Feel free to move it if you need to but the other trip reports where for Disney that I saw so I decided to put LEGOLAND here.

It was me, DH and DS 9. Our 13 you was in Australia without us so we needed something to keep our mind off of missing him. It is not necessarily in order but pretty close I think.

We flew down July 4th and went to LEGOLAND the 5th and 6th. No waterpark for us. We stayed at Holiday Inn Winter Haven. They gave DS a free mini figure when we checked in. There were a few Lego things around the hotel. They had a Boston Markets connected to their parking lot so we ate there that night. There are not microwaves. If you want to use one you have to go to the hotel next door they said. We could see the fireworks at LEGOLAND from our hotel room so even when we weren't at the park we got to see them. We went to LEGOLAND the next day. Shuttle times were 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15 am. The shuttle was neat and the drivers were nice. Be on time though.

The park opened at 9:30. We took the 8:15 shuttle which only took about 5 minutes to get there so we waited about an hour. We were first in line. We just got our sunscreen on, took pictures, planed where to go when and chatted with the worker while we waited so it wasn't bad at all. I think the middle 3 turnstiles were open. They have a kid pull the lever to open the park. I heard you have to pay like 400+ dollars extra to do that.

Someone behind us in line that had annual pass said they just start on the right and go around so we did that. First for us was the dragon ride. It was a good ride. We went to check out the ride picture and they had a thing where you could buy unlimited digital downloads for 25 dollars I think it was. We got that. Also you got a free printed picture of any of the rides you went on before 1pm so we did that too. The unlimited downloads also included any pictures with characters.

Next up was coastersaurus. The first time around DS was on the wrong side so we got on it again and made sure to look at the camera and make sure he was on the correct side. We all liked that ride too.

I think after coastersaurus was the Imagination zone. It was a section where you build your own lego car and race it against someone else. DH and DS liked it. When you get there you give them your name and they give you 4 tires. When you are ready to leave you give the tires back. I am thinking it is around 11am now. It was not busy at all. Maybe 5 or 6 other kids in there. We signed up for a 4pm robot building class. I think it might have been the mindstorm. They have prebuilt robots that you program to do things or for older kids you can build your own robot.

This is probably when it was starting to rain. We ate bbq sandwiches from the bbq pit. I forget the price but they were huge. We stood by the bathrooms out of the rain eating. By the time we were done eating the rain was over.

Next was project x. It was another good ride and one they take your picture on. We skipped boating school. Driving school was next. DS got his picture taken while in line to get a drivers license on the way out. It was an EXCELENT picture. When we went in, the kids sit up front and parents stand in the back. The kids were getting instruction on how to drive the cars. Then the parents go out one door and the kids go out another door and get in a car to start driving. A lot of kids got stuck often. I don't think DS thought it was very fun.

We did Pharaoh's revenge at some point. I think that was the one where you shoot at lights kinda like the toy story ride at Disney. You get your picture on that one too.

Rescue academy was next. DH and DS liked it because DH is a fire fighter. They had to work together to make the fire truck go down to the "fire" area. Then DH pumped to make the water come out of the hose as DS held the hose trying to put out the fake fire. Then they had to get back in the truck and race back.

We went to flying school. It was the last ride we needed to get our pictures on. It looked really fun. As we were waiting in line it started to rain so they shut all the rides down. We were under cover so we stayed where we were. After about 7 minutes the ride started back up. It was the WORST RIDE EVER. I was in a car in front of DH and DS. You have to craw up over this bump to get in the seat which was not fun but not too bad. they pull the bar down over your shoulders and off you go. It is a suspended roller coaster. It was horrible. I kept getting hit in the face by the shoulder pad. I thought my glasses were surely going to break but I was more worried about my 9yo son behind me. I was afraid he was going to have a broken neck! When it stopped he was about in tears but not quite. He said his head kept getting banged around and his neck hurt. We all hated that ride. To be fair though, I think if we were maybe in a different cart, like maybe up front or in the back, it might not have been so wicked. We all like roller coaster but that was just horrible. I would never recommend it. I can't believe they let little kids on that ride! All of the other rides when people came back they were smiling and clapping. I noticed there were no happy faces getting off this ride as we were standing in line. I never imagined it would be that bad though. I know some others probably like it but not us.

I think next it is time to go to the robot making school. DS got a premade robot and got instructions on how to program it to do certain things. The class was until your finished but they give you up to 45 minutes to figure it out. I am sure the older kids would really like one of those classes.

We then headed to get ready for the fireworks (July 4,5 and 6 only). It was Red, Brick and Boom. Very neat. They gave you 3D glasses and it made the fireworks look like exploding bricks. We got sandwiches and strawberries at a stand near the pirate ship stadium and then ate sitting at the stadium waiting for the fireworks. Then we just walked to the shuttle and went to the hotel.

The next day we decided to still do the 8:15am shuttle but that day we did all the 4D shows, the Big Test show and the Pirate show, miniland and Cypress Gardens. We shared some Granny's apple fries with whipped cream. One container was enough for the 3 of us to share. It was YUMMY. We did some shopping and checked out how lego bricks are made. We did the safari one of those days. It was neat to see all the lego animals. DS did the carousel and the joust. That day we ate at the Market Resturant I believe it was. they had sections of different food to order. DS and I both got a kids chicken fingers. I could have shared one meal with DS. Neither one of us could finish it. I got seasoned fries with mine and DS got grapes and milk. I got a milk shake. It was delicious. DH got some kind of Chinese noodle stuff. We also had waffles on a stick that day. They are waffles on a stick covered in chocolate and toppings.

We never did get to do the Island in the sky. It is a ring that takes you up to see a 360 degree view of the park. We would have missed our 6pm shuttle bus so we skipped it. The shuttle bus times to go back to the hotel were 6p, 7p and 8p. The park closed at 8p normally but was open late for fireworks so the shuttle went till 9:30 those nights.

Don't forget to take your doubles or minifigures you don't want with you. You can trade minifigures with any of the workers. DS loved that. DH also found some lego minifigure pieces on the floor of the hotel room as we were leaving. They had to of be left by someone else who stayed in the room before us. If you have any questions I can try to answer.

After LEGOLAND, we went to dinosaur world. DS loved that too an then we went to the Wyndham hotel by DTD and went to DTD too.

OP thank you for the detailed TR, especially your descriptions of the rides...and the shuttles :). We're going to LL for one day in August and I'm trying to plan accordingly. Your TR is a huge help. I especially appreciate your mentioning the huge portion sizes.

Granny's Apple Fries were $7.70 including DH coffee

At Panini Grove We got a chocolate chip cookie $2.00 and a fountain drink was $2.75 I don't know if that was a large or what size it was. We mostly just kept refilling our own Brita water bottles all day long.

At Lakeside Sandwich we got bottled pink lemonade 2.60
Ham and Swiss Sandwich 5.99
Smoked Turkey Sandwich 5.99
Tuna Sandwich 5.99
They were all just regular sized sandwiches. We got a cup of strawberries that were so yummy too for 3.50 The strawberries were huge and we shared a cup.
The total bill was 25.72
We sat and ate it at the stadium waiting for the fireworks. I didn't like my tuna sandwich but DH and I just switched sandwiches. The sandwich place is near the stadium.

I can't find my receipt for I think it was Market restaurant where we had the kids chicken meals and the Chinese meal and the milk shake

I almost forgot the picture of the BBQ so I had to get one while DS was eating it.

Oh, thanks for your tr! Definitely skipping flying school! :scared: We have one day only, as we are staying in Orlando, sounds like we will be kept busy. :)
