Ok so we are planning to fly in on 11/29 and since Disney parks are going to be CRAZY crowded was thinking of getting LegoLand out of the way on 11/30. It is a Saturday and it is Thanksgiving weekend. Am I crazy?

Wasn't sure if the locals would flock to Disney parks instead or if people are just busy with holiday shopping and it might be ok to go????

My other option if Friday 11/6. Pack up from Disney that morning, do Legoland all day then head straight to the airport for an evening flight. My only question...if i did LegoLand on 11/6...what would we do on 11/30? Not a crowd person...so was thinking AK might be the better option??? Everyone will be in MK or DHS for the holiday lights..

Ugh...planning this trip is getting intense!! HAHA

I don't have an answer but we are thinking of getting Legoland 'out of the way' our first day in, Dec 1st for pretty much the same reason. SO I think it's a good plan ;)

Thanks...I figure the locals would probably flock to MK or HS for the lights and decorations...not so much for LegoLand. Plus with it being a holiday weekend, people will be shopping. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us!!!!!

I was wondering about LEGOland on Sunday the 1st as well. I was hoping that travelers would be driving that day, but didn't know about locals who might want to do something fun that day. According to crowd prediction, WDW is crowded through Saturday and then lightens up considerably. Perhaps LEGOland is the same? We can hope.

Anyone know more from experience?

We're planning on 11/30 as well and I have the same concerns. I just read a review from someone who was there the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and they found the park crowds to be low.

My hope is that the locals, who can go any old at weekend, will avoid the holidays. My other hope is that everyone at WDW for the holidays won't be detouring down to LEGOLAND on Saturday.

Fingers crossed...

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. We ended up planning LEGOLAND for Monday....on 11/30 we are renting a golf cart and spending the afternoon/evening at Fort Wilderness!! Figured the parks are going to be crazy busy so we are going to get a leisure start to our vacation!!

We are planning to go to Legoland on Friday 11/29, in hopes that the crowds will be much lighter than Disney. Then we are going to AK on Saturday knowing it will still be very crowded but hopeful it will be better than the other three parks. Sounds like a lot of us have the same idea!

Hope to get an update on the crowds from those that went today or tomorrow. We are planning Legoland for Black Friday and the following Saturday next year.

We ended up going on 12/2 and the park was EMPTY!!!! Here is my opinion of LEGOLAND for those that want to read it......

1. Not worth $85.00 pp. We got a buy 1 get one free so our price was a little better.
2. The all you can eat pizza/pasta place is really good
3. Buy the picture pass for 39.99....you will end up spending that much and more if you don't.
4. There are about 4-5 rides for kids 7 or older that they will enjoy. The rest of the park is for younger kids.
5. The Hero Factory center was a joke.....just a bunch of hero factory pieces and you build your own. My son can do that at home and he was severely disappointed that that is all it was.
6. The build a car and race it was fun for son and hubby.

Overall....if you have a lego lover 8 or under you can enjoy the day. If you go when waterpark is open it might be worth a little more money. I am glad we took him once but we will not be return visitors.

Do you buy the photo package onsite or ahead of time?

Did you do the mini fig trading?

Funny, we were there the same day -- and we were shocked by how much we loved it! 49, 48, 9 & 6 yr olds. Loved the 4 coasters...which are kiddy friendly but fun, loved the Boating School and Driving School. Thought the cast members were really friendly. Enjoyed the water skiing show, and a walk through Cypress Gardens. Got tons of pictures in Miniland.

We are thinking we need to go back again next year. We're not a hard core Lego family at all, so I went in with no expectations, except hoping to remember some of Cypress Gardens from many years ago. Now granted, we live at the shore in NJ, and go on our rides over and over, so maybe our thrill quotient is set differently. I am sorry it wasn't a better time for you guys.

We went to LEGOLAND on Friday, November 29th, and thought the crowds were light. I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes for anything and most things we waited less than that. My DH was very leery of going and he thought it was rather expensive, but we loved LEGOLAND and are so happy we went. My boys thought it was the best and they are thrill riders, but they still loved every ride they rode, and they rode many rides several times. We also ate at the pizza/pasta buffet and thought the price was reasonable and the food was good. I wish I'd have known about the photo package. We bought one photo for, I think, $19.99, but my boys really wanted their driver's license from the Ford Driving School. Oh well. We never did make it to Cypress Gardens. We wish we would've had more time at LEGOLAND.

Thanks so much for the report! I've been really worried that we were making a mistake going on Black Friday next year so this eases my mind.
