Length of the DDP

I have a question concerning the length of the dining plan. Maybe it is a silly question but here it is: Is the DDP good from the moment you enter WDW to the moment that you leave? This is my situation: I am going to WDW from March 26 thru 31 next year. I will purchase a DDP which will be good for the five nights (5 TS meals, 5 CS meals, 5 snacks) I am there. However, I try to maximize my experience at the MagicAL Kingdom by arriving early on the 26th and leaving late on the 31st.

I guess my question is: Can I use the DDP for the six days if I budget my meals and pay for some meals oop? or does the plan end when the five nights are up? On second thought I guess that the dining plan has to be for the entire stay or it wouldn't be so attractive. Correct?

You are correct in assuming that the DDP is good until midnight of your check out day, just like your park hoppers are good even if you have checked out of your hotel.

You may certainly spred your meals out any way you wish...but a bit of advice....don't pay out of pocket early in your stay thinking you will need the credits later....I did that and because of all the food you get on the dining plan, I left with 3 CS meals on my ticket. Use your credits first and then pay out of pocket!

Thanks, I appreciate your info. Your advice about using your food credits first and then pay oop is something that I will do. Now I have to try and get some ADRs.
