Lens question from a newbie!

I have a Canon S5IS, which I really like since it's really easy to use, but I wish I could zoom more with it. I have a very old Canon EOS Ellan II with a Tamron zoom lens on it. My question is, can I put the Tamron lens on my S5IS? I don't see how i could put it on my camera, but I just want to make sure before I get rid of the old camera & lens. Thanks for your help!

No, you can't put it on the S5. If you had a Canon EOS (Rebel, 50D, 5D.. etc) DSLR you could use it there though.
