Hi,

I was on WDW reservation website looking at the info they had on the Polynesian Resort. In one photo it looks like someone in the lobby is putting something around a guests neck.

Do they give you a lei when you check in, or was I seeing the picture wrong.

I've been there twice and never had one put on me when I checked in. I saw a table where they had them, but no one offered. You might have to ask for one. Probably depends on the mood of the CM and how busy they are at the time of check in. Be sure to ask for them.

disneyfan67,

Thanks. It isn't that big of deal, but I just thought it would be kind of cool.

I know sometimes us Disney vacationers get excited about the smallest things when it has to do with your vacation.

When we checked into the Polynesian this past December, the CM put leis on each of us- we didn't ask or anything. They were doing it for everyone. They had pink ones and white ones.

Ilovestitch,

Thanks. My two favorite places are Hawaii and WDW and I get them both on the same vacation.

Too funny! We couldn't dedide between wdw or hawaii, so I suggested the Poly....now we feel like we're getting both in one!

We received leis at chec in, then they gave my DD's extras each time they went through the lobby and they have polynesian women in a little childrens area showing kids, and adults how to make their own. We came home with a ton on silk leis

trappednabox,

The funny thing is that I didn't figure this out until this afternoon. All the sudden someone mentioned the Polynesian and the more I say the more it screamed out "Hawaii".

what's even funnier, we're staying in the hawaii longhouse! I LOVE IT!

trappednabox,

Isn't that conceirge. I wish I could do that, but it would add $108 on to my room rate per night and make it $426.38 a night instead of $318.96 I am paying now at the Polynesian.

Yeah, it is and it did add to the price, but we wanted to go all out for our 1st trip to wdw! I figured why not! I'm not paying for it alone (thanks mom, but she wanted it too!) I want our 1st trip to be really special.

trappednabox,

I see you are going during regular season so the rates aren't as high as when I am going which is peak season. I might have to try concerige out during my May trip if I like the Polynesian Resort, which I know I will.

I've never been there but from what everyone says I'm sure we'll both like it! I just a little worried (tee hee) that I'll like it soooo much I'll only want to stay there if and when I go back! ( like that would be so bad! :rotfl2: ) maybe next time I'll go alone so it won't be so much! :rotfl: :rotfl:

trappednabox,

I'm going by myself and it still will be that much :earseek: .

Then maybe it might be awhile before I go again! Hope not though! I haven't even been once and I already want to plan another trip!
My name is Tracy and I'm a Disneyaholic! :rotfl:

Tracy,

My name is Jason, I haven't been in four years, planning two WDW vacations within 10 weeks of each other, getting an AP, oh yeah I'm a disneyaholic as well

I think I've made everyone I know sick with all my disney talk, but like I tell them, If your gonna love me, you gotta love my mouse!

Tracy,

When I told people at work that I was going to WDW and made reservations for three character meals, they thought I was crazy. To them WDW is for families, not single guys.

Some people just don't understand and never will.

I think it would be fun to go alone! You don't have to worry about someone not wanting to do what you want to do, but I think if I told the family (mom, & sis) I was going alone I might get a few tears!

Tracy,

I really enjoy traveling alone. Like you said, I can stay where I want, go and do whatever park I want to and if I feel like going back for a swim I can.

I hear from people at work all the time, how they could never go on a vacation by themselves and I tell them the same thing. It lets you get away from everything for a while.
