I searched the forum and couldn't find anything recent on this so thought I would make a thread and ask..Do they give leis at 'Ohana when you go in for dinner still? Did they ever or is it just breakfast or not at all? I need to know if we should bring some or if they will give them there. Thanks all!:thumbsup2

Yes they should give them at dinner and they still give them at breakfast. Even if they don't, I'm sure you could ask the Poly for some. They have plenty when you check-in at the Poly for a stay.

We just ate at 'Ohana on Tuesday night. They didn't give us leis as we walked in, but they had a singer playing Ukelele and leading the kids in songs and coconut races. She was draped in leis and invited anyone up to get one and gave all the kids one if they participated in her games.

We've never gotten leis at dinner in the 5+ times we have eaten there.
We didn't hear an invitation to go get one. Did see the kids get them if they played the games.

We ate at Kona last year for breakfast and while waiting on our table to be ready we took our picture in front of the Ohana thing (by the railing). The guy taking the picture asked if we were there for Ohana and we said no, Kona. He still gave the kids leis :) I thought that was really nice.....they all still have them, my girls have them hanging on their bedroom wall.

Our experience last year was the same. No leis upon arrival, but DD did take part in the singing. She was the last one in line to get a lei and the lady gave her every one she still had. DD walked away with 8-9 leis.

We got them entering the hotel, when we had drinks about an hour before dinner @ Tambu Lounge. It was very relaxing to have a drink before hand. + we had the best view of the landscape. <just wanted to say. :goodvibes

Our server handed them out to his tables in December. However, we did not see any other tables receiving them.

They always have them, like other have said, for things like games, birthdays, special occaisions, etc. It's just based on what entertainment they have going at the time you are there. I've seen them given to kids after the coconut races. I've seen them given out to anyone with a birthday in that month. My mom and I both got one last year for this. I've also gotten one before for participating in a hula lesson. How they are given out is not consistent, but they will always give you one if you ask.

As pp said there seems to be no consistency in how they hand the leis out. The children that participate receive one and sometimes she just walks around putting them around diner's necks (did this last year), but you can always get one by walking up when she's handing them out at the end of the game. We were just there this past week and chose not to receive one - have too many now :lmao: Enjoy your dinner there - it has always been fantastic for us

In September we got them, my girls really wanted them, but they gave our whole group leis as well.

We were there for dinner last week (first time eating at 'Ohana and we loved it!)

They called people up for birthdays and anniversaries and gave them leis, did not give them to the kids doing the activities (maraca parade and limbo).

But, just as we were leaving two people were walking around placing leis on people's necks as they sat at their tables. They didn't come over in our direction at all, but my DD walked up to one of them and they placed on her neck too. So we got one (which was all we needed).

We were there 2 years ago and got them from the woman playing and singing with everyone...we were all covered in them lol

Got them the last 4 times we were there for dinner. Ask your server if you are not handed one when you arrive.

We ate there last Sept. and we asked the lady that checked us in at the checkin desk about them and she brought us out a bunch of them. So you may ask them at the checkin desk for some.

We got them last time we were there for dinner. And I may be crazy, but they smelled so good I could have ate them. Not sure what they sprayed on them?!

We were not offered leis Oct last year or Feb this year but we didn't want any more. As others said there are plenty at the hotel registration desk or ask your server.

We have ate at Ohana 5 or 6 times and have only gotten leis twice (the last 2 times actually). The first time our server brought them to us and the second time we got them from the woman who seated us. Other times we had seen other guest with them but we didn't get them. As others have said I would imagine you could just ask if they aren't offered.
