar on it, next time, I will hold that), small bowl of fruit, pickle spear, and ice tea. I could have chosen a little better, but it was fresh and I really was craving it, since I don't come by them often. Most people had left by then, but we decided to check out some more stores to see what was where, buy some software (at the student price) that DH needs to set up for her, open bank accounts, reserve books, look at ideas for making more space in the rooms, etc. Basically, we got done as much as possible so that when everyone is panicking just after move in to get this done, she will be able to relax.

The drive home was long. I ate 1 Reese's PB cup and 1 mini Mr. Goodbar. Don't know why.

DH had supper ready. He attempted fried chicken. Thankfully most of the skin was fried off. I had about 1/3 of a chicken breast, gr beans, sm salad, a crescent roll. It was okay, but he is much better at short order. The rest of the night was spent discussing college and me unwinding. About 48 oz. water. Walking with DD17 today (we covered some territory), I am counting 1.5 hours as exercise. But I have to admit that it felt good to walk across that campus and not be winded (last fall, I thought I wouldn't make it).

I am so worn out and way past bedtime. So now it is time to go. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Glad to hear you and DD had fun at school. You've got a great attitude about it all and I think DD will really benefit from that. Sounds like she's well on her way to being independent, even if there are a few life lessons in store for her over the next couple of years. I remember that phase well. It seemed my mom got a whole lot smarter between when I was 17 and when I was 23 or so. Somewhere in there she must have learned all of the secrets of the universe, because she sure started making a lot more sense! :teeth:

Hope you have a great day today! I hear it's supposed to be pretty darn nice out!

WOW! What an awesome experience you are giving your daughter. I hope I have your courage a year from now when I have to do that.

It sounds like you made wonderful choices in the sometimes-difficult, unfamiliar circumstances you faced over those few days. Isn't it great to be home again, though, where you have more control? It was sweet of your DH to cook dinner, even if it isn't what you would have chosen. :)

Have a great day!

Ok, I am finally ready to sit down and begin recording today. Let's just start by saying that I have been up for hours and waking around in a daze trying to really phathom what has happened.

I got up this morning and went down to weigh myself. I weigh 203! :cool1: :confused3 Still feeling a bit bewildered.

It's 203 at home, so 202 at the Dr.'s. I am happy, but I am at a place that I haven't been in so long that I just can't believe it is real. So far I have lost a total of 27 lbs. That's almost 30. It feels so surreal that I just can't explain it. I guess that part of me had given up the thought that I would ever be so close to the 100's again. I guess part of me had given up the thought that I would never look great in clothes again and yet it is happening. I guess part of me never really expected that I could lose more than 20 lbs. I guess part of me still had a small doubt that WISH could make all the difference in the world in helping me reach my goals, but it has (thanks guys!). When I step on the scale, I see flickers of numbers in the 190's as it begins to adjust itself. That just doesn't seem real.

You will have to forgive me, I am still amazed. Don't get me wrong, I feel great and I am really happy and I never expected to feel such shock, but I guess when you have carried so much weight around for so long, it is hard to believe that it will ever go away and when it does.........well....it's just hard to phathom.

Now for party time!

I am 203! That is only 3.5 lbs from ONEDERLAND! I managed to snag my new clippie today! I feel great! I look great!

BTW, for the first Summer Challenge, I reached 23/30 lbs. lost. I consider that a great success since I was off traveling for a good part of that.

I can feel those size 16's are within reach now. Just a little bit more. I will look so much better at my class reunion in 3 weeks than I did 5 years ago. I can't wait!

Time to move on.
Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/cheese, 2 slices ham, 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/ jelly, 1 c. green tea w/jasmine
AM snack: pineapple & cottage cheese
Lunch: Tuna wrap (on one of those kicks lately)
PM snack: banana smoothie
Supper: ?????? I just don't know. I'll have to think about it

Goals for day:
1. Exercise. Get up and move
2. Bookwork
3. Finish cleaning my office
4. Get the house back in shape (it's amazing what going away and coming back will do to your house)

Well, I better get going. I plan to start the WDW trip reports tonight and then work on my 3 month progress report (before I have to do the 4th month ;) ).

Everyone, have a great and wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

:Pinkbounc :cool1: CONGRATULATIONS, Lesli!!!! How AWESOME! :cheer2:

You are seeing a totally reachable goal and you must be so excited :cloud9: to realize that by the time you go to your reunion those additional 3.5 pounds may be gone! Someone on the weight watchers boards years ago had a tag line that said something like this: "time is passing anyway. I might as well lose weight along the way." :hourglass It sounds like you are making great use of the time leading up to your reunion -- I hope you have found something totally fabulous to wear to show off the new and improved you!

Keep up the great work. Celebrate the accomplishments and keep moving onward and downward!!!! :cheer2:

way to go on your loss! I cant wait until I can start seeing a difference!!! a very big congrats out to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I am ready to begin the WDW trip reports and to get caught up on recording my progress w/ food and exercise while gone.

Just to recap a bit. On June 3, I was out running all the last minute errands, had to meet DSis and BIL to take care of business, shopping for clothing, etc. The clothes shopping was great (go back in my journal to read). Oh yes, I had to find shoes for me and DD7, because I had been unable to find anything. I know, don't buy shoes right before a trip, but finding some really good comfortable walking sandals that have a little style is hard. Anyways we did manage to find some. I think mine are EasySpirits and fit very comfortably with plenty of cushion in the soles. For lunch (a little late), DD7 and I went to Arby's and I had the Martha's Vineyard salad. It is so good. I counted 2 hours as exercise since we were in high gear mode.

Back home, the kids cleaned out the Sequoia, ran errands, and helped pack. Unfortunately, I still had a lot of bookwork to get finished up for the store before I could leave and I was wore out. (The problem with two trips back to back :confused3 ). Supper was 3 sm slices of pepperoni pizza and 10 oz of pepsi. Not great, but I didn't want leftovers. Water for the day was 72 oz. Back to the very last minute packing and packing up the vehicle. I get that job since I do it best. pirate: DD7 and DS didn't sleep very well at all, they kept getting up every 10 minutes and probably didn't get any sleep until well after midnight. I finally finished up my bookwork, bills, etc. But I never really slept that night, I just rested for about 1/2 hour. It is not unusual for me to be up and not sleep before a trip, always been that way. Oh yes, did I mention that TOM showed up. Early. I hate starting a vacation that way. No wonder I didn't have another couple of lbs. off before the trip.

Oh, it's leaving day! 6/4

I got up from my rest at 3:00am and then went to wake up DH. We got ready, got everyone else up, packed them in, packed in a few other things. We realized that we didn't push in the back slide out on our Outback travel trailer (kids sleep there during summer sometimes) and thought we better do that before we left. Didn't want anything to happen while we were gone. Unfortunately, somehow it fell off track so we gave up and left it. (After returning home, DH did get this fixed). So back to the trip and we were off at about 4:30am. Tired, but excited and the :sunny: was already getting up so daylight came quickly. I ate 1/2 of a strawberry nutrigrain bar. I had my water and was ready to go. Our vehicle seats 8 very comfortably, but with all the extra stuff and DD17 bringing a friend, it was a bit crowded. Good thing I told everyone to take only 4 days worth of clothing and we would just wash every few days.

After awhile on the road and listening to DS cry and whine because he was so overtired. We ran through McD's for breakfast and I ate a sausage biscuit. Back to driving. I drove for awhile and while I was driving, DH lost a contact. Now I wanted to stop and help him find it, but he said that we would loose too much time so for hours he looked for this contact, moving things (that didn't make sense to move), flipping around in his seat, etc. No luck. He thought his vacation was going to be ruined (no glasses), since going around WDW with one eye wasn't going to be any fun. :sad2: Finally, we pulled off for gas and I just couldn't drive anymore since I needed sleep. IL is so long to drive through (N to S). I tried to help him find the contact, but had no luck. He started the gas pump and started looking on the driver side for the contact (this didn't make sense to me since I was driving). No luck. When he was about to get back in the vehicle, he spotted the contact on the running board on the driver's side (must have fallen from his clothing). How lucky is that? Now not to be mean, but I think I could have found it faster if he had let me pull over when he lost it. :rolleyes1

We always pack a cooler and snacks when we travel, so lunch was on the road. I had 2 slices of ham on 2 slices of 7 grain bread, 6 baby carrots, and 8 chips (too tired to care). I tried to sleep as much as I could so that I could relieve DH whenever he needed, but after that short stint, he was fine. Unfortunately, DS never really calmed down. He would doze for a few minutes then was fussing and crying, never wanting anything really. This was truly the worst he had ever been in his whole life and he is normally an excellent traveller, so laid back. All of my kids are except DD7, she will never sleep, just talk (as a baby she cried).

We wanted to get as far as we could and actually traffic was not too bad. This time we went through Atlanta at 6:00pm and it was a breeze, only taking 18 minutes (of course it was Saturday ;) ). We stopped just south of Atlanta at Taco Bell for supper. DS was thrilled to have some quality leg stretching time. I had 1 soft taco, 1/4 mexican pizza, 3 nacho chips, and 10 oz. Sierra Mist.

Back on the road. We drove down to Perry, GA and spent the night at the Holiday Inn. Not a bad price ($62 incl. breakfast buffet & tax), but we needed two rooms. The older 3 girls took one room and DH, DD7, DS and I took the other. DS had a blast running around the room. We were in bed about 10:45pm and DS decided to sleep with me. Much better for me, since DD7 throws her arms across your face in the middle of the night. :rolleyes1 We knew the little ones probably wouldn't sleep together with DS being so crabby.

That's the end of day one. Long and tiring. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

On with more WDW trip reporting.

We got up early and had the car packed by 6:00am. It felt so good to sleep a decent sleep. DS was still a little tired, but much better.

Down to the buffet. They actually serve quite a bit for something that is included in the room price. I tried the grits (never had them before). After 4 small bits, I decided that I didn't really care for them. They are okay and I could eat them if I had too, but I'd rather leave them. I ate 1 sm biscut w/ gravy (not bad), about 1/2 of an egg scrambled (was a little undercooked), and 1/2 c. honeydew melon. Plus I had water. There was plenty more on the buffet like sausage, bacon, muffins, bagels, etc, but I was trying to be very careful with my choices. Although I could have had a mini muffin instead of the biscuit and gravy. :confused3

Back on the road by 7:00am. Thankfully, DS slept a good portion of the way. Such a relief from the yesterday. Lunch was 2 slices of ham on 2 slices of 7 grain bread, some Doritos :rolleyes1 , and 6 baby carrots. BTW, buy gas in GA, before entering FL. It is much cheaper. Guess I forgot to look on the boards for that one.

Finally, we were on the Florida Turnpike. We can feel the excitement as we drive beside Orlando, heading into Lake Buena Vista. The exit is near! We see the entrance to the WORLD! It is so funny how that can really make you perk up. It felt so good to be back. So already, I am chomping at the bit to see BWI come into view. There it is! I am so excited about this stay! I just love the look of BWI as you pull up.

I went inside to check into BWV and got a great and wonderful "Welcome Home!". I love being a DVC member, check-in was so smooth. This was our first trip back since becoming members on our last trip. Great news! The room was ready and it was only 1:00pm! We had rooms 4019 & 4021 (a two bedroom lock-off). The vehicle was unloaded and Bell services took us up to the rooms. It was so nice to have the bellman put things in the rooms where we wanted them. I also love Valet parking when you first check-in. It saves so much time.

I cannot tell you how wonderful the villa looked. The view looked out over the water towards S&D. Because of the way we faced, we couldn't see YC :sad2: , but that was ok. The room is a bit of a walk from the elevator, but it it's not bad. Quickly we unpacked and I just was having too much fun utilizing the large amount of space we had. It was wonderful to have a large sink area and the whirlpool tub looked so inviting. A king size bed, a kitchen, a living room, storage space, and a seperate bedroom so we didn't have to listen to the girls all night! I AM REALLY LOVING THIS! DH ran down to the front desk to pick up our 'will call' park tickets. So convenient.

After unpacking, we ran down to Walmart (DH took the wrong turn 2x so it took longer. :sad2: ) Picked up our groceries and a few other things then went back to the villa. Having valet parking after unloading groceries was great. It just allowed us to concentrate on getting the room set up. I figured that most of the food would get us through until we went to BCV and then we could pick up some more. Why move more stuff than you have to? :confused3

Afterwords, we relaxed for a few minutes and then DH decided to take DD7 and DS swimming. The older DD's, friend, and I headed towards Downtown Disney. We looked around BW for a little bit and since it was close to 6:30pm, I was hungry and wanted to stop at the pizza window on the BW. DD17 had her mind set on a calzone. Being a little price conscious (there's food in the room, you know) and not wanting really that much to eat myself, I talked her into splitting a pizza with everyone. She grumbled, but that is what we did. I figured it would save room for a treat later. I had 1 1/2 slices of pizza and water. Walked over to Seashore Sweets and got a sample of fudge (very small, but oh so good). :rolleyes1

Then we drove to DTD. The parking really stinks, but I knew that prior to going. We walked from the West End to the Marketplace, stopping along the way. I loved Starablias! :cool1: We window shopped mainly, just getting that good feel of Disney. Of course we went in the World of Disney and had a lot of fun looking at new things, finding a lot of scrapbooking items, pins, toys, kid stuff, etc. I really love that place. DD17's friend was just in awe (first trip to WDW). We had a lot of fun. Later, I thought we could walk over and get a treat from Ghiradelli's. By then DD17 had gotten into a funk and didn't really like the smell of the chocolate (she loves chocolate, but is really a chocolate snob) and didn't really see anything on the list that she would eat. I should have stayed, but when she gets in these moods, you might as well move along or everyone is miserable. We did manage to sneak into the candy section of the store and look around. They were handing out samples there as well. Yes, I ate one. :rolleyes1 Then it was time to head back to the villa.

Once back, we got everyone off to bed. The older girls and DD7 slept in the studio side of the villa. They loved having a refrigerator of their own. DH was munching on chips and I had a few. I think I got in about 50 oz. water and am counting 2 hours of walking as exercise, of course it was more than that. Oh yeah! DH said that DD7 and DS loved the pool.

Time to snuggle into that nice King size bed. We really need to get one of those. I just love the fact that I can sprawl out, have 3 pillows (DH only wanted 1) and yet I am not by any means kicking DH out of bed. Yes, I love luxury!

Gotta go, I am up later than I had intended. I will try to post more about the trip tomorrow. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Ok, yesterday went alright, but could have been better.

I skipped the AM snack. I just wasn't very hungry. I know I shouldn't skip. Lunch was 2 chips and a tuna wrap with extra tuna. I felt very hungry, but in reality should have just made it the normal size. Then later I got snacky and ate a Reese's PB cup, then 1 Tbsp PB, then back for the other PB cup. Shortly after, I went for another Tbsp PB, 2 saltines and about 10 chex cereal squares. For some reason, I was on a PB kick. In reality, I should have made 1/2 a PB sandwich and been done with it. The extra calories from the candy and the extra PB just wasn't worth it. For supper we kept it light and ate BLT's. I had extra lettuce and tomato, 3 strips OM pre cooked bacon (much leaner), and 2 slices 7 grain bread w/ the lightest spread of mayo for flavor that I have ever seen. Also ate 1/4c. of potato salad. Water for the day was 120oz.

All in all, the day wasn't bad and in the past, it was much worse, but I don't like not sticking to plan.

I did get up and move yesterday, but no dedicated exercise. For some reason or other most things on my list didn't get done according to plan. Too much planning for BIL to come start on the roof today, making plans for the store (I suppose you could say I was in meetings with my partner in crime :rotfl2: ), etc. Oh well, new day.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/cheese, 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/ jelly, and 1 c. hot tea w/vanilla (from Twinings in UK at WS in Epcot, it's very good.)
AM snack: pineapple & cottage cheese
Lunch: salad
PM snack: banana smoothie
Supper: probably pizza, we have an extra family plus 2 or 3 guys to feed.

Goals for day:
1. clean my office (on my list for days, I know :rolleyes1 )
2. clean the house
3. really clamp down on getting my work for the store back up to speed
4. exercise (take 15 minute breaks to dance, walk, or something)

I have been doing some reading lately and watching poeple's eating habits and I have decided to try to make a few changes to my approach to food. Reader's Digest this month mentions how most other countries go for quality over quantity, more whole foods, make meals a social environment w/ more talk, and just move around more versus a 1/2 hour of vigorous exercise. In my travels over the last 20 years, I have found this to be true. So, I am going to try implementing the same techniques. For starters on the sweets, I am going to go out and buy a small box of Godiva chocolates. Because they are so good (and expensive), I eat only 1 piece a week (on avg) and savor it. Usually when I have a box around, I don't touch any other sweets because I have gotten my fix with the one piece. I am going for quality over quantity. At least the one piece is worth it, as opposed to some old candy bar. It's at least worth a try. I also want to do the same with the other meals I eat. Quality. Make a plan to move around more, not just sit at the computer.

Well, I better get going. Lots to do. DSis and family and friends are coming this afternoon to begin work on the roof. I am going to try to stick with my plan as much as possible this weekend with everyone here and keep up on my water.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

i hear you about the pb cravings...i've been having some of my own...but i think i've finally put that behind me now :) YAY ;)

at any rate, wanted to wish you a SUPER weight loss day!!! :goodvibes

JUST KEEP SWIMMING :fish:

huggies,
Jen :)

I LOVE YOUR TRIP REPORTS!!! Seriously, they are just so much fun!

First, your college weekend with DD sounds great. I think she'll really love anthropology; those departments tend to be small, but filled with great profs.

I recently heard some of the same reports on "quality" foods and also think they're on to something. I totally agree- if you're going to splurge, do it up right with some Godiva! Plus, you won't be so sad that the European chocolate is gone ;)

DH and I went on one of the DVC tours last time we were at WDW, and will probably buy once I get hired full time. It sounds so great! Can't wait to hear more about the trip!

I love your trip reports, too! You're giving me the itch to get back to WDW!

I can't wait to hear how it went getting a group like that around the World! Smart thinking letting DD take a friend--I think it makes things a lot easier.

Sounds like a super-duper busy couple of days. I'm impressed at how quickly you've been able to bounce back from the month you had!

Sounds like you have a great plan for today. I completely agree with you on the idea of incorporating more whole foods, and better quality foods into your diet. I also am a firm believer in "moving around" not only do you get tons done, but it helps boost your fitness. I'd love to hear how it works out for you, since I'd like to do the same thing.

Have a great day! Thank you so much for the motivation--it means a lot to me and it really, really helps! :flower:

You are SO good at getting back on track after all your trips. I'm impressed.

I like your idea about quality over quantity.

You, too, will be in my thoughts as we cross the Mississippi into Illinois on the way to Chicago. I can't wait to see green cropland!!

I'm betting you will be way down again by the time I get back!

Have a great 2 weeks!

Well, you can definitely say that I have been moving more today. Since we have so much company coming this afternoon, DH and I went out to set up the campers (they both have air). This was a little after noon.

The travel trailer is a breaze :teeth: . The pop up is another story. First we had to move it away from the road and closer to the other to make more of a "community" so I didn't have guys all over my yard being loud during the night. Well, DH almost forgot how to hook it up. I kept telling him that I would just do it, but no. (He should have just let me, it would have been quicker ;) ) Not that DH can't do these things, but in his old age, he is getting forgetful and stubborn. Thankfully, I got to pull it around to where we wanted it, 'cause he says he has forgotten how. :scratchin Don't know if I buy that one. ;)

Finally, everything is in place. Oh, yeah, we moved the trampoline as well. He went to pull down the awning on the travel trailer and we realized that it needed to be cleaned so he set about doing that. I decided to wash the pop up since we are selling it to DSis and BIL, I thought it should look good. It has sat under a tree, next to the road, and a few times, I have caught little children with dirty feet on top. So you can imagine how filthy it was.

Well, it was alot of scrubbing and then I hear DH complain (probably good-heartedly) that it was a lot of work to clean the awning and he was getting hot and sweaty and he didn't like it when I accidentally got him wet. pirate: I should have just let him have it with the hose. Needless to say, as the heat was baking down, I was steaming up. :rolleyes1 I cleaned the whole dang pop up and was not in the mood to listen to these complaints. Of course, towards the end, I realized that the scrub brush he was using for the awning worked much better and quicker than the rag I was using on the camper. :sad2: I could have been done sooner. OH well.

The good news is that I am counting 2 hours as exercise since I was sweating to death and moving vigorously. Time to go shower. This was not what I had planned today, but it does feel really good to get out and get some physical work done that needed to be done. I LOVE LOSING WEIGHT.

Talk to you later. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

i'd count that as exercise too :)

JUST KEEP SWIMMING leslie!!! :) you're well on your way, to another great weight loss day....;)

Just a real quick note. Yesterday was so busy. The roof has been started and it sounds like the house is coming down. It's raining shingles. :umbrella:

Got in the AM snack, then around lunch time I had about 10 chips. After that I went out to work on the campers. So my lunch ended up being 1 tuna wrap (slim on the tuna since DD15 ate most of it). That was around 3:30, so no PM snack. Supper was a little later. I had 4 slices of pizza :rolleyes1 . Yes, I let quantity overrule and while I was doing so, I knew that it wasn't right, so hopefully it won't happening again. Also had about 10 oz of Pepsi. Done eating by 8pm. That was good. Then grabbed a small handful of popcorn around 10pm, that was bad. :sad2: I seriously think it was stress.

DSis told me that they weren't putting anything on the pop-up, so looks like we will be selling it to someone else. pirate: This would have been fine if we were informed before they started the work. We might have put it off until fall, but no, they tell us afterwards. Needless to say, I don't think BIL will be doing much else for us. He does a great job, but always changes what has previously been worked out. :sad2: We are not here to support them. Helping out is one thing, total support is another. Not that I am opposed to paying people for work, but the reason we were doing this now was because it was getting worked out in trade and helping everyone in the long run. If they wanted cash, it would have been nice to wait for another few months. My God, do they think we have so much laying around? We have college payments starting soon and a store that needs some updates amongst everything else. Oh well. I will get through this.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/ cheese, 2 slices ham, and 1/2 c. tea w/ vanilla.
AM snack: ?
Lunch: grilled chicken breast on bun w/ onion
PM snack: ?
Supper: ?

Goals for day:
1. stay sane
2. Don't overeat
3. try to get some of my work done

Guess I better get going. Pray that it doesn't rain or the roof will be delayed.

Have a great day. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

As my friends would say--you're an animal!!!! Great job getting all of that hot, heavy work done yesterday!

Sorry to hear about the troubles with BIL & co. At least you know now and don't have to schedule any more work with them. It sounds really frustrating though, so I really admire you for keeping your cool.

How do you like this heat?!? :sunny: We were going to go downtown for the Taste, but that quickly got scrapped. I think we'll be spending the day in a nice cool movie theater!

Have a wonderful day!!! :earsboy:

Hey Lesli,
Thanks for the encouragement you posted on my journal. I read back a little ways on your journal to kind of get caught up. Congratulations on being so close to the 100's  . I am in exactly the same place. I weighed in at 204 last Wednesday and I was like, well what now? It was very shocking to me. I thought I would pretty much always be fat. But now that I have lost down so close to the 100's I feel like I could do anything I wanted. It's so cool. :teeth: I am also fittin into my 18's very well and some are even a little loose, so I know what you mean when you say those 16's are so close you can taste them. Good Job and congratulations!

:cool1:

Needless to say it is tense around here. The roofing is taking longer than expected and some of the guys need to go home today. DSis says that BIL always underestimates time on projects and then gets frustrated when they take longer. He has not been in a great mood. Also learned that things are not going well between the two of them (again) which is adding to everything. One day she will leave, it is just a matter of time. Oh well, probably one more day after today, we'll pay him, he'll be gone and I won't have to deal with him and projects again. Haven't been able to update DH on some of this since he has been working and we have had "ears" so to speak.

On the plus side, I did stay fairly sane and didn't overeat. Amazing since some of the kids (including my own) have been way over the top. Not listening, push the limits, etc. Oh it has been fun around here. DH mentioned that he might go somewhere today on his day off and I just looked at him and said that if he did then I was taking another trip somewhere. He laughed and said "that's my wife". ;)

Up 1 lb. I think it is TOM, so that should even back out soon.

No AM snack or PM snack. Lunch was 2 potato chips, grilled chicken on bun (no onions so I added a few drops of ceasar dressing, yum), and 7 fritos. I used to love fritos and I remembered why I quit. Too addicting and not really that good. Supper was homemade chicken salad (DSis made it, really good) on 2 slices of 7 grain, small salad, and a couple of cups of fresh fruit. I got in over 120 oz water. I think I counted #5 three times. :confused3

Everyone was up early today and it sounds like the squirrels on my roof (which we have a problem with sometimes) have grown and are moving in. :rotfl2:

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/ cheese, 2 slices ham, 1 c. fresh fruit, 1 c. tea w/ vanilla
AM snack: fruit
Lunch: chicken salad on leftover salad (that sounds odd to say)
PM snack: fruit
Supper: ? Depends on who is here.

Goals for day
1. Be strong for DSis (tension is higher for her today)
2. Stay sane
3. TRY to get some work done (doesn't work well with company)

Well, I better get going. It is :umbrella: shingles again off the smaller roofs.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
