Anyone have a quick dinner here? I know people rave about a quick breakfast location, but wondering about sandwiches. Anyone have pictures of their sandwiches?
There are also soups & salads --- and amazing deserts.
Les Halles is one of our "not to be missed" stops every vacation! We often make it our last stop & pick up breakfast to take back to our resort for the next morning.

The ham and cheese croissant is good, I have enjoyed the quiche Lorraine as well. I have tried the croque monsieur on a couple different times, and both times I has severely disappointed. It was dry, very little ham, and the cheese was over toasted and didn't taste even somewhat close to the ones I had in Paris. I thought maybe one time it was just an off day, but the second time I got it the sandwich was just as bad.
As for sweets, the duo au chocolate (a dome of some white chocolate, but mostly regular chocolate mousse coated with a ganache of chocolate) is fantastic!
My wife and I used to love the Croque Monseur. Last visit (about a year and a half ago), it wasn't that good. I've read on the boards here that they've made changes to it (not for the better).
I always get the Ham and Cheese croissant and I forget what my wife gets but what we really splurge on is the desserts. We choose about 6 desserts and share. Believe me, we can't possibly eat them all but how can you decide between them all and just choose 1?

Agreed, choosing just one is almost impossible! My DD always gets the chocolate mousse. The chocolate mousse is great but I really love the strawberry tart, and the napolean, and I really want to try the chocolate tart. lol
My husband has the jambon buerre sandwich multiple times each tip. A friend who travels to Paris frequently says the sandwich is authenticity French.
Jambon (ham) & Swiss (I think) cheese. The buerre is a mustard flavored butter on the most delicious baguette. They will heat it so the bread is crunchy perfection and the cheese melts.
