Hello everyone:thumbsup2

we are leaving for disney in 9 days for free dining :goodvibes . One of our ADR'S is at les chefs (france pavillion) for dinner. Last time we ate there was about 6 months ago, and there was a steak on the menu. After looking at the menu on this website I see that the steak is no longer listed :sad1:

can anyone confirm if the steak has been taken off the menu or if its still there? I'm a big meat eater and might consider cancelling if this is the case. The only other beef dish on the menu seems to be the short ribs. Has anyone tried these?

thanks for the info!

I'm not sure what menu you were seeing but both the lunch and dinner menus still list NY Strip Steak and Fillet Mignon. I think you'll find plenty of red meat there! :goodvibes

Actually, in rereading your post are you asking about Les Chefs? Or Le Cellier? Le Cellier is the steakhouse but I believe it is in the Canada Pavillion.

Don't mean to go OT in your thread, but you can change the title of your own "thread." Just click edit within your post - this appears to only take you into the body of your initial post; hit the edit again - which then pops up the post and title. I learned this the hard way myself. ;) I go nuts if I have a typo in my "title." :goodvibes (wish more people felt that way:laughing: )

Thanks for the edit advice! :thumbsup2

Original question stands, does anyone know if the steak is still available?? :confused3

I'm so glad I could help. :flower3:

I also just went to allearsnet menus and saw a grilled tenderloin of beef on the dinner menu. I'm actually not sure if that would constitute steak, but I think so.

I'd say because of free dining :( boy were we bummed out. We were there last Friday night. The menu offered only one beef dish and it was some kind of short ribs, not my idea of a good beef dinner.

We won't be eating there again until they change the menu back. If you really want beef I recommend you change your ADR and go somewhere else. I ended up with rotisserie chicken that I found to be about par with that served in the parks and my husband said the salmon was 'okay'. not what we were dreaming of!!!

I much preferred our lunch meals at Liberty Tree, if you want a hunk of meat try the potroast, it's amazing!!!

Hope that helps and have fun on your trip!!!

We ate at Chefs two weeks ago and we had an excellent dinner. There was no steak on the menu, but we knew that and didn't care. My DH and DS had the short ribs and they enjoyed them very much. I had the pork chop and thought it was delicious. Since we were eating for free, we were okay with no filet. I had the filet in January and it was very good, but I didn't miss it on this trip. The Free Dining was fabulous and we had big fun!

Yep only Beef dish on the menu last week for us was Short ribs DH did order them but he was not happy to be eating Short Ribs they was VERY VERY tender melted in mouth but he was very disappointed not to get steak.

Chefs was our least fav out of 7 dinners.

We skipped Les Chefs when we were at WDW last week because our meal there a year ago was less than thrilling. They seem to take the steak off the menu during free dining. They did it in 2006 and, apparently, again this year.

I'll tell you the surprise yummy steak of our trip last week -- I know, I know, I couldn't believe it either -- the New York Strip at Tony's Town Square. I hate to even post this since there will be a run on that restaurant now, and for all I know they just happened to get a particularly delicious shipment of steaks at the time we were there.

In any event, it was delicious, tender, flavorful (with a nice aged flavor to it), grilled to perfection (we chose medium rare), came with a tasty roquefort butter and potatoes. It was actually a better steak, flavor- and texture-wise, than the filet mignon with mac and cheese we had a few nights later at Jiko. I think the steak is only on the dinner menu but I'm not absolutely sure about that.

I know, I know. Unbelievable, but true!
