So my DS7 LOVES legos. We are doing Disneyland next June. We WERE planning on 5 days in 'the land' but I was thinking today of how much DS really does love Legos and thought maybe it'd be a fun daddy son thing?

Is legoland worth it? I'd be sending DS7 and DH together alone and the rest of us will do another day in DL. It seems odd to split us up for a day, but I KNOW that Dh and DS will have a bond over this time and (because I grew up without a daddy) this is important to me. Is it weird to split up the family? Would it be good in the long run? Is it WORTH IT? If legoland is sorta 'meh' I won't waste the time. if it's worth it I'd buy those two a 4 day dl pass and the rest of us 5 days...

I think it's totalling worth it & a great idea.
LL was one of my ds14 favorite parks. We were last there 2 years ago. It's much more relaxed than DL and the landscaping is beautiful.
7 is a perfect age for LL, one on one time will be a special memory. Maybe you'll be able to track down one of the kids get in free coupons. Burger King commercials two weeks ago were mentioning they had coupons.

Oh that'd be even better. It'd obviously be cheaper to give them a 5 day pass and 'forget legoland' but...if it gives DS and Dh some one on one man time..I'm all for it. I'm glad to hear it's fairly relaxed too. Thank you so much for the comment :)

I'd suggest if your daughters are younger than DS, they would like it too. It's a little kid park. But I would do it before DL, that everyone, parents too will enjoy.

DD(6 at the time) HATES legos. Like..I can't even describe the detest ROFL. The other DD will be 2. I feel like DL might be a better fit? I dunno. I may do some more looking into legoland tho...if you think it's worth it :)

6 years old is a very good time to go. It's not all lego, lego, lego, but really lots of theming like a kid would imagine if playing with legos. All kids imagine things wether they play with lego's or not.

2yo some things, not lots to do.

They will all like it better than Mom and Dad. So you could go for them.

At DL there are more things that a whole family will enjoy at the same time.

K. DH and I shall discuss that tonight. It was a random thought, but after DS begged me to print off coloring pages of 'lego city'..I wondered if it'd be good.

I LOL'ed that you said your dd detested legos! I was wondering why you didn't just go as a fam as well, until I read that. Hee hee. Honestly, I think as long as it is fine with everyone to split up (we personally haven't ever done that on vacation, but it has never come up), then staying at DLR with your girls and sending dh and ds to LL would be fun for everyone. We are doing LL next month for the first time, with DD's 9 and 7 and DS 5. Ds and dh are lego freaks, and the girls like them too, so I know we will all have fun. Even though I won't help thinking that the money we are spending is postponing our next trip to DLR. Oh well. There's other memories to be made besides at DLR right?

Since you still have awhile before your trip, make sure you sign up for the free Lego magazine. I find that the magazine is too old for my children (too much weaponry and stuff in it) but it does have coupons for a free child's admission to Legoland with a paid adult ticket. There usually is one coupon in each issue, so there likely will be one that is valid for your visit.

We went to Legoland in April and both of my kids (DD7 & DS4) LOVED it! I def. think it would be worth it for your son if he is into Legos - not just the rides but also all of the great miniatureland stuff. And my DD also hated legos...until she went to Legoland. ;) Now she wants some of her own for Christmas.

We also did the waterpark there and they all loved being able to build with the big floating legos on their inter-tubes while riding the lazy river. I preferred the actual legoland park to the waterpark, but the kids loved both.

LOL Mamaofthree- Of course! Just a different type of memory LOL

Thanks Sarah!

gabsandalex- Welcome! First post in my thread!! Thank you for the review. So I have to say the floating legos sound adorable LOL
