We're going to DLR 10/20-10/27. Planning one day to go to LL. DS will be 7 and loves Legos, and DD will be 4 and I think she'll find things to enjoy as well. Should we get our tickets separate from the Disney packages? Looks like there's an option to include transportation to & from as well as tickets. DS gets the Lego magazine and it seems there are free tix in there, though I haven't looked yet. Anyway, not sure how to get to & from as we don't plan on renting a car - the whole rest of the week we'll be at DLR. Any help on logistics of ticketing & transportation would be great, as well as where to buy them. Thanks!

You might look into taking the Metro out of Anaheim, transfer to the Coaster in Oceanside, and it looks like a short cab ride to Legoland from there. It may be cheaper than transportation through something like Greyline tours and may allow a bit more flexibility for your family.

There are Grayline transportation and tranportation/ticket packages.

The main problems are that the hours can cut out some park time, and can cost more.

Basically you could pay more for the transport than renting a car. Using the trains may be a viable option too. Cars are easy to rent near Disneyland Resort.

Plus in the Lego Club magazine you will find a coupon for buy an adult get a kid in free. So this may make the grayline package not worthwhile.

When you are going there will be Halloween Parties. http://california.legoland.com/en/bot/

In any case I would surely visit LL while in SoCal your kids are the perfect age for it.
