Hello, For those of you who are owners of SLR cameras, what lenses did you bring into the parks and which was used most frequently?

This October we plan on spending time in all four parks and we have a Canon 10D and 550EX flash and are trying to decide which lenses to bring with us. Our current lens options are as follows: Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 EX, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX HSM APO (with 1.4 and 2.0 teleconverters), and a Tokina 19-35 f3.5-4.5 CE AF. To carry this equipment we currently use a Lowepro CompuTrekker AW backpack.

Should we bring this all along or do you think we just need one or two of these lenses?

Any comments of what has worked for you in the past or suggestions regarding what you think we ought to bring would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :wave2:

Hello,
I find that I get the most use out of my 70 - 200 mm lens while at WDW. If you can, also bring the 28 - 70 mm which is great for fireworks.HTH

When I bought my camera, a Canon Digital Rebel I bought a 28-300 Tamron Lens. I figured that should cover all my bases.

I use the 28-300 Tameron too. Works great don't cary anything else most of the time.

It isn't quite wide enough on the Digital ESO and sometimes, particularly if I expect a need for the wider 18-55 lens that came with the Digital EOS I'll take it too, but to be honest most of the time it doesn't get used.

Burnsoc, Iwaseeyore and Zurg, Thanks for your comments. Sounds like we should bring all three lenses to be sure we can capture a focal length between 19 and 200. Anyone else care to share their experiences / opinions? Best regards…

I used my 18-70 exclusively in June and was never in want of a longer lens. Vacation photos tend to skew towards the normal to wide end of the lens spectrum.
