I don't think I have posted on these boards before, but I need some guidance from you Disney photographers. I have a Rebel XT, and I have 50mm, 18-55mm and a 70-300mm lenses. I would really like to have a better walkaround lens, particularly for my upcoming Disney trip. I need to be able to get the wide-angle shots that are necessary in crowded character meals, but I would also like the zoom capability that my 18-55 lens doesn't give.
I know there are plenty of expensive lenses that would be perfect, but I can't break the bank. I found these two lenses that fit my budget. The Tamron has a wider range, which would be great, but I figure the wider range would also lead to lesser qulaity at the extreme ends. Any opinions? Also, if you have a suggestion in a similar price range, I would love to hear it! TIA!
Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM Autofocus Lens
Tamron Zoom Super Wide Angle 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Lens for Canon Digital EOS
