Going to DL with my nieces ages 12,10,and 7. Will the older 2 be bored at Legoland?? The baby will love it, but I don't want to take them all if it's more for the little ones. Thanks!
If you are nieces are used to WDW, I think they would be bored. I asked my 7 year old lego crazed son and my wife. They said they'd be bored. My son and I have gone with free tickets, but remember the adult tickets are 63.00 and the kids tickets are 53.00 (just checked the site). I would not pay full price for Legoland unless my kids are lego lovers. Just my opinion.
There are rides that your older two would enjoy but they're not comparable to the bigger rides at Disney.
It really depends on your kids. If they're scared of the bigger rides at Disneyland (California Scream'n, Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain etc.), then they very well could enjoy Legoland. Otherwise they maybe bored except for a few of the rides.
Buy your passes at Costco. Quite a bit cheaper than at the gate.
I took DD when she was 11, another 11 yo, 9 yo and 7yo. They enjoyed it. The older ones not as much as the younger ones. They didn't want to go back the following year though. Once was enough for them. It really is geared towards younger kids I think.
Our dd loved legoland when she was little. The last time we took her she was 8 and bored. She meet some older girls there and they rode the same little roller coaster over and over again for hours.
It totally depends on the kids my son was 11.5 and my daughter 9.5 for our recent trip. They absolutely loved it. My son is ride weenie though so he was glad nothing there was too much for him. My kids aren't really that into legos but they just liked that everything was so kid oriented. If they are into big coasters then I'd say no but if they are ride weenies then I would say yes.
It does indeed depend on the child - my 12 year old son loves it, but he's a lego addict and spends a lot of time in the building rooms - where you can race cars you design/build and learn about Mindstorms. Some of the rides are ok, a lot are pretty lame.
Also Miniland is worth seeing for nearly anyone - including adults, esp those that built legos anytime in their childhood. Amazing recreations of Manhattan, Las Vegas, Hollywood, the Sydney Opera House, the Taj Mahal. Incredible.
But don't pay full price. Costco often sells discount tickets. And I wound up getting a free child's annual pass with a $100 lego store purchase in downtown Disney last year. So look for bargains.
