Headed over for the day this weekend for my birthday :thumbsup2 and I get to eat in France for the first time. I don't do onions or bell peppers so that let out quite a few dishes. Which would you choose between...

Ham & Cheese (not a huge ham fan but I'll eat it on occasion)
H&C Quiche
Fancy Mac & Cheese

I KNOW I'm getting Escargots as an appetizer. LOVED them at the F&W Fest in the past. :lovestruc

We're also bringing our 3 kids. The older 2 will probably get the chicken strips as they aren't very adventurous at this point. The baby (23mo) can share some of their chicken but do they still give a bowl of pasta for free to them? I remember getting some at CRT one year. Thanks!

We LOVE the Mac & Cheese and have it every time we are there. It's big enough for 2 of us to split, so we also get the French Onion Soup with the same cheese on top.

In December, they had a lunch special with 3 items for about $20, so we also got a dessert to split. My niece and I were both full when we finished lunch.

Have a great meal!

I absolutely LOVE the mac and cheese. It's definitely big enough to share between two people. The short ribs are also very, very good, but I'm not sure if they're on the lunch menu.

They have a very nice charcuterie platter and an excellent salade nicoise there for lunch, too. ::yes::

We are having lunch at Les Chef de France for the first time in April and I am really getting excited :yay: For those of you who have had the macaroni and cheese, how is the gruyere cheese?? Is is a strong tasting cheese or more like a strong cheddar?? TIA

Gruyere cheese is hard to describe. Mild, but flavorful. Creamy. It is a good cheese. Buy a little at your local supermarket and try it.
I like their mac n cheese. But I actually have a few recipes better than theirs I make. :confused3 Theirs use to be better a few years back. Not that there is anything wrong with it. Just not as good as once was.

We ate lunch there maybe just a month ago. We both had the fix prixe lunch.
DH had the french onion soup. I had the lobster bisque. (I am not an onion person. And hate bell peppers. :snooty: ) We both really enjoyed the soups. And I was expecting a cup of soup. It was a bowl.
We each had the ham n cheese quiche. Very good ham, diced. It was so tender. Even the crust was. I took half of that home for the next day.
Then dessert too! Creme brulee..... :goodvibes

Always a good meal at Chefs. :thumbsup2

The crepes with chicken, peppers and onions is quite good, so sorry you will miss that.

That being said, I had lunch there last week and had the quiche. It was excellent.

To answer one of your questions, they may or may not offer the infant a complimentary plate of something. Some places do, some don't. If you want something specific, you can order it, but expect to pay for it .( and maybe you won't have to)

So I've got 2 votes for the mac & chs and 2 for the quiche. Decisions, decisions...

Thank you to all who replied!

My dd and I shared the mac and cheese and the sandwich. They were both excellent!

the mac and cheese really surprised me - I ordered it because nothing on the menu was really appealing to me that day. It was WAY better than I thought it would be! Delicious!!

I did a solo lunch in June 09 and had the quiche...it was fantastic! Tons of flavor, light and flaky crust, super creamy wonderful filling...I could eat that every single day

Gruyere cheese tastes more like a Swiss Cheese than a cheddar. It is a little more flavorful than a swiss cheese - but I don't consider the taste strong.

I don't know about how the escargot for lunch is served (we ate at Chefs de France for dinner) - but the dinner escargot appetizer was not the same as the escargot offered at the F&W fest booth. The escargot was not in the pastry shell (as at F&W booth) - but the usual escargot in garlic butter sauce which hubby just loves. He was a little apprehensive about ordering the escargot thinking they would be the same as what he had at the F&W fest, but was really glad he did order it when it turned out to be the escargots in garlic butter sauce.

We like the $20 lunch special. I believe I had the Mac and cheese last time and it was excellent!

And I LOVE gruyere cheese. We buy it at the grocery store and just slice it off and eat it without anything else. Yummy!

That's perfectly fine too. I've had them without before (non-Disney) and loved them that way as well. Yum!
