Legoland Florida

Hi,

Has anyone been to Legoland Florida? I'd love to hear more about it. My kid is a big lego fan and I'm trying to decide if it is worth the cost of car rental and tickets for 5 (and also a day away from Disney).

We went to Legoland California this summer with my five year old and my seven year old nephew and they loved it! Planning a trip now to Legoland Florida in February. Several of the rides/attractions seem to be duplicates of the ones in California. It was a good park geared toward the smaller kids that can't ride many of the big roller coasters at other parks (my son is 44 inches tall). It's really geared toward the under-12 group, and they have some interesting Lego displays as well.

We went this past Christmas Trip. Park was not busy. Like many other reviews I have read it is not worth it at full price....but we got the buy one get one free child and then got a couple adult ones for just over $50 each......so it was somewhere around $250 for the 6 of us. I loved the cypress gardens walk, the lego displays of various buildings and landmarks and the water ski show. The rides were all just fine......not great.....not really bad. We have 10 year old twins that were the main reason for our visit. We would not go back again- they were at the top age I would take kids there but it was an enjoyable day overall at that price. Full price I would have felt ripped off.

We took our 4 and 5 yr olds to Legoland Florida last April with the buy one get one free promo. The kids enjoyed themselves.....we all liked it.

My son is going to be 11 by the time we go. He has been saying that he wants to go since he first heard about there being one in California. He does like some bigger rides but isn't into huge thrill rides so their thrill rides might be just the right level.

One of the highpoints from our last trip to Disney World was going to Downtown Disney and shopping in the Lego Store. I was somewhat bored but the DW and DS were in heaven.

I was mostly worried that he might be bored (I don't mind me being bored) if the rides were too young.

We took a day out of our WDW trip last June to go to Legoland (it was not busy at all). Our kids were 8 and 10 at the time. We had buy one get one free admission, so we only had to pay for my husband and I. Most rides are geared toward younger kids, so I'm glad we didn't wait any longer to take them. They enjoyed themselves, but we won't be going back.

Quaker "LIFE" Cereal had BOGO coupons in the boxes at one point .... I think that deal is over now but I'm sure they will have something pop up for 2013 here shortly ... they always do!

a quick Google search and I found this

select your tickets, add to cart ... at the next page enter the code 2003 and it will remove the price for one kids ticket, if you are buying 2 adults and two kids you have to enter the code twice.

I tested it and it works .... although I didn't go on through the purchase!

That allows you to select a special ticket that is good for one free childs ticket with a paid adult

My boys have been dying to go here for a while now. I am trying to plan a disney trip for the end of Oct and hoping to work in a day at legoland florida. They will be 10 & 8 and also 3yo DD Thanks for the discount links! I know their lego magazines always come with these coupons in them also but the most recent one they got the coupon expires4/19/2013

There are normally several different places offering the buy 1 adult get 1 child free for Legoland. It seems it was more advertised when they first opened than now but the deals still exist. Mcdonalds, Wendys, Pepsi, Lego Magazine, and others still offer the deal, a google search will general find one. Also I pretty sure in US and Canada at Toys R US stores you can find coupons in small lego toy bags and/or in their lego catalogs. I agree that at full price it may not be worth it but with that deal it probably is, the rides do not compare to Disney or the other parks but there are some unique things like the Cypress Gardens and miniature land.

I've found free child with purchase of an adult in the Lego Club Jr. magazines. You can subscribe online, or if your kids purchase legos, the card to subscribe is usually in the box with the instruction booklet.

We also found $10 off up to 6 adult coupons in the Lego Batman DC Superheros video game we got for Xmas. It was on the back page of the instruction booklet inside the game. (We bought the Wii version). Not sure if it's in all versions.
