Hi, Len!

I am wondering why the "Best Days" calendar on the website does not say anything about Memorial Day since all of the other holidays are marked. Please tell me you KNOW it is Memorial Day and missed marking it! If you overlooked it being Memorial Day will we see a significant jump in anticipated crowds? Also, Gay Days has their calendar out for 2006 and they are in the Disney parks June 1-4. I noticed the Best Days updates from yesterday only cover through February but I would appreciate any Memorial Day insight you may have. Thanks!! :flower:

Hey, where do you get the info for the best days?? Could you give me the link please? Thanks!

We were at WDW this past May 26-June 5th. We followed the Tour Guide Mike touring plans and had no long lines.

We were at Mk the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Arrived at opening, stayed until about 3 pm. No long waits. Went over to Epcot to watch Illuminations at night.

Sunday at Epcot felt crowded. Since we had a touring plan, we had no long waits BUT the fast pass return times were longer than I expectd and the Land was packed with people.

We were at MGM on Memorial Day. No long waits.

Hi Shel,

Yes, know it's Memorial Day. ;-) The crowd predictions are updated through May 31, and we have actual data from this year's MD used in that predicted "8."

Are both GD schedules out? I think this year there were two competing organizations. I'll check when I get home. Thanks for the heads up!

Len

Thanks, Len! :goodvibes

I knew you wouldn't overlook a major holiday weekend right as kids are getting out of school!

There is only one Gay Day schedule posted right now. The other site is still all 2005. Gotta love those guys who have their schedules together NOW! If both websites have significant turn out and they are designating different parks then I am just going to give up being able to dodge the huge crowds. We'll have hopper passes so if there are just masses of people we will hop somewhere else! But with Star Wars weekends, Flower & Garden festival, Memorial Day and 2 competing groups of Gay Day attendees there may be no place to hop to!

Or maybe DH won't be able to get vacation that week and this will all be completely pointless! :rotfl:

Thanks, missypie! It is good to hear that someone has successfully navigated the week we are looking at!

I don't know how we had such totally different experiences. Our original plans were to spend 8 days at AKL and leave before the holiday weekend. We were having so much fun that we decided to add-on a couple of days and stay through the weekend. First, we had trouble finding rooms. Literally everything at WDW and within 20+ minutes of WDW was COMPLETELY booked. At the very last moment (thanks to a dh who refused to give up -- and had not wanted to take this trip at first!!), we caught a cancellation at CSR. We were disappointed to find the crowds so unbelievably huge that we wish we had stuck with our plan. Saturday morning at MK was not bad at all. By noon, it was hard to even walk down the street...very slow going. MGM was even worse. Dh and older ds went to Epcot at night (I didn't even want to take the little ones out.) and said it was packed!
