Length of Stay - 1 night`

I am wondering if anyone can answer the following question....
if you book into the same disney resort for 2 nights on 2 separate registrations can you purchase a length of stay pass for just the second night.
Our flight does not arrive until late the night of Dec.6th. I would like to just have the length of stay starting Dec.7th and thought if I booked the registration separately I could do this.
What do you think?

If you book room-only, and do not purchase your tickets until check-in, many times you can add the length of stay tickets and they will drop the first day since you are checking in so late.

Does it just depends who is at the counter - or is that the rule of thumb? We probably won't get there until 6pm so some of the parks will be closed. I have room only reservations but I am wondering if it would better to have them as separate days "just in case".

Yes, we have done this in the past. Just make sure you do not purchase your UHP prior to you visit. The only one who can take a day off the ticket is the front desk of your hotel the day you check in.

So true! We always check in late at night and for our first couple of trips we wasted a day each time. Thanks to the wonderful people on the Disboards, I have learned so much.
