I read on the FAQ that the cost of the wheelchairs for length of stay is $8 per day. Can you just tell them you need it for 4 days (estimate) even though we'll be there 7? My daughter gets so tired and doesn't have a lot of endurance but for days when we are only going to be in the park a short time we may not need the wheelchair.

Thanks for any additional info!

For the LOS rental you tell them the first day how many days you expect to use. YOu can buy anything from two on up. You are given a strip of coupons; each day yoiu do a rental one of the coupons gets a date stamp. These are non-refundable. So you may onbly want to buy four days worth.

How old is your daughter? If she is a child you may want to seriously consider renting from an outside vendore to get one that would be a better size for her.

Another option might be to use a stroller or even a double stroller, and go to Guest Services for a GAC or sticker which will allow use of a stroller as a wheelchair.

Thanks so much for the info! I'll look at our itinerary and figure out how many days we for sure will want one and if we need one more than that we'll just pay for it separately.

My DD is 17 so a wheelchair works just fine for her. She never uses one at home, school, etc. but WDW is different. In the past we have rented one when she has gotten pretty worn out. This time I'm thinking maybe we should rent one from the beginning (except for as I mentioned when we are only going to be in the park a few hours) and see if it keeps her from ever getting to that totally worn out state.

She had a heart transplant as a baby and West Nile Virus a few years ago that left her with some weakness. We park the wheelchair in an area and she walks to whatever is around then back in the wheelchair for longer distances. She's one of those that appears "totally healthy" and we've had our share of looks and comments, as many others have.

Thanks again!

You may want to do the offsite rental, that way your duaghter will have and easier time getting around at the resorts. The hotel rooms are so spread out, and getting from place to place in the evenings could be tiring.
Plus, if you goto downtown disney, they have limited number of rentals, and thats pretty spread out too.

If your looking for offsite wheel chair rental places, check out the stickies at the top of the disAbilities forumand there are some rental places people.

We've used walker mobility several times and always had good service.

Thanks for the info! We're staying at Ft. Wilderness and with our rental car we'll be able to park right at our cabin. We're also renting a golf cart for the times we want to explore the resort so I think we'll be okay. And Downtown Disney isn't on our itinerary this time.

I do appreciate the info for next time though!!
