Length of Stay Passes

I have multiple questions, can anyone help? In all my Disney travels, I've never used a 'length of stay' pass, but now we're thinking about it..

#1 How long a pass do you price for? If I'm staying at a hotel for five nights, do I get a five day pass, or a six day pass? It's five nights, but it's six days. The verbiage in most handbooks is confusing.

#2 How early can you get a pass? If we're checking into a hotel today and checkin isn't until four, can we drop by the hotel at 8 and activate the pass, thus getting a full day in the parks?

#3 Are the Swan and the Dolphin, as well as Grovsenor, elible for length of stay?

#4 for Government people: are the governement lenght of stay passes eligible for any hotel that Disney offers them for?

The obvious scenario here is if we've got five days (or three days, or one day, etc) at the Swan, do we have to buy a five day or six day pass to get both the day we arrive and the day we leave. And does the Swan/Dolphin fall under this plan? And if we decide to switch to the Grovsenour, does the same still apply? And will SOG honor the same hotels?

#1) LOS passes are purchased for the amount of nights you're staying. you would purchase a los pass for 5 nights. It would be good until midnight on the day of checkout. therefore, it would be good for the sixth day.

#2) Although stated check-in isn't until 4pm, you can go by the resort at any time that day and do an early check-in which will activate your los passes and you can then go to the parks. we have done this several times before between 6:30 and 7:00am. so, the answer is yes you can.

#3)Yes, I far as I know.

#4)sorry, I don't know this answer for sure, but, I'm leaning toward yes on this.

To sum up: length of stay passes are purchased for the amount of nights you're staying and are good until midnight on the day of checkout. remember that los passes expire when the trip is over whether you visit the parks twice of for all 6 days whereas the park hopper passes never expire. just a thought. hope this helps.

I had a simular question and I was going to call SOG on wednesday to ask them. I am staying for 6 nights/7days. I wanted to get the 6 day stars and stripes pass but wasnt sure if I could do that or not. I thought they might make me buy the 7 day. when I get there on may 7th we are getting there late and wont be going to any of the parks that day. Then on the 8th I have to go to the contempory hotel to the SOG office and buy my passes, then I have the 8-13 to use my passes. Our plane leaves at 5:30 on the 13th so I have half a day to use the 6 day pass. It seemed like the 6 day S&S pass was the best deal. So I will be able to get that one?

Probably the most important thing people may forget is that you can get the LOS (Unlimited Magic) pass as soon as you arrive, even though the room is not ready to.

Rather than pay the price you can make an offer.

If you are arriving late the first day or departing early the alst day you can propose an LOS pass to exclude those days (as fewer nights). You might get what you want particularly if business is slow and LOS passes are not selling well.

If you are making two or more trips within 12 months and totalling eleven or more days, a premium annual pass costs less than LOS passes. (For one trip the break even is about 14 days)

ANother way of making an offer rather than paying the price is to try to use an expired coupon or sale advertisement at a department store. If the clerk declines, just don't buy the item. If it is a store special as opposed to a manufacturer's special, the store is not being cheated by letting the merchandise go at a sale price the day after when they let a lot of it go so during the sale.
