We are doing a 10day DW trip on Nov. I have 2 boys who love Legos and we are thinking about a day trip out to Legoland . Has anyone done this? Is Lego do-able in 1 day with the round trip drive and worth the $ and day away from DW?

How old are your boys? The park favors younger kids -- not that everyone can't enjoy it.

For example, my 8-year-old son prefers Legoland to Disney. You could just throw your disney tickets in the trash. He would be satisfied just going to Legoland. He calls Magic Kkingdom that "girl park."

You can do a lot in one day, but probably not everything. The park is not open as long as Disney parks are open.

You should also check out the free kids deals for Legoland. You can get a free kids ticket when you buy and adult ticket.

If you do decide to go to legoland early in your trip, be aware your boys may be begging you for the rest of your vacation to go back there.

Thus you could be walking down Main Street of Magic Kingdom. You approach the Castle, then turn to ask your boys how they like it and they say: "can we go back on vacation to Legoland now?"

We went in Sept. 2012 with DD3 who loved Legos, but was somewhat timid.

The drive wasn't bad at all. We stopped for lunch on the way over at McDonald's just outside Winterhaven.

We found that Legoland was much less magical, but still fun. DD was able to ride the majority of the rides and enjoyed the ones she tried. My husband loved the miniature Lego city area and all of the models.

We all loved the portion that was dedicated the Cyprus Gardens. It was gorgeous. Since the waterpark won't be open in November, you'll be able to accomplish a lot. The longest line that we stood in was <10 minutes.

That said, we don't feel the need to go back. We bought some tickets online from an organization that was doing a fundraiser. We got all of our tickets for $25 a piece. My husband and I agreed that if we'd paid full price (even with a free child's ticket), we'd have been very disappointed.

You should also note that the store at the park is not an official Lego Store and you cannot use (nor earn, if I remember correctly) VIP points. So, if you want vacation Legos, get them at DTD.

FencerGirl - can I ask where you bought your tickets? There are 6 of us planning to go in June and the admission tickets are so $$$

To get to Legoland

Take the Osceola Parkway towards Animal Kingdom

Turn Left onto Sherberth Road to Join Hwy 192

Turn Right onto Hwy 192 and on till you join Hwy 27 SOUTH

Stay on Hwy 27 South ( passing through Haines City .... With

Walmart & Southern Dunes on Left & the Famous Mannys Chophouse

on Right ) till you come to Dundee , pass through and take next turn

Right ( 540 ) Cypress Garden Road .

This is the easiest way and will take Over an Hour to drive.

Hope this Helps
