Legoland Halloween

We were thinking of doing the Legoland Halloween party in October. Has anyone gone? What can we expect?

It's OK...
If you have been to a disney halloween party you will be disappointed....

Candy and some fun activites... it does get crowded on certain days.

It's worth it if you kid like Halloween and such.

We are going to a Disney party on Tuesday and then we will be at Legoland the following Saturday. I am worried about being disappointed after doing the Disney party first. We are going with our 2DD, ages 7 and 9.

They probably will be, I mean its a fun time, another reason to wear their costume, but I would let the know it just going to be a "normal" halloween party.
Legoland does everything different as I experianced their "Star Wars Weekend" last weekend and it was very disappointing... It was fun and my son enjoyed seeing the "charcters" (half of which I couldn't tell who they were), but it doesn't take over the park and they don't decorate like disney.
If you are going to be there, I say go, then you won't wonder.

We went once last year. I don't remember much. I know that there was a building competition thing set up by the Dune Slides...but if you weren't there early the orange and green legos were all gone. A costume contest. A singing/dancing mummy troupe by the Pharoh's Revenge playground. There was a giant pumpkin right up front for pic taking. A few people walking around in costume. The maypole in Castle-land was made up to be a giant-sized ghost. I didn't do the brick-or-treat trail (on the enchanted walkway, I think), it was so long that I bribed my daughter with a tub of whatever candy she wanted from Trader Joe's to not have to wait in that line. I don't even remember riding anything.

I agree with the PP - events like this at LL are not 'overlays' like at Disney. LL drops a few things into the park and calls it a day. At Star Wars weekend, once you got 50 feet away from the entrance the only way you knew there was a special event is if you saw a kid in a Boba Fett costume. (Or my daughter, Princess Leia.)

If you're going to compare, Legoland comes out on the short side every time. It's not Disney, and you have to accept it for what it is to enjoy it. They do put on a pretty good 5-minute fireworks display!

I've been to Legoland's halloween thing every year for the past 5? years. I barely started going to Disneyland's last year.

Legoland through the years has made it from being family friendly to only kid friendly. At first adults and kids could do everything; costume contest and trick or treat and then it went from kids only contest but everyone could trick or treat and last year everything was only for kids :/ My family might skip it this year.

Seaworld's halloween party is really fun too. Especially the last day since they give you tons of everything to get rid of it!

Disneyland's is really fun but really restrictive. You can't wear some items or take in some props. There rules are very harsh and that's what has been keeping me away for so long.

Legoland is a lot more free. Disneyland would not let you do this!

That being said, visitor wise, there are so many creative and more variety of guests than at other parks

My little cousins love going to all of them, since they get to dress up at a theme park I'm sure your daughters would love it

It is very minimal. There is some entertainment, a balloon artist, costume contest and those kind of things, but pretty unimpressive.

There is a halloween trail for trick or treating which is a little circular group of little houses that give out a small candy or apple.

It is teeny tiny as compared to Disney's. I have been to it several years and each year have found it very lame, but my DD has enjoyed it immensely. Running around wearing her costume, what isn't fun about that?

So, should the Halloween party be a day you plan to go to LegoLand, it is a bonus. I would not recommend going especially for the party.

OK I went this last weeked, the following is what my child received in his goodie bag, they can only go once as they stamp hands:

-1 lego
-1 apple
-1 pencil
-6 now and laters
-3 smarties
-1 airhead
-1 granola bad
-1 (10pc.) bag of candy corn
-1 gummie hamburger
-2 boxs jujyfriuts

That is all, now he thought it was fun, and I didn't dress him up, and glad I didn't.

We DID end up going and really weren't impressed. We went the first Sat in October, arrived for the start and stayed until the end. We never got in line for treats as the lines were insane. They have an employee stand at the back of the line with a big sign that says, "End Of The Line". We checked about every hour and it was always at least 45min. We went on every ride that was open. My girls were not blown away at all. In fact after each ride they would just kind of look at eachother like, . (keep in mind these are 2 girls who love California Screamin). I'm glad we went because now we know what Legoland is all about but lookiing back, I wish we would have spent another day at Disney.
