We are dining at Chefs this evening. I'll probably do the 3 course "Prix Fixe". Anyone done this before? What do you recommend??? Thanks in advance!

I did it our last trip. I got the Lobster Bisque, the Gratin de Macaroni and the Profiteroles au chocolat. It was all very good, but next time I would go with the Creme Brulee. I had a bite of my mom's and it was AWESOME.:thumbsup2

I like the Soupe a l'oignon gratinee (onion soup), Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates (braised beef short ribs), and profiteroles.

Your meal looks exactly like something my ds12 would enjoy. I am not a huge meat eater, so I never order short ribs. Are they very fatty? that would be a problem. He loves filet mignon because of how lean it is. He also loves brisket, which I do make at home, because it is braised and very tender.

He also loves french onion soup, but I know he'd order the creme brulee!

Should he give this a try?

I don't remember there being a lot of fat on the ribs, but there was some. The meat itself was very tender (fork tender) and had really good flavor. Ordering it would depend on what type of reaction he would have to possibly seeing some fat on the meat. I just removed the fat and put it on the side of the plate (out of the way) and happily ate the rest of the meat.

The prix fixe menu also included the Demi poulet fermier roti, pommes rissolees et tomate grillee (half a grilled chicken), which had good flavor.

It also has the lobster bisque. I'm not a big fan of bisque, but the person that ordered it liked it.

NO FAT and very tender. The creme brulee is TDF. Usually we each order a differant dessert so we can sample. Not here 3 creme brulees please! I'm not sharing :snooty:

thanks everyone! small amounts of fat that he can just cut off he can handle, but if it is super fatty then he would just pick at it. He's a good eater but is crazy about fat on meat! I think I'll recommend this to him!!!

We did the pre fix menu last year, I had never tried lobster bisque before, pretty yummy a bit salty. DH got the French onion soup. I loved the short ribs and I think I had the cream puffs for dessert. All in all soo good, we made sure to add it to our next years trip plan
