Lesli's Live Long and Strong WISH Journal

I forgot to post my totals for the Summer Challeng Part II. I managed to do 20/25 lbs lost. Not bad. It would have been nice to meet the goal, but the reality is that sometimes life is busy and at least I am maintaining along the way and still moving in the right direction.

Time to go remove the summer clippie. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I think you did a great job for the summer challenge! Good job for sticking with it despite obstacles.

I hope you have a great day and perk up soon! I'm glad your DD8's party went well last night. Her books sound really nice. I'm sure she'll have a great time with them!

Here's some :sunny: to wake you up!

Hi Lesli! I just found your journal this morning and I've sat here and read pretty much the whole 49 pages. I am very impressed with your great attitude and how you've managed to always get back on track even when life has thrown you curves. It's so hard to concentrate on being healthy when there are so many demands on us, but you are doing great! Congratulations on your success so far - and I know that you will reach all your goals with that great attitude of yours! :sunny:

Hi Lesli!

Glad that last night went well! What great gifts for your daughter, reading is soo important to foster! :) And who better to read about than Peter Pan and Tink?!
As for the Summer Challenge, 20lbs is an awesome 20lbs!!! Wow, that is 80 sticks of butter you used to carry around with you every day and you don't anymore!! Go you!!! :sunny: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc

Hope that you get everything done on your list today and have fun doing it!

Yesterday wasn't so good in terms of food. Water was so-so. But I did manage to get 90% of my kitchen clean, cleaned a bathroom, straightened the living room, swept most rooms. Did a little organizing of GS. Beyond that, I was on the couch watching Lifetime movies, which I haven't done in a long time. It was kind of nice to relax, but at the same time I was too tired to actually "enjoy" the relaxing.

AM snack was missed. Lunch was chicken teriyaki (guess there was more rice than I though) and some cookies. PM snack was cookies, PB, and something else, but I don't know what. Supper was the rest of the chicken teriyaki. Later, I had a brat on bun. Not because I was hungry, more like it was there, I was tired and stressing a little.

Still a little tired today. Let's hope that things are better though.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/gr pepper & moz, 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/jelly, 1 c. grapefruit juice
AM snack: cottage cheese
Lunch: salad w/turkey & craisins
PM snack: fruit
Supper: tuna wrap or something else quick

Goals for day:
1. stay on plan
2. 30 min exercise
3. all my water

It's busy today. I have a GS meeting this afternoon and then I have CPR training. Plus things to get in the mail, errands to run, etc.

Not sure when I will get to anyone's journal. Sorry, I have not been keeping up on them. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Wow! What a crazy busy week you've had! When it rains it pours, I guess. Hope you get some more rest

Your DD18 sounds like she's right on track, and the ROTC training sounds fantastic. Some kids crash and burn when they get to college because they don't know how to manage independently, but she sounds like she's taking every advantage of the college experience. Sounds like the boyfriend (well, I guess ex now) is a bit threatened by that independence.

Seems like we are on the same wavelength with food- some good days, some bad. At least we know now that we will be able to maintain when the time comes. But, you did excellent on your Summer Challenge. 20 lbs is huge!!! Accentuate the positive :)

Hope you have a good week!

WOW - you have been a busy bee. Just a couple of more weeks until convention - are you ready???? I can't wait for you to get back and we can chat about how it was. Wish I was going with you all.

I was happy to read back and see that you were still staying on track as much as you could even through your busyness - that's a good thing. You sound like me though - just a few more days and things will settle down. This is my settle down week and then it starts up again for a couple of weeks.

Hang in there my friend!!!!

Keep on
Chris

I hope you had a great day today and managed to find your mojo somewhere in there. Is it possible you're coming down with something? It's just so unusual to hear you as anything but your super-energetic self! Sending some :wizard: to get your energy back and to stave off and bugs!

Sounds like you've got a full day and great plan to manage it all. I hope it turns out well!

Hi Lesli,

Glad to hear you got some relaxation time! I am sure it is rare with all that you do! (Even if you were too tired to enjoy it!)
Godd luck staying on plan and meeting your goals for the day! Good luck also on tomorrow's weigh in! :)

Mike :goodvibes

Well, the scale is back down to 190.5. Let's hope for getting back to the 180's tomorrow. :cool1:

Amazingly, I ate pretty heavy yesterday and yet managed to lose. But I did try to keep up with the water and I did stay busy. It is a lesson for when you should eat certain foods during the day though. I think that if I had eaten the heaviest meals during the end of the day then I would either not see a difference in the scale or it would be up. Interesting.

All I did was GS yesterday. Even at the CPR training, since it was filled with leaders. Crazy but busy day. I did get a 15 min walk in, other than that it was just the sheer running around that hopefully upped my metabolism some.

Water was almost on track. AM snack, missed. Lunch 2 brats on buns. Yes, you read that right. Other than the taste, I am not sure why I ate two. Part of it might have been that I was hungry, part maybe that I was still a little tired. PM snack was missed. Somewhere, I might have slipped in a cookie but I can't remember. Supper was after 9pm and it was a LC spaghetti dinner, followed by some PB.

Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg w/cheese, 1 c. milk, 1 c. grapefruit juice, 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/jelly
AM snack: grapes
Lunch: salad
PM snack: cottage cheese
Supper: Not sure, think I will look through the cookbooks

Goals:
1. 30 min exercise
2. all water
3. stay more focused on what I eat, ask "is it worth it"

Another busy GS day. I have so much paperwork to get in the mail, but if I work things right today, I can be caught up on most of my GS areas and not have much to do for a few weeks. That would be a blessing. Tonight is a GS meeting and there is potential trouble brewing in one of my towns so I am not looking forward to the meeting. The person overseeing the town is a control freak and no matter what I do to make things better, something is going to "explode" so to speak. I think I need a raise :rotfl2: . Oh that's right, this is volunteer.

Pearlieq - I am so glad that you think I am super energetic. I don't always feel that way, in fact I feel like I don't get enough done soon enough. But I will say that I am getting more done than I did in the "before". Not coming down with anything, I just had a very long weekend.

On a sad note: My DSis' ex was in a motorcycle accident about a week ago. It was really bad and they expect he will be in the hospital for 1-2 months and after that who knows how long recovery at home will take. He's pretty banged up, on a resucitator, brain swelling, can't remember things, the memories he has he thinks he is still in the service which was 16 years ago, doesn't really remember his children, etc. When I pick up DD18 on Friday, I am going to stop at the hospital which is on the way. DSis wants to go, but her current husband doesn't understand why and is pitching a fit. Now she has to go to her lawyer to have her son moved back to her house until her ex can better take care of himself and his son, if he ever gets to that point. It's one day at a time. It's very sad and he is only 39. Sadder yet is that his current wife may not stick this out with him given her track record.

Anyway, I better get going. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Sending :wizard: to float you into the 180's! For some reasons those thresholds just seem so exciting and motivating. I know you can do it!!!

I am so sorry you hear about DSis' ex. I hope he recovers quickly and that her son is able to cope will all of it. Your sis is lucky to have you to lean on through this.

I hope the GS meeting goes well and that you're all spared the drama. I definitely think they should at least double your salary for having to deal with all this! :teeth:

I hope you have a wonderful day today!!!

Wow! You've been busy!

Here's hoping & praying the 190's go away tomorrow! Pretty soon I have a feeling you're going to go flying past me!

WAY TO GO!!

Hope you're having a better week and get a bit of YOU time!

Hi Lesli,

Just wanted to wish you congrats on your loss this week!!
Sounds like you are on GS overload!!! :)
Hope that you get a few peaceful moments tonight! So sorry to hear about Dsis's ex's accident (wow's that's a lot of " 's " hehehe!)

Have a happy & healthy one!
Mike :goodvibes

GS overload? Yes, that would be a good phrase for it. I just keep telling myself that some of this stuff is a one time thing and next year we won't have to mess with it, but it is beginning to irritate me that there is still so much to be done that could have been done by now if that other town would work with me a bit. We will see how that one plays out on Sunday when I attend their meeting. The info I got last night is not going to sit well with some people over there. The sad thing is that most of this could have been avoided.

I didn't slow down yesterday until about 9:30pm. That is when I finally ate supper and is the reason why the scale didn't move much. The scale was down last night when I did my Biggest Loser weigh in so I was hoping for good results this morning, but eating late just stalls things. Oh well.

AM snack was missed. Lunch was changed to HC chicken & rice soup w/4 saltines. PM snack was missed. During the day, I did have some cheetos (not alot) and a bag of M&M peanut (sm bag and very tasty). My biggest mistake was not taking enough time to eat supper before my meeting. So at the meeting, I ate 3 or 4 mini snickers and a handful of small cookies. My late supper was some riblets, wild rice and 2 cookies.

I have been on a sugar binge lately. This needs to stop. Some sugar just makes you crave more sugar. It is becoming my biggest problem lately and I need to get ahold of it now to make a change.

DH gave me a great compliment yesterday, telling me that I was looking really good. I had on a shirt that I haven't worn in a long time. Although, it fit much better this time around as I know I wore it when I was heavier. Such a great lift to the spirits.

Breakfast: oatmeal, yogurt, 2 slices ham, 1 c. grapefruit juice
AM snack: banana
Lunch: probably Chinese
PM snack: probably won't be hungry
Supper: salad

Goals for day
1. get some exercise
2. drink all my water (still working on this lately)
3. If I want something sweet, find something healthy or do something active until the moment passes

Here's interesting news. My mother and aunt just got notice that the road in front of their house was going to become a 4 lane highway and that it would cut into properties 80 feet each direction. Basically, that puts it right through the front half of their house. I told her that maybe it was God's way of telling my aunt it was finally time to move and that she needed to stop finding excuses. Now, they are just hoping that the buy out is a decent price, either way looks like they are moving now.

Well, I best get going. I want to get some things finished up around here before I run errands. And I must do the bills, plus try to fit some bookwork back in.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Sorry to hear about your mom and aunt's house! For what it's worth, I hear the buyouts are usually pretty darn lucrative. I hope they get a great offer!

You hit the nail right on the head about the sugar! A little bit just leads to more and more and more! I hope you can find a good way to work through that one.

Sorry to hear about the GS stress. Too bad everyone can't just cooperate! It doesn't sounds like the meeting is going to be pleasant, but maybe at least you can clear the air and start fixing things.

I hope you have a great day!!!

Let's just pretend that yesterday was planned differently and I was going to take a rest day, because basically I did exactly that. Obviously, I needed to have a day where I just didn't think about things much. It protects the sanity every once in awhile.

DH decided that we didn't have time for errands and Chinese buffet at lunch, so things went down hill from there in terms of how much energy I wanted to put into any kind of work. I did not relax in front of the tv, but I did talk to a friend on the phone quite a bit and just enjoyed the day. The moving wall came in yesterday and everyone thought it would be a big thing, but surprisingly, it is smaller than imagined.

AM snack was missed, thought I was having Chinese. Lunch became 1 brat on bun and a few cheetos. PM snack was missed, but I did have a cookie and some M&M's. Supper was a little late since DH and I ran errands late with the youngest two. On the way home, we fed them and I ate a few of their fries, but not many. I realized the only thing that was appealing about the fries was the salt, not worth it. After getting home, I had HC garden veggie soup and 6 saltines, followed by PB and 2 cookies. A lot better on the sugar, but I need to start working veggies and fruits back in.

Breakfast: 1 bowl of Basic 4 cereal. I can already tell that I will be hungry real soon. It tasted ok (I used to love it), but I have gotten used to more balanced breakfasts.
AM snack: yogurt
Lunch: salad
PM snack: fruit
Supper: homemade potato soup (it's cold enough now)

Goals for day
1. all my water (maybe I should skip the ice since it is getting cooler)
2. stick to the food plan

I should get going. As soon as my laundry is finished, I need to run a few errands and plan birthday cakes for this weekend. Along with getting a few other things done around here.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

You're certainly right about it being cool enough for potato soup! Fall is most definitely here!

I think it's nice you got some time to relax and catch up with a friend yesterday. It's good for the soul!!!

Hope you have a great day today! :flower:

Yesterday was crazy. I ended up running errands in 3 different towns. I tried to go for two, but then DH's brother noticed that my license plates were expired, so I had to go to a third town to the DMV. We never got a notice. Of course, I found out that this has happened to a lot of people in IL, not to mention that the notices this year look like junk mail and many people are just tossing them. Now that, I can believe because we got a notice for the van last week and I thought it was junk, but I always look at the return info before I toss anything, just as a double check.

Anyway, lot's of errands are done for the weekend.

AM snack was as planned. Lunch was late and ended up being a 1/4 lb and fries at McD's. I have really grown to dislike McD's, but in the small towns, often times, that is all there is. Personally, I don't even care for their salads. Oh well. I skipped the PM snack, but had a few of DS's M&M's. They were the crispy kind and I don't really like those. Supper was two bowls of potato soup. At least, I didn't have 3. Next time, it is one bowl and salad, but it tastes so yummy. So, actually, I didn't do too bad yesterday.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/cheese, 2/3 slice wheat toast w/ jelly (I'd rather have my 7 grain), 1 c. milk, 1 c. grapefruit juice, 2 slices ham
AM snack: grapes
Lunch: soup & salad
PM snack: cottage cheese & veggies
Supper: maybe Subway (something reasonable that DD18 and I can find)

Goals for day:
1. stick with the plan
2. get in at least the minimum water amount

I have to bake cakes this morning for the birthdays tomorrow. Tonight, I will have to decorate them. I need to finish putting together "kits" for GS who are attending the Moving Wall so they can lay a flower, do name rubbings, recieve a patch, etc. This afternoon, I need to stop at the hospital to see my ex BIL. It's on the way to picking up DD18. Then I guess later we need to spiff up the house and start decorating for the 2 in 1 birthday party. Oh and wrap presents. Sounds like a busy day.

Gotta go, everyone have a good day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good luck with the cake decorating, and have a great weekend!!! :)

I am so tired. Before I forget. September's exercise challenge was 230/500. Not very good, but I have at least been on the go and not watching tv. The Lose 5 for September was 4/5 lbs lost. Time to make October better.

What didn't I do yesterday? Worked on GS kits for the Moving Wall. Went to the Moving Wall ceremony, baked cakes, I will begin decorating here soon. Picked up DD18 (2 hrs away) and saw my ex BIL in the hospital. He is doing much better and is incredibly lucky. Looks like he might actually be out in a week. Then of course the general errands.

AM snack was missed. Lunch was only the potato soup. PM snack was a few oyster crackers and PB as I ran out the door. Supper was a taco and burrito from Taco Bell. By that point, I really didn't care as long as it was food. Water was almost right were it should be.

Breakfast: cream of wheat, 2 slices ham, 1 c. grapefruit juice
AM snack: grapes
Lunch: soup and salad
PM snack: birthday cake
Supper: maybe Pizza Hut

Goals for day:
1. stay awake
2. Stay on plan
3. Get my water in

I better run. I have to finish decorating cakes, get the house clean, finish the GS kits for the Moving Wall, take my troop to the moving wall, put the final touches on the party, have a party, and then I am not sure. By that time, I will be lucky if I can still move.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
