Legoland ticket question

I am taking my 2 grandsons, ages 5 and 8, to Legoland this Spring. The boys love legos and build things for hours. I originally planned just one day (no aquarium or waterpark) as most people say that is sufficient. I am starting to think they may need more time and could we could add a 1/2 day at Legoland that was originally planned for the beach. I would prefer to make the decision on whether to do a 2nd day after we have a little time in the park to see if it will be needed. Can you 'upgrade' a 1 day ticket to add a second day prior to leaving day 1? Has anyone done this?

Yes, you just go to guest services. Unlike Disney you don't have to do it on the same say your ticket is good for, I think you can come back during the week. It's still about $15 to upgrade for another day, just like the cost difference of a 2 day vs 1 day bought upfront.

I'm sure if you split the first day and left at 1 and went down to the beach, that would be enough beach time and you could spend another whole day at LL.
