What is the maximum number of nights in a row you can stay at the campground. I heard that Disney has a cap. Thanks!

Bumping up. Does anyone know this? I know some people stay a month or so.

You have to get a new Res. every 30 days. We stayed 8 mo. 15 days

In future, if you need an answer in 45 minutes or less, the search function works really well these days. Just go to the forum you need the answer from and click "search this forum". It is a rare thing to have a question posed that hasn't been answered before. Feel free to ask anything, but if you're in a hurry, try a search.

Supposedly.... there is a 9 month per calendar year limit. I know people who have stayed longer than 15 months. One is there right now - Hilda - on the 700 loop.

You have to make new ressies every 30 days. As long as you reserve the same site level, you don't need to move. We've stayed as long as 4 months.

I've had clients that I've booked for a few months at a time. The reservation has to be split up into a few separate reservations of 30 days each. When I make the reservations, I make a note with Disney, saying that they are "continuing reservations" so that they don't have to switch sites.

I wish I could stay that long myself!! It would be wonderful! :)

Thanks everyone! I wasn't in a hurry, but I do appreciate your advice here...I sure looked like I was impatient! LOL!!!!!
Just didnt want the post getting lost! LOL!!!

Considering doing a long stay, so wanted to check out the rules. Thanks everyone!

I had just inquired during my last trip, because I have an upcoming 3 month stay in 2012. I spoke with a CM about it and the 30 day limit per ressie. He said it has to do with Florida's laws regarding motels/apartments. If the ressie is over 30 days, it falls under the same law as an apartment, giving the renter more rights. Things like having to be forcibly evicted through a legal process if the renter violates the rules (disturbances, criminal actions, etc.) or any other thing the renter does.

He also told me (and I can't remember the specifics), that after so many (?) continuous consecutive 30 day stays, the camper either has to leave for one day, or stay in a different site for one day. I don't know if this is just a Disney rule or something to do with a law or regulation.

Lets see October, 2009 - April, 2011. Check my math. How many days is that? About 550? The bill? $35,000? WOW! Wait though... split into months its only $760 or so. Rents in local trailer parks where I live are about that and you pay your own utilities. Hey the Fort is a bargain!! :happytv:

By the way, I apologize for not giving credit to Shanman for his calculation worksheet which I used for these numbers. I for one wish I was retired. I could see us staying long term. :cool1:

WOW. You all really stay that long? I'd love to do that. My upcoming is only 16 nights.

$760/month????

I think something happened in the math calculation along the way. There is no way you could stay at the Fort for an average of $760 a month. The cheapest rack rate for a partial site for value season in 2010 is $44 a night. At that rate it would be $1320 a month plus tax. Sure you can get some discounts but you could never get it for an average of $760 a month.

I wish that was correct, though! $760's just slightly more than I pay for rent + water + trash. If I could do the Fort for that, I'd be ahead by "moving in" (no electric or cable bills!). :rotfl:

Yeah, unfortunately at $35k per year the math works out to $670 per week, not $760 per month! Oh well.

The last year that long term guests were given flat, monthly rates (a.k.a. "Winter Settlers Rate") at the Fort was October 2004 to February 2005. It was $825/month for a full hook-up. At that time the site levels were partial, full hook-up, and preferred. So I'm thinking that a previous poster's math was closer to a weekly and not a monthly rate.
